While the 2021 T20 Cricket World Cup is providing us with some decent cricket to watch on TV every night at the moment, the most important factor has yet to be decided:
The kits.
From the team that has brought you Premier League kit rankings and NRL kit rankings over the years, we felt that it was necessary to weigh in on the outfits that all 16 nations are competing in and give our unique take.
Especially given the fact we are now dealing with clash kits in a sport that has a format where everyone wears white.
With a mix of classic and new-age designs in the mix, it’s set to be a controversial list but fashion holds back for nobody, so without further ado, here are our rankings of the 2021 T20 World Cup kits.
(16) Ireland

The fluro-green with blue has more of the indoor Cricket/1990’s soccer goalkeeper vibe than a Cricket kit.
Given Ireland’s national colours and proud use of green, she’s a real let down this one.
(15) Bangladesh

The Tigers are into the next Group Stage of the tournament and will face the likes of Australia and England.
While everyone loves an underdog, the kit is a bit plain for our liking.
(14) South Africa

Is this the South African uniform or the Socceroos uniform?
Another nation that could have so much potential to come up with a ripper kit but then goes for something a bit, well, meh.
The South Africans also wore a reverse kit against the Aussies in their five-wicket loss on Saturday night.

Could have been a great chance to bring back the red, green outfit from the 1997-98 Carlton United series.

(13) Oman

You can see what they are trying to do with the nations flag, but it could be better.
(12) West Indies

Is this the West Indies or the 2003-04 Queensland Bulls ING Cup kit?
A real letdown from the reigning champions.
(11) Afghanistan

Fair to say, there’s been plenty else going on in Afghanistan in the leadup to the tournament, but the fact they are even playing is great.
There’s a real 1992 World Cup kit vibe to it as well for which many regard as the GOAT of ODI Cricket uniforms.
Rate it.
(10) England

The Poms have gotten creative with their kit, but the dark blue pants kill the vibe. It’s like wearing a party shirt but with business pants.
Could be better.
(9) Australia
To quote the 12th man/Bill Lawry “Canary yellow? That’s Australian gold my friend and don’t you f*ckin’ forget it! Canary yellow indeed…”
The powers that be have deemed the Aussies go with a clash-strip.
Have the good folk at the ICC not worked out that for over 200 years Test Cricket has been played in all-white?
Both are alright, but the Aussies have some far better kit options choose from with the many available from over the years.
It’s a pass.
(8) Pakistan
Pakistan’s 10 wicket victory over India in this kit will now be the stuff of legend back in the home nation.
The light/dark green mix is actually pretty cool and the players look great.
It makes the final eight.
(7) India

While it has been disappointing to see India forgo its 1992 throwback kit that we’ve been accustomed to over the past couple of years, the current blue/orange number is a solid, modern-looking oufit, perfect for T20.
(6) New Zealand

While no teal or cream that some Kiwi kits have offered in the past, this black and white number is a ripper.
Someone had fun with their photoshop patterns and gradients making this one!
(5) Netherlands

Great colours. Simple concept. Can’t go wrong.
(4) Paupa New Guinea

There’s no need for a clash kit in this absolute ripper of an orange and black kit. What a standout!
(3) Namibia

Sharp, two blues and a bit of red.
Speaks that we’re here for a good time, not a long time.
(2) Scotland

Is this the Scotland kit or the Melbourne Storm?
If the Scottish are going to be here, they may as well stand out and this purple haze is a deadset hit kit of this tournament.
(1) Sri Lanka

A controversial call at number one, but Sri Lanka has gone all-in on the Lion for both their kits this tournament, have done something different – which T20 is all about and the kits look bloody great.
Worthy of top spot in our list.
