Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte Tips & Preview

Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte Tips & Preview

Boxing hits another exciting peak in 2022 at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sunday AEDT, when World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury defends his WBC and The Ring titles against countryman and Interim champion, Dillian Whyte.

Fury’s recent dominance in the Heavyweight division has been something to behold, and this will be his first fight since claiming another dominant win over Deontay Wilder in October, his second in succession against the Bronze Bomber.

He remains undefeated as a professional and will start this fight a clear and justifiable favourite.

Whyte’s record is less impressive, and features losses to Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin, but he has been notable mainstay in the Heavyweight division for many years, and is ultimately deserving of this shot at Fury.

If you’re a Whyte fan, there’s big value on offer for and upset here at Neds, while if you’re a Fury fan (like most of us), there’s value to be found in Rounds betting and Method Of Victory!

Fury vs Whyte Preview

Tyson Fury is undefeated as a professional and boasts a record of 32-31-0-1 ahead of this title defence.

His recent wins over Deontay Wilder have been both dominant and memorable, but his career is full of enormous performances against the world’s best heavyweights, and is arguably highlighted by his dethroning of long-term champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

His incredible agility and power are complimented by a sturdy chin, and that will be key to surviving some of the powerful shots that Whyte is likely to throw early in this fight.

Whyte’s record meanwhile stands at 30-28-2-0, with the second loss of his career coming just two fights back, at the hands of Alexander Povetkin.

He atoned for that loss with a big fourth round TKO against the same opponent in March last year, and this will therefore be his first fight in more than thirteen months.

In my opinion, Whyte rates as a ‘puncher’s chance’ in this fight, and would need to go to another level, and show skill and stamina that he hasn’t produced previously, to defeat Fury.

Fury vs Whyte Betting

It should come as no surprise that Tyson Fury has opened a dominant favourite in betting, and he is available at odds of $1.17 to win the fight (at publish). Whyte is given some hope at $5, while a draw or technical draw can be taken at $26.

Method Of Victory betting sees Fury to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification a $1.67 favourite, while Fury by Decision or Technical decision is up at $3.25.

For Whyte, KO, TKO or Disqualification looks the likeliest chance at $6, while Decision or Technical Decision can be taken at $23.

As is typically the case in big time boxing, there’s big value available in Rounds betting – Fury in the latter rounds has been popular with Neds punters all week.

Fury vs Whyte Tips

I am extremely confident that Fury will continue his unbeaten streak past Whyte on Sunday, and that is reflected in my Fury vs Whyte Tips.

The $1.17 for Fury to win is actually a touch of overs in my opinion, but it’s still too short to have something on outright, so I am instead going to load up in the Method Of Victory and Rounds betting markets.

Fury’s last two fights with Deontay Wilder have ended in the seventh and eleventh rounds respectively, and while I believe that opponent to be a stronger prospect than Whyte, I am going to give Whyte a similar amount of respect with my betting.

Back Fury to Win by KO/TKO or Disqualification @ $1.67
Back Fury to Win in Round 7 @ $12
Back Fury to Win in Round 8 @ $12
Back Fury to Win in Round 9 @ $13
