KING OF LIGHT (10)<\/strong>\u00a0is a very nice horse in the making after posting six wins from his first seven starts. He didn\u2019t fire in his last run last preparation, but he bounced back with a good win at Belmont last start when beating Snowdome.<\/p>\n

The 4YO gelding has more ability than most horses in this race, and although we\u2019re not sure what went wrong behind Cosmic Crusader at Group 1 level at Ascot, it looks as though he has come through the spell with flying colours.<\/p>\n

He looks like a runner who could contest big feature races in Melbourne next year, and this will be a good test to pass on Saturday. He\u2019s closing in on an odds-on price, and we expect his odds to firm on race day.<\/p>\n

Lucy Fiore will need to produce a good ride from out wide, but King of Light\u2019s class should take him close.<\/p>\n

Returns from a two-month let-up after winning the Listed Idyllic Prince (Goodwood Sprint) at Belmont Park by a length and a half first-up, travelling like the odds-on favourite and scoring with something in hand. Barrier 10 asks him to do it properly, but he is six from seven overall, unbeaten around 1400m and already a multiple winner at this track. Opts to stay in WA rather than go east, and he can bring up back-to-back wins despite being 56 days between runs.<\/td> <\/tr> <\/tbody> <\/table> <\/div>

Our Eurythmic Stakes predictions<\/strong> include the impressive WESTERN EMPIRE (11)<\/strong>, who had three runs last campaign for three wins.<\/p>\n

The 9YO might be getting long in the tooth, but he\u2019s still running at an elite level, and he has over $3.6 million in the bank, so he\u2019s an impressive thoroughbred with more wins to come at this level.<\/p>\n

He won over 1400m, 1600m, and 2000m last prep, which is a great effort, and the only concern is that the 1400m fresh up this time around against a quality field could catch him out. However, he\u2019s all class, and it would be a mistake to leave him out.<\/p>\n

His record at this track and distance is strong, and the latest trial second at Lark Hill adds readiness. The 4YO gelding is being thrown into the deep end here against a quality field, but he has three wins from seven starts, and he acquitted himself well against some strong fields when last in work.<\/p>\n

The son of Playing God will need to improve 1-2 lengths to beat the favourite, but with the right run from barrier 9, he could get a nice drag into the race and hit the line with power.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s worth backing at $13 as an each-way type, and the place money is attractive.<\/p>\n
