From Perth, Australia to the bright lights of the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas within a week!
The show stops for nobody.
Two title fights will take place at UFC 320 with both the light heavyweight and bantamweight belts on the line.
We’ve assessed the markets on the top three fights on the main card and offer our thoughts as well as betting plays below.
This isn’t the first time these two fighters have met in the octagon with Magomed Ankalaev winning the first encounter by decision earlier this year.
It was a dominant performance from Ankalaev throughout the five rounds and Pereira simply didn’t look his usual, dangerous self and couldn’t get himself going.
Ankalaev is undefeated in his UFC career except for one last second loss when making his debut against Paul Craig in one of the most dramatic submissions we have ever witnessed inside the octagon.
He failed in his first attempt at winning UFC gold when his fight against Jan Blachowicz was judged a majority draw and was forced to go the long way around to get the belt four fights later.
Pereira is a former two division champion in kickboxing and replicated that in MMA when winning both the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight titles in the UFC.
The market suggests that Pereira’s pathway to victory is via knockout but I tend to disagree and therefore have found some value in my recommended bet.
Merab Dvalishvili’s fighting style has been a successful one not only for himself in the UFC but for many right across the sport.
The current UFC Bantamweight champion is able to control large portions of his fights through his ability to drown his opponents with his wrestling.
For the majority of his winning streak, he has failed to move through the stages of grappling to get to a position where he can end the fight but he broke that train of thought in his last fight when getting a submission in his second win over Sean O’Malley.
Cory Sandhagen has had three fights in either title eliminators or interim title fights and has lost all three.
He has been at the top of the division for the majority of his professional career but has stumbled at the wrong time.
He is an extremely awkward fighter who is capable of ending the fight with one strike or submission attempt but I feel this fight will go the distance with the champion doing enough in the points department.
Just like Alex Pereira, Jiri Prochazka had great success in another promotion before entering the UFC and skyrocketed to the top of the sport once arriving.
He was a light heavyweight champion in RIZIN before coming over to the UFC before beating Glover Teixeira to win the light heavyweight belt.
His only two losses in the UFC have been to Alex Pereira but a win here may see him get another chance.
Khalil Rountree won five fights in a row to earn him a shot at Alex Pereira’s belt, a fight he lost in the fourth round by TKO.
He was far from disgraced in that fight and showed plenty of courage to last until the fourth round but was ultimately outclassed.
I can see this fight going a very similar way.
