The event was renamed and revamped as the $2 million The Ingham in 2022 with the successful horses from 2022 onwards known as The Ingham Stakes winners.
The 2022 The Ingham winner was the John O’Shea-trained Kirwan’s Lane ($21) who scored a notable upset defeating his even longer-priced stablemate Lion’s Roar ($51).
The 2023 The Ingham winner was the Kris Lees-trained The Gong runner-up Loch Eagle ($18) who scored an upset victory off a wide run from out in gate 18 after just making the field as the third emergency.
The 2024 The Ingham winner was the Bjorn Baker-trained Festival Stakes runner-up Robusto ($26) who hit the lead a furlong out and held on for a narrow upset.
The 2025 The Ingham winner was five-year-old Snitzel gelding Yorkshire ($3.90F) for trainers John O’Shea & Tom Charlton with jockey Zac Lloyd aboard on 53kg from barrier 13 to win by 0.49 lengths on a Good (4) track in a time of 1:34.11.
