Neds’ Wyong Best Bets for Thursday spotlights the runners primed to perform.
SHORT SEA (3) debuted in fine style over 1150m on the Kensington track and looks well placed back at the provincials.
The Kris Lees-trained colt was no match for winner Royal Air Force but worked home strongly to finish 2.69 lengths second.
He was doing his best work late so the rise to 1350m with increased fitness and experience will suit.
Andrew Atkins should be able to settle just off what looks like a decent speed.

ONMALONE (2) returned in excellent order with a win over 1200m here last start.
The Ryan & Alexiou-trained gelding settled handy before letting down nicely to win with something in hand by just under a length with near three lengths to third.
He’ll strip fitter second-up and was stiff not to win his only previous second-up race when copping a significant bump and finishing a length third.
He maps to settle in a prominent position.

TOTOKA (7) appreciated the drop in class when winning in dominant fashion here last start.
The Paul Perry-trained mare weaved a passage through the pack before putting her rivals away with ease to win the 1200m contest by 2.14 lengths.
The only previous time she raced over this course and distance she charged home to miss the win by a head.
With several go forward horses drawn wide, there should be good speed in the race which will aid her cause.

FIERCENESS (3) looks ready to take on a mile for the first time following an excellent performance last start.
The Matthew Smith-trained gelding settled a long way back over 1400m at Newcastle after drawing wide before running on strongly down the outside to finish just under a length second.
He’s rock hard fit and will carry just 54.5kg following the claim for Claire Ramsbotham.
There looks an abundance of speed which suits his racing style.
