7 Stakes 2026 Results
The official 2026 7 Stakes results will be available below once the race takes place for the first time at Group 2 level at Randwick on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

- #4 Autumn Glow
- #5 Aeliana
- #1 Ceolwulf
The 2026 Seven Stakes results at Randwick was another masterclass from champion mare Autumn Glow ($1.16 favourite), with the Chris Waller-trained daughter of The Autumn Sun further enhancing her exceptional record with a dominant victory under James McDonald. Taking up a prominent position before controlling the race throughout, Autumn Glow powered clear when challenged to score by 1.25 lengths over stablemate Aeliana ($21), while Ceolwulf ($15) filled third. The Group 2 triumph extended her record to an outstanding 13 wins from 14 starts and confirmed a return to Randwick for the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes (1600m) on October 17, with connections opting to bypass a crack at The Everest. Unsurprisingly, punters rallied behind the superstar mare, with Neds slashing her King Charles III Stakes odds from $1.70 into $1.30, further cementing Autumn Glow’s position as the clear horse to beat in one of the headline features on The Everest Day card.

The 7 Stakes one of the newer races added to the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival line-up first held in 2023 and receiving an official Group 2 upgrade in 2026. The $1 million event is run at weight-for-age over the mile at Royal Randwick in mid-September as the co-main event along with the Group 2 The Shorts for The Everest-bound sprinters.

It serves as a key lead-up to the Group 1 $5 million King Charles III Stakes (1600m) and the 7 Stakes offers the winner a ballot exemption into the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) at the same track and trip a fortnight later. The 7 Stakes – Epsom Handicap double is now a popular spring punt.
Think It Over was the inaugural 7 Stakes winner in 2023. In 2024 Fangirl improved on her third the year before to salute for the punters as the $1.75 favourite.
Fangirl became the event’s official first two-time winner with a successful title defence in 2025.
All three placegetters from the 2026 7 Stakes results went on to perform well at elite level over the season, especially the third placed Ceolwulf who completed the interstate Group 1 King Charles III Stakes / Champions Mile double that spring.
In 2026, trainer Chris Waller celebrated his third straight 7 Stakes victory with his brilliant mare Autumn Glow beating home stablemate Aeliana.
