Last week saw dynasties end, ACLs pop, playoff dreams clinched and other dashed. Now we’re in the good game, bad game part of the season where some teams will play themselves into playoffs and others might play themselves out of top draft picks.
Here are my tips for Week 16 of this wild and hard to pick NFL season
TNF and it’s MASSIVE for the NFC!
Rams are 11-3 and just clinched a playoff spot after that incredible win over the Lions. Bad news? Davante Adams is gone. They’re the 1 seed right now but this division is TIGHT.
Seahawks are coming off a weird win over the Colts where they kicked SIX field goals including the 56-yard game winner.
A bit embarassing for a top flight offence to not get a TD so surely that doesn’t happen again?
At Lumen Field on a short week with Adams out? I’m tempted but I’ll stear clear of results and back a big day through the air.
Saturday football! Eagles finally snapped that 3-game losing streak by shutting out the Raiders 24-0.
They’re 9-5 now but still lead the NFC East by just 1.5 games over Dallas but its over, they’ve clinched.
Commanders ended their 8-game losing streak last week but they’re done and have put QB Daniels on ice for the rest of the year.
Philly should handle this easily on the road.
Saturday night divisional showdown!
Bears are 10-4 and lead their division after demolishing the Browns 31-3 and they’ve now got their first 10-win season since 2018!
Packers just lost to the Broncos, lost Micah Parsons to an ACL, Christian Watson is out again and they’ve dropped behind the Bears in the North.
Packers really need this and heading to Soldier Field with the Bears riding high and the Packers banged up? I’m taking Chicago to make a statement.
Bills are now within ONE GAME in the AFC East race and being dished up the Browns is a gift from the football gods.
Browns are 3-12 after getting destroyed 31-3 by the Bears. Shedeur Sanders is getting reps but this team is cooked.
Bills to cruise and a lot of pressure on the Pats later this week
The two teams that slayed the kings and ENDED THE CHIEFS DYNASTY!
The Chargers have a clear playoff path and its all in their hands as for the Cowboys? They screwed the pooch and are pretty much over.
I think the boys will put up a fight but the odds for Chargers are a smart punters dream.
The dynasty is DEAD. Chiefs lost to the Chargers 16-13 and are ELIMINATED from the playoffs for the first time since 2014. Worse?
Patrick Mahomes TORE HIS ACL and is done for the season. This is devastating.
Titans are 2-13 but Cam Ward looked alright last week take the upset here because why not?
But for real? Chiefs could be nasty here with Minshew.
Don’t watch this game. Its gonna be yuck.
The Saints have been fun playing spoiler for the past 3 weeks and I think they will handle the Jets.
But wowee this is a poo slinger.
Thanks to the Cowboys defence, JJ McCarthy looks like he has something…but are we all convinced?
Not a big enough sample size for me but the Vikings defence is handy.
Giants have nothing to play for and losing just puts them in a great position to trade a top pick for a kings ransom next year
So they will do the most Giants thing ever… and win.
This is awesome. Both teams tied at the top of the division and will play each other twice in 3 weeks to decide it.
Bryce Young is doing just enough to keep his side moving and the ground game is undeniable for Carolina
The Bucs have had this division in their hands multiple times and have let it slip. Injuries have played a role but they are in a no excuses spot this week.
Evans was fired up last week and I think he does the same. Bucs to win but boy this could go either way
Patriots are 11-3 but lost to the Bills 35-21 and with that Buffalo hot on their heels!
Ravens are 7-7 and in their own desperate race to make the playoffs.
Lots on the line here and even though its a Ravens home game, I can go past the value of a Pats underdog in this one.
Bo Nix is the TRUTH and the Denver defence is a beast.
This could shape up to be a very fun game. The Jags have been a side I just can’t let go of and it feels like FINALLY Lawrence is doing what Coach Coen is asking of him
Run heavy could be their strategy against the Broncos but I’m not sure it’ll be enough to stop Denver extending to a 12 game streak.
My pick to win the Super Bowl could make another statement here.
Falcons shocked the Bucs 27-24 with Kyle Pitts going OFF (3 TDs!) and a game-winning FG as time expired.
They’re 6-9 now but still eliminated. Cardinals are 3-12 and cooked.
Battle of the dropouts – Cards defence has had some sneaky good games so I’ll take the under.
I’m gonna come out and say it. I’m sick of the Steelers.
If these guys win the division its a waste of a playoff spot.
Lions need to put this thing to bed and they have the fire power to do it.
Top 5 Offence and Goff will hit 4000 passing yards with a big game here.
Texans is another defence that is MEEEEAN and its been making up for the big shortfalls on offence
Lucky for Houston, CJ Stroud has returned to being a servicable QB so now they have a shot at the playoffs with the AFC South becoming very tight.
Raiders…what to say about the Raiders? They suck. Worse team in the league. Need a QB, new coach, new owner and need this season to end.
Two teams with two QBs in two weird but very difference spots
So here’s what I think is happening with Burrow.
The talk is he might want to stop playing football but then he said he loves playing ball.
It seems to me that the Bengals brass wanted him to sit the rest of the year after the turf toe injury. He said now and out them in a position to steal their division.
That ship has sailed but he still wants to play ball and I dare say is getting massive push back which now has him thinking of going to a real NFL organisation instead of the happless Bengals.
As for Tua? Those concussion did a lot of damage and the guilt of letting that little bloke get is brain turned to mush has meant the Phins gave him a massive contract (he’s owed over 110million) and kept him on the field for too long.
Tua is now the emergancy QB and Rookie Quinn Ewers QB (Texas Hook em Horns) will take over and I think he will have a fun game.
Last week’s Phil Rivers experience was fun but not good football.
The Colts had done a great job of becoming a serious franchise this year and even changed our minds about Daniel Jones but this Phil Rivers at QB thing? You can’t be serious.
49ers are going to show why the Colts should’ve gone and got a backup who had played in the last 5 years.
