Chris Waller‘s brilliant mare Fangirl ($2.05F) secured her second win in the 2025 7 Stakes results when narrowly denying rival and stablemate Lindermann over the Randwick mile on Saturday ahead of a run in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes on Everest Day.

The $1 million event is an unlisted feature run at weight-for-age over the mile at Royal Randwick in mid-September.
It replaces the George Main Stakes as the 1600m feature on race card that is now headed by the Group 2 The Shorts for The Everest-bound sprinters.
The George Main Stakes was moved to mid-October to take place at Randwick on The Everest Day and renamed the Group 1 $5 million King Charles III Stakes (1600m) as of 2023.
The 7 Stakes offers the winner a ballot exemption into the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) at the same track and trip a fortnight later and the 7 Stakes – Epsom Handicap double is now a popular spring punt.
Think It Over was the inaugural 7 Stakes winner in 2023.
In 2024 Fangirl improved on her third the year before to salute for the punters as the $1.75 favourite.
Fangirl became the event’s official first two-time winner with a successful title defence in 2025.
