Run over 1,200 metres, The Goodwood is a Group 1 race taking place at Morphettville Racecourse. Carrying a prize purse of $1,000,000 as of 2024, it attracts a lot of sprinting talent from all over the nation.
Previously a handicap race, this race changed over to set weights with penalties in 2007. It is the premier sprint race on Adelaide’s autumn racing calendar.
A time-honoured classic run and won since 1881, The Goodwood has been taken out by a host of turf greats over the years including the undefeated queen of racing Black Caviar (2012).

2025 The Goodwood Day takes place on Saturday the 10th of May 2025 with four Group 3 support acts on the card with the running of the:
