Are you looking for this year’s The Kosciuszko betting odds, field guide, race tips and info on how to bet on The Kosciuszko in 2024? The race betting experts at Neds have everything you need to know, all in the one place.
First run in 2018, The Kosciuszko is one of the newer Special Condition races run during the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival as part of the lucrative The Everest Carnival that gives away over $50 million in prize money.
Offering $2 million in stakes as of 2022, the event is the richest of its kind and is only open to NSW and ACT country-trained runners. The Kosciuszko is held on The Everest Day – host to the world’s richest turf race the Group 1 $20 million The Everest – at Royal Randwick Racecourse in mid-October.
For 2024 the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) takes place on the same day in Melbourne making for a top day of racing down under.
A sprint race over 1200m, The Kosciuszko is run at set weights plus penalties.
The Kosciuszko field limit was increased from 12 to 14 in 2019 with members of the public able to buy a ticket in the sweeps. If a member of the public holds a winning ticket, they are able to select a horse trained in country NSW and ACT and have it entered into the race.
In 2023 Front Page defended his title to become the first back-to-back The Kosciuszko winner.
Front Page returned chasing a third win in 2024 only to be run down late and cross second to the 2023 third placed Far Too Easy.
