The playoffs are quickly approaching!
After a massive Thanksgiving weekend slate of games, things slow down a little in Week 13.
With the Bills, Ravens, Vikings, Bears, Giants and Raiders all on byes this week I promise you there is still some football being played.
Playoff spots are still up for grabs and there are some really exciting matchups this week!
I’ve run my eyes over each market, simulated each game in Madden and checked the waiver wire for fantasy studs.
Here is my preview of Week 13 of the NFL.
With the second best NFC record in the division at the moment (but the #5 seed) the 8-3 Cowboys will host the 6-5 #6 seed Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle are currently in the playoffs but have lost two on the trot and are $1.20 to make that three.
The Cowboys on the other hand are on a three game winning streak and are coming off a 45-10 belting of their NFC East rivals the Commanders.
The Cowboys should be far too good for Seattle, Geno’s been really good in flashes but has been too inconsistent or me to believe they are a true playoff calibre team. Now they take on the Dallas defence that has been incredibly tough all year.
Cowboys should win this comfortably.
Cowboys -9.0 @ $1.90
SGM $4.88
- Dak Prescott 250+ Passing Yards $1.38
- CeeDee Lamb 75+ Receiving Yards
- Jake Ferguson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
The Steelers look like an incredibly refreshed team after the firing of OC Matt Canada.
Just a week after the Steelers fired their offensive coordinator, the Steelers went for 421 yards of total offense.
This week they take on the 2-10 Cardinals who have certainly struggled this year but Kyler has been a breath of fresh air for this franchise.
Kyler has rushed in a touchdown in each of his three games back and is averaging 239 pass yards per game.
I think this game could be closer than the bookies are giving the Cardinals credit for and I like them to cover.
My Bets
- Cardinals +5.5 @ $1.90
- Kyler Murray 225+ Passing Yards
- Kenny Picket 250+ Passing Yards
- Kyler Murray Anytime Touchdown Scorer
It’s an AFC South matchup that could well and truly disappoint, lucky it’s hidden in the 4am schedule.
Both these sides have not played up to their expectations this season and somehow the Colts are $1.83 favourites even though they will be without running back Jonathan Taylor.
I’m with the Titans in this one, Tennessee have won five of their last six games against the Colts and their win over the Panthers last week should hopefully show them that feeding Derrick Henry is a proven winning formula.
My Bets
- Titans H2H @ $2
- Derrick Henry 75+ Rushing Yards
- Derrick Henry Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Miami will head to Washington and boy do they love beating up on teams with losing records.
The home team Commies are $4.60 to get it done over Miami but It’s hard to make a case for anything but the Dolphins 14+.
It’s looking more and more likely that Dolphins’ RB De’Von Achane will return from injury and I want a huge piece of him & Tyreek in this game.
The Dolphins have covered the line in each of their last eight games against teams that held a losing record.
I’m taking 14+ for the extra value.
My Bets
- Dolphins 14+ @ $2.25
- Tyreek Hill 90+ Receiving Yards
- De’Von Achane 60+ Rushing Yards
It’s my job to stay up to date with the NFL and keep you punters in the know but even I didn’t realise that the Broncos had the best win streak in the league.
The Broncs have won five in a row against the Packers, Chiefs, Bills, Vikings and Browns and now they take on the Texans who have been great this year but can they stop this Broncos team?
Denver look crazy value for a team that’s won five in a row. They’re $2.60 to win and I think they could do it.
Only two teams have traveled to Houston and won this year, the Jags and the Colts but I’m with Denver to make it a third.
Broncos Country, let’s ride
My Bets
- Broncos H2H @ $2.60
- Russell Wilson 250+ Passing Yards
- CJ Stroud 250+ Passing Yards
- Courtland Sutton 60+ Receiving Yards
- Courtland Sutton Anytime Touchdown
The NFC South is wide open. The Falcons sit atop of it on 5-6 and a win against the Jets here would go a long way for their playoff hopes.
ATL are $1.67 favourites on the road here and it’s looking like they’re finally starting to utilise the offensive weapons they spent a earlier draft picks on.
Bijan in the last two weeks has had 90+ yards and at least one TD in each game. Maybe Arthur Smith has finally realised that giving the ball to his RB could be the key to winning.
The Falcons have failed to cover the line in each of their last seven games against AFC opponents, the Jets defense is great but the line is only 2.5 points. I don’t see this being a one point game.
ATL to cover.
My Bets
- Falcons -2.5 @ $1.90
- Bijan Robinson 75+ Rushing Yards
- Bijan Robinson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
SURELY. SURELY the Chargers can get a win here right?
