Run over 1,200 metres, the Moreton Cup is a Group 2 race taking place at Eagle Farm Racecourse in late May or early June during the popular Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival on Queensland Oaks Day.
Formerly known as the QTC Cup, the set weights plus penalties clash offers $250,000 in prize money is now a key final lead-up into the following weekend’s Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m). Sincero (11th in 2010) however was the last Stradbroke Handicap winner to come out of the event.
The Moreton Cup winner is also exempt from ballot for the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara for the fillies and mares in mid-late June.

The Moreton Cup 2022 takes place at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday the 4th of June, 2022 as part of the 2022 Queensland Oaks Day program.
The $700,000 Queensland Oaks (2200m) is the sole Group 1 race on the card with the key support act being the Group 2 Moreton Cup (1200m) – formerly the QTC Cup.
