MISTRESS OF MAYFAIR (11) looks ready for a bold showing on debut after five jump outs across several preparations.

Her most recent two on heavy tracks have been very good, leading all the way in the latest and running on strongly in the one prior, with that adaptability handy from the tricky draw.

The Matt Laurie-trained filly appears to have the right foundation for this first race start.

Meeting an average field, she looks well placed to kick off with a win.

SEVEN DAY REBELS (10) was well beaten by a smart winner in Pachenko on debut at Bendigo, with that horse starting favourite at Flemington on Saturday.

Regardless, the Jerome Hunter-trained gelding ran very well to lead and finish second beaten 5.25 lengths, easily holding the rest of the field on a heavy track.

He should take good improvement from that first race experience.

Maps to get a great run and looks a strong chance to go one better.

NGONGOTAHA (7) was strong over this course and distance last start when second beaten 2 lengths behind Overpriced, who was sent around in a strong three-year-old race at Flemington on Saturday.

Prior to that, he worked home well at Donald when second beaten 1.75 lengths over 1350m.

His recent form stands out in what looks a pretty thin maiden.

Having done all his racing on wet or heavy tracks, conditions are no issue.

TRANGOOJAHRAY (3) ran well first-up at Sandown Lakeside when fourth beaten 2.5 lengths over 1500m, looming before peaking late on heavy ground.

She drops back to non-metro class here and should take good improvement from that return.

The Enver Jusufovic-trained mare won her only previous second-up run at Pakenham over this distance, scoring by 1.75 lengths.

With genuine early speed and added fitness, she looks nicely placed to improve.
