Eclipse Stakes, Sandown Racecourse

Taking place on the last day of the the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival as part of Zipping Classic Race Day formerly held at Sandown Racecourse in mid to late November, the Eclipse Stakes is raced under a quality handicap at 1800 metres.

The event offers $200,000 in prize money and can serve as a nice final run for the middle-distance spring stayers.

In 2021 the Eclipse Stakes and Zipping Classic Day card was moved to late November at Caulfield Racecourse where it remained for the 2022 edition.

In 2023 the race took place on the first Saturday in December.
