Man City got away with one in Game Week 1, coming from behind late to beat Bournemouth 2-1 in Enzo Maresca\u2019s first league game in charge.<\/p>\n

Palace, on the other hand, were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Everton, and now welcome a City side with plenty to prove after a less-than-convincing showing at the Etihad.<\/p>\n

Selhurst Park is never a simple road trip, but City have too much quality through the middle and enough firepower up top to eventually wear the Eagles down.<\/p>\n

Liverpool were forced to come from behind twice at St James\u2019 Park last weekend, eventually pinching a point through Dominik Szoboszlai\u2019s stoppage-time penalty.<\/p>\n

Notts Forest were on the other end of a tight one, conceding late against Leeds after struggling to create much across the 90.<\/p>\n

The Trees will make this physical and try to keep things ugly for as long as possible, but Anfield is a very different task to the City Ground. Liverpool should have too much ball, too much territory and too many runners around the box.<\/p>\n

The Cherries gave Man City a proper scare last week, leading deep into the second half before conceding twice late to leave Manchester empty-handed.<\/p>\n

Everton were one of the more impressive outfits of the opening round, beating Palace 2-0 in their first league fixture at the new ground. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Thierno Barry were both on the scoresheet, while Iliman Ndiaye looked dangerous throughout.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth have a few bodies missing and Ryan Christie is suspended, but the Vitality is rarely an easy place to go. I can see this one being a proper back-and-forth affair.<\/p>\n

The battle of the promoted sides.<\/p>\n

Coventry were outclassed by Arsenal in Game Week 1, which is not exactly a crime, while Hull pulled off the early shock of the season by beating Man United 2-0.<\/p>\n

The Tigers were organised, direct and more than happy to make the game uncomfortable against the Red Devils. That same blueprint should travel well here.<\/p>\n

Coventry will be desperate to get their season moving in front of the home fans, but Haji Wright\u2019s absence leaves them a little light up top. This feels like a tight one.<\/p>\n

There was not much to like about Spurs\u2019 3-0 loss to Brentford.<\/p>\n

Roberto De Zerbi\u2019s side were second-best from the jump, and the defensive issues that haunted them last season were back on full display. Not ideal when Newcastle are coming to town.<\/p>\n

The Toon played out a cracking 2-2 draw with Liverpool, twice taking the lead before being pegged back late. They\u2019ve also won their last two league trips to Tottenham, both by a 2-1 scoreline.<\/p>\n

Spurs should improve at home, but I still trust Newcastle more in the big moments.<\/p>\n

Chelsea kicked off the Xabi Alonso era with a 3-2 win over Fulham, but they did not exactly make life easy for themselves.<\/p>\n

Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro all found the back of the net, and that front end looks capable of causing problems for anyone this season.<\/p>\n

Brighton were the side of Game Week 1, though, absolutely dismantling Aston Villa 4-0 inside the opening half-hour. The Seagulls do have a Conference League play-off on Thursday morning to navigate, which could make selection interesting.<\/p>\n

Still, both sides have enough attacking quality to make this a belter.<\/p>\n

Leeds got their season underway with a gritty 1-0 win away to Forest, with Anton Stach\u2019s late thunderbolt the difference.<\/p>\n

The Whites were far from fluent, but three points on the road is three points on the road, and Elland Road should be absolutely bouncing for their first home fixture.<\/p>\n

Brentford were outstanding against Tottenham, putting three past the Spurs without reply and looking dangerous every time they went forward. Igor Thiago even clipped the post from the penalty spot.<\/p>\n

I like Leeds to make a contest of it, but the Bees look a little more settled at this stage.<\/p>\n

Sunderland will feel like they let one get away against Ipswich last weekend, conceding a 90th-minute Jack Clarke winner after getting themselves back level through Nilson Angulo.<\/p>\n

Fulham were beaten 3-2 by Chelsea, but there were positives in the performance. They had plenty of the ball, created chances and Gonzalo Garcia announced himself with a goal on debut.<\/p>\n

The Black Cats should come out swinging in their first home fixture of the season, while Fulham have enough quality to make this awkward. I can\u2019t split them.<\/p>\n

Man United\u2019s opening-day loss to Hull was about as bad a start as Michael Carrick could have imagined.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils had plenty of names on the pitch, but not much came of it, while Hull were more than happy to punish them for a passive performance. Old Trafford will demand a response here.<\/p>\n

Ipswich will arrive with confidence after beating Sunderland 2-1 on their Premier League return, with Emersonn and Jack Clarke getting the goals.<\/p>\n

I expect United to be far better at home, but they haven\u2019t earned the right to be trusted defensively just yet.<\/p>\n

Game Week 2 wraps with the match of the round, as Arsenal head to Villa Park looking to make it two wins from two.<\/p>\n

Villa\u2019s 4-0 loss to Brighton was an absolute disaster. They were four down inside 31 minutes, Jo\u00e3o Gomes saw red before half-time, and Unai Emery now has to pick the side up quickly before the champions come knocking.<\/p>\n

Arsenal were clinical in their 3-0 win over Coventry, with Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard all on the scoresheet. The Gunners have some defensive availability questions of their own, but their attacking unit looks as sharp as ever.<\/p>\n

Villa Park will be up for it, but I\u2019m backing Arsenal to get the job done.<\/p>\n
