ANGEL CAPITAL (3) <\/strong>rolls back into action as the 2026 Missile Stakes favourite, and the set\u2011up looks tailor\u2011made for him to launch straight into a big spring prep.<\/p>\n

The Waller camp has kept him ticking over beautifully, and the five\u2011year\u2011old looks a stronger, more complete version of the horse we saw last season.<\/p>\n

He hasn\u2019t won since his sharp first\u2011up victory at The Valley last September, but that run showed exactly what he can do fresh when he\u2019s switched on. His autumn campaign was rock\u2011solid \u2014 two Group 1 placings in Melbourne followed by a brave midfield effort in the All Aged Stakes<\/a>, finishing less than three lengths off Beiwacht over 1400m. That\u2019s elite form for a race like this.<\/p>\n

Randwick hasn\u2019t always been his favourite playground, but his four\u2011from\u2011five first\u2011up record speaks for itself, and the drop back to 1200m looks spot\u2011on after two slick trials.<\/p>\n

J\u2011Mac jumps back aboard, he\u2019s drawn perfectly in gate three, and he maps to settle just behind the speed before unleashing that trademark late surge.<\/p>\n

With likely leader Midnight Dynamite ensuring a genuine tempo, Angel Capital gets the exact race shape he thrives on.<\/p>\n

MIDNIGHT DYNAMITE (4)<\/strong> jumps into the 2026 Missile Stakes field as the likely pace influence, and punters know exactly what they\u2019re getting \u2014 raw speed, race\u2011fit form, and a horse absolutely humming through winter.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s drawn right beside the favourite and should ping the lids, take control early, and try to pinch this from the front.<\/p>\n

The Baker\u2011trained Pierata gelding has been one of the real winter success stories, and unlike Angel Capital, he thrives at Randwick.<\/p>\n

His record here is outstanding (5:3\u20112\u20110), and he\u2019s been building a seriously sharp r\u00e9sum\u00e9 across the past few months. He put away Whinchat in the Civic Stakes over 1400m, ran a brave third in the Winter Stakes<\/a>, then absolutely crushed them in the Winter Challenge<\/a>, putting three lengths on Just Folk on a Heavy track over 1500m.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s earned his crack at Group company, and while the drop back to 1200m is the one little query, he brings the fitness edge, confidence, and a stack of early market support.<\/p>\n

If he gets rolling and the chasers hesitate, he\u2019s the one who can make this very uncomfortable for the closers.<\/p>\n