The Chargers have lost three in a row and now take on the Patriots who truly could be the worst team in football.
This should be the game that the Chargers need to show everyone what they’re truly capable of but I could also see a world where the Chargers defense plays Mac Jones back into form.
The Chargers are a way better team than their 4-7 record suggests and I think they show that here.
My Bets
- Chargers -6 @ $1.90
- Keenan Allen 75+ Receiving Yards
- Austin Ekeler Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Are the Saints a good team? I actually want to know.
They’ve lost two in a row to the Vikings and Falcons but dropped 38 points on the Colts and shut out the Patriots.
It’s going to be a tough ask this week against the 8-3 Lions, Detroit will be ready to make amends for the shock loss against the Packers last week and could well and truly inflict some serious pain on the Saints.
The Saints have failed to cover the line in each of their last six home games, Lions to cover (and a little flirt on the Lions 14+ @ $3.90 might not be a bad shout either)
My Bets
- Lions -4.5 @ $1.90
- Lions 14+ @ $3.90
- Jared Goff 275+ Passing Yards
- Sam LaPorta Anytime Touchdown
The Panthers just cleaned house after their loss to the Titans. Sacking Head Coach Frank Reich and QB Coach Josh McCown.
There is often a trend where teams rally and win after they sack their coach but this could be one of the rare occasions that doesn’t happen.
The Panthers flat out can’t protect Bryce and I will wait to see if their interim Coach can draw up plays that actually utilise him.
On the other hand, I like what the Buccs have done this year, despite their 4-7 record I think they’ve played well and should cover against the sad sad team that Carolina is.
My Bets
- Buccaneers -5.5 @ $1.90
- Baker Mayfield 250+ Passing Yards
- Rachaad White Anytime Touchdown
Easily the best game of the round and what could be a preview of the conference final this year.
Both these sides are absolutley killing it. Philly are 10-1 and the 9ers have the #2 seed with a record of 8-3.
Head to head, the Eagles are $2.30 underdogs which is just insane to me. The Eagles have won each of their last 11 games at Lincoln Financial Field against teams that held a winning record and even though the 49ers defense is incredible. I don’t think they will have an answer for anything the Eagles are doing at the moment.
The under seems like a smart play for me as well, especially with two teams that play really good defense. Each of the last five games between the 49ers and Eagles have gone UNDER the total match points line.
My Bets
- Eagles H2H @ $2.30
- Under 46.5 Points
- Christian McCaffrey 75+ Rushing Yards
- AJ Brown 60+ Receiving Yards
The injury cloud has really set in over Cleveland. They are a MESS.
It’s hard to say who will actually get rolled out for them this week against the Rams and I think the market reflects that. The Rams are $1.52 to win while the Browns are $2.55.
LA are still in the race for a playoff spot, they’re 5-6 and are a massive chance of winning this one.
Cooper Kupp has been incredibly disappointing this season but runningback Kyren Williams was huge in his return from IR last week. 200 total yards and 2 touchdowns for him.
The Rams have failed to cover the line in each of their last nine games at SoFi Stadium following a win & The Browns have won each of their last seven games following a loss but I’m not buying those betting trends, I think we see those streak broken in this one.
My Bets
- Rams -3.5 @ $1.90
- Kyren Williams 60+ Rushing Yards
- Kyren Williams Anytime Touchdown
Fresh off a win over the Lions the Packers will host the Chiefs in Lambeau.
It was a return to form for the Chiefs last week. Mahomes had 298 Yards for two TDs and rookie Rashee Rice had his breakout game, 8 Rec for 107 Yards and a TD.
The Packers should be an easy win for KC here, they’re $3 to make it two 14+ wins in a row but as I mentioned earlier, the Packers are cooking a little bit.
Jordan Love 268 yards & 3 TDs last week, Christian Watson 5 Rec for 94 Yards and a TD.
The Packers are every chance to be competitive in this game, especially against a Chiefs team that has struggled to put bad teams away this year.
My Bets
- Chiefs 1-13 @ $2.20
- Mahomes 275+ Passing Yards
- Rashee Rice 75+ Yards Receiving
Rounding out the week we have the Jaguars beating up the Bengals.
The Jaguars look to be a team building momentum at the right time in the season, they were electric last week against the Texans.
Trevor Lawrence 364 yards for 1 TD and one on the ground.
The Bengals have returned well and truely to the Bungals this year. Injuries have hit them bad and I think this will be a blowout.
My Bets
- Jaguars 14+ @ $2.60
- Calvin Ridley 75+ Receiving Yards
- Travis Etienne Anytime Touchdown
It seems like we’ve struggled this year with the Fantasy team multis but just one more win and we are back in the black!
