Calls to outlaw Philly’s “Brotherly Shove”, a distinct lack of Taylor Swift and a mass breakout of stone hands in Baltimore is what the scriptwriters had for us in Week 5.
The NFL is truly blink and you’ll miss it stuff, we are now a third of the way into the season and it feels like just yesterday I was counting down the days till kickoff.
The Packers & Steelers are the only two teams on a bye this week so make sure you’ve set your fantasy lineup accordingly.
I’ve run my eyes over each market, simulated each game in Madden and checked the waiver wire for fantasy studs.
Here is my preview of Week 6 of the NFL.
Finally we get an exciting team playing in the TNF Primetime spot but of course, they’re going up against the dismal Denver Broncos.
Mahomes may be without superstar tight end Travis Kelce who tweaked his ankle in week 5. Given the short turnaround he may not be good to go in time for this one.
Denver have one of the worst defences in the league but backing a Chiefs receiver is a genuine dart throw.
Mahomes shares the love to every single skill player and if your name isn’t Travis Kelce, I’ll struggle to back you with any confidence.
Rookie WR Rashee Rice has seen the second most targets from Mahomes this year and the bookies haven’t quite caught on yet.
He was $6.40 to score a touchdown last week (which we found, pays to read these previews).
If Kelce is a no go, I will be back Rice once again for yardage and a score.
SGM $8.54
- Chiefs 14+ @ $2.10
- Rashee Rice Over 30.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.80
- Rashee Rice Anytime Touchdown @ $4.50
I’m not panicking about the Ravens’ drop problems last week like a lot of analysts are.
Sometimes you just have a bad week and these professional athletes are paid the big bucks to move on fairly quickly.
The Ravens are $1.48 favourites over the Titans who I think are having a serious identity crisis.
Baltimore have the potential to go seriously deep into the playoffs this year and I think a wake up call like they had last week may be what they need to really knuckle down for the back end of this season.
I think they go back to their roots this week, give me Lamar rushing overs and overs on Mark Andrews.
My Bets
- Ravens -4 @ $1.90
- Lamar Jackson Over 40+ Rushing Yards
- Mark Andrews Over 70+ Receiving Yards
- Mark Andrews Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Cleveland get the pleasure of coming off the bye and hosting the 49ers who I have decided are my new pick to win the Super Bowl this year.
The Browns are massive $3.05 underdogs at home and I believe that’s pretty fair.
Who is stopping San Francisco this year? They’ve won 17 of their last 18 games and are 5.5 point favourites here.
Cleveland will need a big game from Deshaun and Amari Cooper if they want to keep up with the 49ers but I don’t see it happening.
My Bets
- 49ers -6 @ $1.94
- Brandon Aiyuk 70+ Receiving Yards
- George Kittle Anytime Touchdown
We finally saw the Bengals we have become accustomed to last week.
True to his word, Ja’Marr Chase was always open and balled out with a massive 15 Rec, 192 Yards, 3 TDs performance.
The Seahawks have a better defense than Arizona and are $2.25 underdogs against Cincy.
Every game up until last week I think we saw how badly the calf injury was effecting Burrow but I think he’s truly healed up now and be able to return to the Joe Shiesty that we all know and love.
Last week lit a fire in the Bengals and I see them keeping up that momentum for the rest of the season.
My Bets
- Bengals -3 @ $1.94
- Joe Burrow 250+ Passing Yards
- Ja’Marr Chase 80+ Receiving Yards
Miami are the most exciting team to watch this year and could seriously beat up on this Carolina outfit.
Bryce Young and the Panthers looked much improved last week but the Dolphins are first in the league for pass yards and rush yards and should run riot on the only winless team in the league.
The injury to De’Von Achane will slow the rush yards down slightly but Tyreek Hill is still on this team.
Dolphins 14+, Tyreek Hill 200 Yards (just kidding, unless…)
My Bets
- Dolphins Alternate Line -16.5 @ $2.20
- Tua Tagovailoa 300+ Passing Yards
- Tyreek Hill 100+ Receiving Yards
Apologies to the Falcons last week, I had them losing to the Texans and they certainly proved me wrong.
This week they take on a Commies team that just got blown out by the Chicago Bears who could potentially finish with the first two picks in the draft.
I’m yet to see anything that gets me hyped about Washington and I think the Falcons will further prove my point here this weekend.
Falcons 14+ @ $4.50 looks value if you ask me.
My Bets
- Falcons -2.5 @ $1.90
- Bijan Robinson 70+ Rushing Yards
- Drake London 50+ Receiving Yards
My candidate for “Sneaky Good Game” for week 6 (RIP Neds NFL Punting Podcast)
I’ve really enjoyed the football that the Texans have played this year and the Saints are coming off a shutout win over the Patriots.
I’m struggling to split these two sides, I can make a case for both of them which leads me towards a play on the total points.
Kamara looks incredible, Michael Thomas has been very consistent this year and Stroud should be the front runner for OROTY.
Each of the Saints’ last 11 games have gone UNDER the total match points line but I’m not buying it, with these two offenses I’m with the overs.
My Bets
- Over 42.5 Points @ $1.90
- Alvin Kamara 80+ Rushing Yards
- Nico Collins 60+ Receiving Yards
A month ago if I saw this match up I would’ve not even thought about it. “Vikings 14+, JJettas for 150 Yards and 2 Tds”.
