The Supercars Eseries returns for Round 6 on Wednesday night as the V8 drivers jump on a virtual flight across the globe to Austin, Texas the home of the Circuit of the Americas.
The regular grid will be graced with the presence of six wild car drivers including, former V8 Supercar Champions Craig Lowndes and Garth Tander, F1 young gun Lando Norris and the return of Aussie IndyCar driver Will Power.
Once again our in-house Gear Head Guru has critically analysed the All Star grid and extracted his best betting plays to share with the punters below!
The Circuit of the Americas has been the home of the United States Grand Prix since 2012
Along with the F1 the 5.5km track has hosted it’s fair share of other prestigious racing meets such as, IndyCar Series, World Endurance Championship, MotoGP and even an Aussie V8 Supercars meet in 2013, of which Jamie Whincup took out three of the four races!
As it stands Scott McLaughlin sits atop of the All Stars Leaderboard, closely followed by Cameron Waters and Shane van Gisbergen, then there’s a healthy dose of daylight occupying fourth.
McLaughlin may be on top but van Gisbergen is currently the man to beat, the Kiwi driver has won more races than his countryman (5 to 4), with all of his victories coming within the last 11 starts.
The starting positions of Race 1 at the Circuit of the Americas will determined by a Amor All Qualifier, of which Shane has claimed pole position in four of nine attempts, whereas Scott is yet to line up at the top of the grid.
I’m tipping Shane van Gisbergen to take a step toward securing the maiden All Star Eseries Drivers Championship with his sixth win of the tour here.
Outside Chances:
Lando Norris $4.33
If you’re after a little more bang for your buck, then Lando Norris is your boy. The 20 year old British Driver has been dubbed as a future F1 World Champion.
The McLaren Driver finished 8th in the US GP, ahead of the like of Daniel Riccardo and Nico Hulkenburg and will no doubt feel comfortable on the simulated version of the track.
Jamie Whincup $51.00
Another driver who will be quietly confident heading into round 6 will be former Circuit of the Americas V8 Supercars winner Jamie Whincup.
After taking out his first virtual checkered flag in Race 14, Whincup will feel like he has a slight edge of the rest of the field, boasting the most wins at the foreign raceway.
