The 2024 The Goodwood winner was the Jason Warren-trained Hellbent mare Benedetta ($6) who won by a head on the line improving on her Robert Sangster Stakes third to earn a trip to Brisbane targeting the Stradbroke Handicap thanks to a gun ride by Ms Jamie Kah.

Black Heart Bart (2016) was the last favourite in The Goodwood betting to salute with plenty of recent upsets including Santa Ana Lane ($26 in 2018), Despatch ($21 in 2019), Savatoxl ($19 in 2021), Lombardo ($18 in 2022) and the filly Royal Merchant ($18 in 2023).