Fast forward to Week 6 however and I think I’m talking myself into Chicago.
The Vikings are without Justin Jefferson for at least four weeks after he did his hamstring last week and the Bears are coming off a prime time dismantling of the Commanders.
The Bears are $2.10 underdogs at home but what do the Vikings have going for them?
Their run game is inefficient, their defence hasn’t been it this year and their offensive line is on a mission to get Kirk Cousins killed.
I’m with the Bears here, I can’t believe it but I am with the Bears.
My Bets
- Bears H2H @ $2.15
- Justin Fields 275+ Passing Yards
- DJ Moore Anytime Touchdown Scorer
The Colts will be without rookie QB Anthony Richardson for at least a few games due to the ankle injury he picked up in last weeks game.
The Colts would’ve already been underdogs against this Jags side but it makes things a lot harder this week.
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags are cooking and have earned that $1.48 favourite price.
Travis Etienne also looks like a top 5 running back in the league.
I think they have their way with Indianapolis in this one.
My Bets
- Jaguars (-4) @ $1.90
- Calvin Ridley 70+ Receiving Yards
- Travis Etienne 70+ Rushing Yards
Two teams that haven’t really earned my respect yet this season battle it out on the first game on the 6:05am slot here in Aus.
The Raiders pass game has been far better than I expected this year, I didn’t expect two receivers to be gambling/ fantasy relevant but both Davante Adams & Jakobi Meyers have been very reliable for punters and fantasy owners alike.
The Pats on the otherhand have just been sad, there’s no other way to say it.
I’m with the Raiders here, I’d love the Patriots to prove me wrong but I’ve seen nothing from them yet to be willing to put my money or my reputation as an expert Neds punter behind them.
My Bets
- Raiders 14+ @ $4.25
- Jakobi Meyers 50+ Receiving Yards
- Davante Adams 60+ Receiving Yards
It’s an NFC West clash but the bookies like the Rams to get it done comfortably over the Cards.
Stafford and the Rams proved last week that there is room at the table for both Kupp & Nacua – now they come up against a team that gave Ja’Marr Chase almost 200 yards? Blow out alert.
The injury to James Conner will really hurt the Cardinals as well, I see a big score getting run up here.
My Bets
- Rams 14+ @ $2.75
- Puka Nacua 70+ Receiving Yards
- Cooper Kupp 70+ Receiving Yards
Coming off a win, the Jets will be up against it in their Week 6 matchup. Can they stop Philly from starting 6-0? Signs point to no.
Philly once again look like the real deal this year and are $1.33 to get the win in this one.
Does the Jets D have an answer for the Brotherly Shove or the Tush Push? I doubt it.
I’ve already tipped too many 14+ scores here so I’m just with Philly to cover.
My Bets
- Eagles -7 @ $1.90
- D’Andre Swift 70+ Rushing Yards
- Devonta Smith 60+ Receiving Yards
The Buccs come of the bye and will be up against it when they take on the Lions.
Baker and Tampa have already exceeded expectations this season but I think this matchup against the Lions could be a bit too tall of a task.
The Lions have covered the line in 13 of their last 15 games and I’m struggling to make a case for TB here.
My Bets
- Lions -3 @ $1.90
- Amon-Ra St Brown Anytime Touchdown Scorer
- David Montgomery 80+ Rushing Yards
Have you seen clips of those PeeWee Football vs Mascot games where the mascots obliterate the kids?
That’s basically what this games going to be.
Bills 14+, take your pick for TD Scorers
My Bets
- Bills -14 @ $1.90
- Stefon Diggs 100+ Receiving Yards
- Gabe Davis Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Maybe I was wrong about the Cowboys.
I’ve sung their praises all season but they’ve only beaten the Giants, Jets & Patriots and have now lost to the Cardinals and 49ers.
The Cowboys are somehow favourites against the Chargers but I’m not buying it. The Chargers have looked like a way better team this year.
$2.10 for Herbert and the boys is value
My Bets
- Chargers H2H @ $2.10
- Keenan Allen 80+ Receiving Yards
- Keenan Allen Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Another week, another 4/5.
Bijan let us down last week but thats ok. The show goes on!
I’ve run my eyes over the matchups once again this week and put together a fantasy team multi with yardage markets from favourable games.

- Quarterback: Patrick Mahomes Over 250+ Passing Yards ✓
- Runningback: David Montgomery 60+ Rushing Yards ✓
- Runningback: Bijan Robinson 60+ Rushing Yards x
- Wide Receiver: Ja’Marr Chase 70+ Receiving Yards ✓
- Wide Receiver: Christian Watson 60+ Receiving Yards ✓
- Multi: $7.50
Week 6’s Fantasy team looks like this:
- Quarterback: Patrick Mahomes Over 250+ Passing Yards vs The Broncos
- Runningback: Tony Pollard 60+ Rushing Yards vs The Chargers
- Runningback: Alvin Kamara 60+ Rushing Yards vs The Texans
- Wide Receiver: Cooper Kupp 70+ Receiving Yards vs The Cardinals
- Wide Receiver: Calvin Ridley 70+ Receiving Yards vs The Colts
