It’s Round 2 in The Rugby Championship and didn’t the opening round shock the world with the Wallabies and All Blacks both getting big wins.
Let’s see if the home teams can respond this weekend in the rematches.
The curse was broken by Australia ending 62 years of torment but the world champion Springboks off a loss at home is scary proposition.
The Boks have made 10 changes to the side replacing both locks after losing five lineouts.
Although the bigger change in the pack will be the enforced absence of captain Siya Kolisi.
On the Wallabies front, Fraser Mcreight will captain the side for the first time replacing the injured Harry Wilson.
Rob Valentini returns to the lineup along with speedster Corey Toole who will get his chance to debut.
Here are my plays for the match:
- Wallabies +13.5 ($1.90) – Will back Australia to be up for this one once again and keep within the number
- Corey Toole Anytime Try ($2.60) – the man is rapid and I back him for a try on debut
- South Africa Win ($1.17) – Got to take the world champions back at home off a loss.
- Over 52.5 Total Points ($1.90) – regardless both teams will play attacking rugby
The All Blacks came out firing in the opening hit out leading 31-10 at the break.
While the home side showed some glimpses of hope in the second term, the forward pack for the ABS dominated up front which let the likes of Jordan, Reece and Barett do what they do best.
Tough assignment again this weekend with the hostile local crowd and I do expect the home side to be much improved this weekend.
My plays:
- Argentina +10.5 ($1.90) – Push the men from NZ all the way
- All Blacks 1-12 ($2.90) – must work for it but get it done
- Over 56.5 Total Points ($1.90) – backing a point a shootout
