The Sydney autumn carnival rolls on with Saturday\u2019s Family Stakes Day at Rosehill, where two Group 1 features headline a program full of depth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vinery Stud Stakes<\/a>\u00a0showcases\u00a0the best of the three-year-old fillies stepping up in trip, while the Tancred Stakes provides a true staying test for proven performers and emerging challengers alike.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a meeting that often reveals the next wave of contenders, with quality mares like Treasurethe Moment, Fangirl and Verry Elleegant all past winners of the Vinery Stud Stakes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dubai Honour returns in a bid to defend his Tancred Stakes<\/a> crown, adding further intrigue to one of the key staying contests of the carnival.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kristen Buchanan-trained mare was beaten by the outside barrier last start\u00a0in a stronger race Randwick race\u00a0when\u00a0forced to settle a long last before rocketing home in the quickest final\u00a0200m\u00a0of the meeting to finish 1.92 lengths to Cinsault who\u00a0subsequently\u00a0won the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes<\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She\u2019s\u00a0since been back to the trials where she produced a pleasing piece of work and that will have primed her up for a big performance here.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Golden Slipper<\/a> winning jockey Zac Lloyd takes the ride and should give her a nice run midfield or better behind a strong speed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fittingly the world\u2019s best jockey James McDonald takes the ride and should be able to cross from the outside barrier and settle in a prominent position.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Waterhouse & Bott-trained colt was never on the track first-up in the Inglis Millennium but still managed to finish 1.46 lengths fourth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He then looked to be working powerfully to the line in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes<\/a> only for him to weaken late due to lameness in his near foreleg\u00a0and finish just under a length fifth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An\u00a0outside barrier is far from ideal but\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0not a lot of speed in the race which should see Adam\u00a0Hyeronimus\u00a0cross and lead fairly comfortably.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ocean Park filly has gone to another level since stepping up to this distance three starts ago where she let down powerfully from the back to win the Group 2 Sir Patrick Hogan Stakes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She\u00a0possesses\u00a0a booming finish and\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0that clearly in her past two races where she came from near the tail to win the Group 2 David & Karyn Ellis Fillies Classic and the Group 1\u00a0New Zealand Oaks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now in the Chris Waller stable, she recently showed that she has settled in well with a pleasing trial.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The outside barrier\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0a concern given she faced those circumstances in each of her wins and will settle back for James McDonald anyway.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The outside barrier\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0ideal,\u00a0but we get the services of James McDonald to\u00a0navigate any trouble.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
