ROSSO LEVANTO (2) looks well placed in this Class 2 Handicap. 

The David Vandyke-trained mare found the line strongly to salute in the final strides first-up before hitting the front a touch early last start over 1650m at Doomben to finish a half-length second. 

She’ll strip fitter and won her only previous third-up race by a massive 7.4 lengths. 

She takes on this distance for the first time but looks up to it and should enjoy a nice run on speed for Ben Thompson. 

MEDALS (1) resumes here looking to continue his excellent first-up record which stands at two wins and two seconds from five races. 

The Pat Webster-trained gelding is the class runner in this field and justifiably carries a large impost but Archie McColm’s 3kg claim is a big help. 

He loves this distance having won twice over 870m at Toowoomba last preparation in stronger races than this. 

He’s drawn well which is always an advantage over this short scamper and should race on speed. 

FIERY LASS (2) has enjoyed the move Queensland after starting her career in Sydney with Ron Quinton. 

Now in the care of Renita Beaton, the Hellbent mare opened this preparation with back-to-back thirds before storming home to win over 1300m at the Sunshine Coast last start. 

She’s at peak fitness and while she’s out of Maiden class for the first time, she faces many limited horses. 

Tiff Brooker can negate the slightly sticky barrier by using her mount’s speed to cross and either lead or settle handy.  

MAGIC MOZ (5) resumes for her second preparation after winning her only race start impressively. 

The Corey & Kylie Geran-trained mare debuted over this distance at Toowoomba in March where she settled at the tail from the wide gate before circling the feel and letting down powerfully to easily win by 1.55 lengths. 

She showed good speed in a recent trial to lead all the way and win. 

Gary ‘5G’ Geran will make full use of barrier 1 and drive forward to find a prominent position.
