Paraguay vs France Predictions – Round of 16 Match 2

Paraguay have battled their way into the Round of 16, and they won’t be in any hurry to turn this into a shootout against France. 

The South Americans are at their best when they’re sitting in, staying compact, and making life difficult through the middle, so expect them to slow the tempo and try to frustrate Les Bleus for as long as possible. 

France, meanwhile, have weapons everywhere you look. 

Kylian Mbappe is the obvious headline act, but Ousmane Dembele and Marcus Thuram give Didier Deschamps’ side speed, movement, and plenty of danger in and around the box. 

On paper, this looks a pretty clear mismatch, but Paraguay should have enough grit to hang around early and force France to be patient, much like they had to be against Sweden. 

Still, once France find a way through, this could open up quickly.
