The curtain falls on the Sydney Autumn Carnival this Saturday at Randwick, with All Aged Stakes Day delivering a fitting finale to one of the nation\u2019s premier racing showcases.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A strong 10-race program headlines the afternoon, featuring two Group 1 contests alongside four Group 3 events, ensuring quality and depth across the card. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campione D\u2019italia headlines the Group 1 Champagne Stakes<\/a>, adding further intrigue to the juvenile feature, while the All Aged Stakes<\/a> boasts a cracking field.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jimmysstar returns to defend his title against fellow star and past winner Giga Kick, with added depth from Caulfield and Melbourne Cup<\/a> winner Half Yours and All Star Mile<\/a> victor Tom Kitten in what shapes as a standout contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The track is currently rated a Soft 5, though improving conditions are expected with mostly fine weather forecast, setting the stage for competitive racing throughout. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAILATA (3)<\/span><\/b>\u00a0was never on the track first-up over\u00a01200m\u00a0at Rosehill, racing three-wide throughout yet still\u00a0fighting on\u00a0well to finish\u00a01.29 lengths fourth to Audrey\u2019s Lane.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He meets the winner 2.5kg better at the weights this time around.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the Bryce Heys-trained gelding uncharacteristically led in the\u00a0Wyong\u00a0Provincial-Midway Championships qualifier last start and\u00a0that proved counter-productive as he weakened late to finish three lengths third.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019ll\u00a0strip fitter and\u00a0gets\u00a0a massively positive jockey change with James McDonald taking the ride.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There looks to be good speed in the race which should see him enjoy a nice run just off the pace from the low draw.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CRUIZINGTHESTARS (12)<\/span><\/b>\u00a0faces her toughest test to date in her young career but has so far risen to the occasion every time.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0unbeaten\u00a0Scott Collings-trained filly debuted at Goulburn three starts ago to easily win by 3.22 lengths before\u00a0returning to that venue second-up where she impressively won.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She showed her versatility last start over\u00a01300m\u00a0at Canberra where she sat off the speed before bursting through after being held up to salute by just under a length.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She\u2019s\u00a0at peak fitness and should appreciate the rise in distance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SIGNOR TORTONI (2)<\/span><\/b>\u00a0will appreciate the\u00a0drop in\u00a0class after giving an amazing account of\u00a0himself\u00a0last start in the Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes where he fought on the finish for a close third.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ron Quinton-trained gelding was a sick watch two starts back when badly held up on the fence in the Group 3 Maurice McCarten Stakes\u00a0and finishing 2.89 lengths fifth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He won back-to-back races prior to\u00a0that\u00a0including once with 61.5kg\u00a0which is a similar impost to what\u00a0he\u2019ll\u00a0carry here.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0previous\u00a0winner over this course and distance should get every chance with an\u00a0on\u00a0speed\u00a0run from barrier 3.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Peter Snowden-trained filly raced wide and at the tail\u00a0from\u00a0the car park draw\u00a0in the Group 3 P J Bell Stakes<\/a> before making a sweeping run around the turn and letting down powerfully to win by a neck.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She\u2019ll\u00a0strip fitter second-up and the rise in distance should suit given how strong she\u00a0was late.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She\u2019s\u00a0drawn to enjoy a much better run and while she rises 2kg,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0hard to see\u00a0that stopping her.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

MATIAS (1)<\/span><\/b>\u00a0was taken back\u00a0from a wide barrier\u00a0when resuming in the Phar Lap Stakes<\/a> and never really played a\u00a0part,\u00a0but he did work to the line well in the second quickest final\u00a0600m\u00a0of the race.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With a positive jockey change last start, the Ryan & Alexiou-trained gelding produced a cracking effort to storm home for a nose third in the\u00a0Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes<\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019ll\u00a0won\u00a0his only\u00a0previous\u00a0third-up race and will appreciate the rise in distance given he won the Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes last preparation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nash Rawiller will give him a sweet run from an inside barrier in the Frank Packer Plate<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

SHE\u2019S A DEALER (4)<\/span><\/b> has been given the visitor\u2019s draw in the JRA Plate<\/a>, but she arrives in Australia in excellent form.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The James & Wellwood-trained mare\u00a0was enormous in the Group 1 NZ Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes at Trentham where she worked early and never got closer than three-deep but still powered home to win\u00a0by just under a\u00a0length.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That followed up a head second in the Group 3 Wellington Cuddle Stakes where she stormed home from well back.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The rise in distance\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0faze her given she fought gamely for a two-length fifth after racing wide and making a sustained run in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks<\/a> last winter.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chris Waller-trained colt was\u00a0outstanding\u00a0two\u00a0starts ago\u00a0in the Group 1 Golden Slipper<\/a> when charging home from a long way back despite being held up to finish 2.05 lengths\u00a0fourth.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Three\u00a0starts\u00a0back\u00a0he won the Group 2 Skyline Stakes<\/a> to stamp his class.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u00a0should\u00a0enjoy the rise to a\u00a0mile\u00a0and James McDonald will give him a great run from the nice draw.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

JIMMYSSTAR (2)<\/span><\/b>\u00a0won the Group 1 All Aged Stakes last year when he managed to find a way through the traffic and\u00a0sprint\u00a0strongly to\u00a0the line.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0had much go right in two runs this preparation where he drew barrier 1 on both occasions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First-up he resented having to race inside runners in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes<\/a> before a bump\u00a0out of the gates\u00a0saw him settle a long way back last start in the Group 1 T J Smith Stakes<\/a> where he\u00a0did\u00a0his best work in the final furlong to finish 2.28 lengths fifth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The rise to\u00a01400m\u00a0is in his\u00a0favour\u00a0as is the wide barrier which will allow him to get the clear air that he craves.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chris\u00a0Waller-trained gelding gave a great sight last start in the Group 3 Doncaster Prelude<\/a> where he finished 2.2 lengths third.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Three starts ago when he last competed in this grade, he won over this distance at Rosehill.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The draw is a touch sticky, but he gets the services of James McDonald to navigate through any trouble.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
