DOMINATOR (3) looks ready to strike in what should be a more suitable race than the two Sydney assignments he has tackled to date, even allowing for the fact he is still a two-year-old.
The Michael Freedman-trained colt had little luck on debut over this distance at Randwick, where he was stuck behind the leader on the rail and never got clear air when he needed it.
He then showed excellent early speed last start over 1250m at Canterbury, taking up the running before weakening late to finish 1.61 lengths fourth.
Back in trip, fitter again third-up, and possessing the gate speed to cross from the outside barrier, the Michael Freedman-trained youngster looks well placed for Ben Thompson.

| Raced twice to date. At long odds at debut, ran second last of 10 at Randwick 2yo Hcp on April 25 over 1100m, 5 len behind Bangkok Hottie carrying 56.5kg at $31. Second-up 4th of 9 at Canterbury 2yo C&G Mdn-Sw on June 8 over 1250m, on a slow track; 1.5 len behind The Machine Gun carrying 56kg at $9. Only needs to raise the bar a little to open his account. | |||
This shapes as a tricky Maiden Plate over 2070m, with several runners having already had plenty of chances to break their maiden.
SECRET FENKEL (7) brings the right platform into this, having placed in four of his six starts, and his latest effort over 2200m at the Gold Coast had plenty of merit.
The Marcus Wilson-trained gelding was posted with the outside barrier, couldn’t get across, and was forced to settle at the tail, which ultimately cost him victory given how powerfully he finished from a long way back to run 2.35 lengths second.
He is rock hard fit now, maps far better from this draw, and with limited speed engaged, Boris Thornton should be able to put the Marcus Wilson-trained gelding much closer in the run.

| Last start 2nd of 10 at Gold Coast Mdn-Sw on June 13 over 2200m, on heavy track; 2.5 len behind She Can Soar with 58kg at $2.10. Before that 4th of 12 at Ipswich 3yo Hcp on May 21 over 2180m, on rain affected going; 2.25 len behind Norty Forty carrying 52kg at $21. Ready to break through. | |||
BRAVEHEART (1) finds a very suitable race after producing a strong effort in better grade over 1200m at Ipswich last start.
The Tony Gollan-trained gelding led them up there and was only grabbed late, finishing just under a length away while defeating subsequent Saturday winner Zoustrology.
He is at peak fitness and has been consistently around the mark since winning four starts ago.
The 3kg claim for Leah Martyn is a key positive, and from the inside gate, the Tony Gollan-trained runner should get every chance to roll forward and make his presence felt on speed.

| Full-brother to Group 2 winner King Of Sparta. Last start gave a sight but was run down late 2nd in a small field at Ipswich Cg&E Cl2-Sw on June 4 over 1200m, on a slow track; 0.7 len behind Fire Bomber with 58kg at $4.40. The race before that eased back early on 3rd in a small field at Gold Coast C4-Sw on May 22 over 1000m, on a slow track; 2 len behind Sunrise carrying 57kg at $3.70. Tough to beat. | |||
CRASH THE PARTY (7) looks extremely well placed back in Maiden grade after tackling a much tougher race last start, finishing 4.48 lengths from Earn To Burn in the Listed Queensland Day Stakes.
The Toby Edmonds-trained filly was terrific fresh over 1200m at the Gold Coast the run before, charging home to finish a half-length second to Sylph, with nearly five lengths back to third.
The stable has clearly got an opinion of her given she’s been tested in far stronger company, and third-up back at this level looks a recipe for a big performance.
Drawn well for Daniel Moor, she gets her chance to crash through.

| Third-up today and placed third-up previously. First-up came from the tail of the field 2nd of 10 at Gold Coast 3yo Mdn-Sw on May 22 over 1200m, on a slow track; 0.5 len behind Sylph with 56kg at $3.70. Second run from a spell 13th of 17 at Eagle Farm in the LR Qld Day on June 6 over 1200m, 4.5 len behind Earn To Burn carrying 55kg at $31. Certainly worth another chance. | |||
