Jake Paul Is A Professional Boxer, Deal With It!

Whether you like it or not, Jake Paul is the reason why boxing is being talked about more than ever.

Paul has generated more hype for the sport than Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney and Deontay Wilder combined.

His ability to market his fights while being a universally hated athlete draws comparisons to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

No longer is Jake Paul considered just a YouTuber, a content creator or even a controversial social media star, he’s a professional boxer, deal with it!

Jake Paul Is Making Boxing Relevant Again: Boxing was slowly and surely becoming a dying sport and ratings suggest that the UFC was taking over as the best combat sport to watch over the weekend.

But when professional boxer Jake Paul made his presence known in 2020, he changed the landscape and in the process made boxing exciting to watch once again.

Dancing in the ring with the likes of Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, Ben Askren, Nate Diaz and most recently Mike Perry, “The Problem Child” deserves all the respect in the world.

Paul Has The Marketing Presence Of Floyd Mayweather: I didn’t say that very lightly, but like Mayweather, he is hated by boxing fans and is happy to play the villain.

Paul has a skill that 99% of boxers lack and that’s his incredible talent to advertise fights with his large presence on social media.

He brings a brand new audience to boxing, 18-24 year old males and females who are buying his pay-per-view or even attending his fights live to watch their hero kick ass.

The Problem Child’s pay-per-views are an affordable price, which is one many reasons as to why his generate far greater numbers than the traditional heavy hitters.

Paul Has Proven Everyone Wrong: I was one of many people who thought he would lose to Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva, but he would always come back and prove his doubters wrong.

And you may be thinking “Jake Paul doesn’t fight actual professional boxers”, but you’re completely wrong.

For his fights to be professionally sanctioned by their respected athletic commissions, all fighters are required to have a pro boxing license for one of the many boxing associations available.

By having this license, you are by definition, a professional boxer.

Everyone Is Avoiding The Problem Child: Some say he needs to fight boxers with more experience than him, but the fact of the matter is that they don’t want to.

As he’s on the journey to world championship glory, he went on to face both Andre August and Ryan Bourland who both have better records and a longer career than Paul has.

Bourland had a record of 17-2, while August had a record of 10-1-1 before stepping into the ring with Paul and both were dominated by the 27-year-old.

Paul has the mindset and the capabilities of winning a world title, but fighting former UFC fighters and scheduling one with washed-up heavyweight Mike Tyson isn’t the right road to take in order to get there.

He needs to go back to fighters like Bourland and August, far more experienced and higher ranked – if he still has the goal of becoming world champion.

Who Were Canelo Alvarez and Floyd Mayweather’s 11th fight against?: My point is simple, we can compare the careers of some of the best fighters in the world, and see that Jake Paul has had a challenging first 11 fights.

And I’m not saying he’s having a better career than two boxers who will go down as the greatest of all time, however, Paul has fought more challenging opponents in his first 11 fights in comparison to Canelo and Floyd in their first 20.

Paul has faced talented combat sports athletes who’ve been fighting all their lives and yes some of them were making their debut or were 1-0 or even 0-1, but in comparison to Canelo, his 11th fight was against a Victor Marquez who was 2-6 and Floyd Mayweather fought Felipe Garcia who’s record was 14-18 when they crossed paths.

The point I’m making is simple, two of the best boxers of all time fought boxers with negative records, and yet people are being very critical of “The Problem Child” for fighting a 32-year-old who’s taking over Bare Knuckle Boxing.

The Reality Of Jake Paul’s Presence In Combat Sports: You may be a fan of Jake Paul, you may not be, but his involvement and passion for boxing, fair pay and his drive to make women’s boxing popular are some of the many reasons why Jake Paul is making boxing better for the fans and the fighters.
