Rivalling a stacked All-Star Mile card in Melbourne, Randwick is set to play host to two Group 1s on Saturday, including the Randwick Guineas<\/a> between the 3YOs and the Canterbury Stakes<\/a> at weight-for-age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rain earlier in the week has us racing on a Soft 6 at the time of writing, while the added chance of a few downpours on Saturday could see a downgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our best bet can be found midway through the program with Chris Waller and James McDonald combining, before some short-priced favourites take their place in the features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wild Ruler colt put his rivals to the sword that day by close to 3.5 lengths,\u00a0showcasing\u00a0an electric turn of foot in the process to\u00a0indicate\u00a0he\u2019d\u00a0handle getting out over further.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Draws to find the box seat here from the soft gate and do no work early in the run, so he should be just as strong over the late stages with Chad Schofield sticking.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The times she ran over the final furlong tell the full story, getting right back in the run early on before improving steadily along the inside to finish 2.8 lengths away from Cinsault.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She\u2019s\u00a0a big improver second-up I\u00a0feel\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0booking of James McDonald suggests the Waller stable\u00a0think\u00a0she\u2019s\u00a0ready to handle the big\u00a0step up\u00a0to the mile now.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u00a0haven\u2019t\u00a0seen him since the spring when he was third to\u00a0Jimmysstar\u00a0in the Russell Balding here at Randwick over\u00a01300m, leading for a good chunk of the way before two quality horses (the other being Lady Shenandoah) got the best of him.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether\u00a01000m\u00a0suits is the question, but\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0trialled\u00a0up well ahead of his return and will no doubt run his usual honest race up on the speed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her return in the\u00a0Armanasco\u00a0Stakes two weeks ago was nothing short of superb, finding\u00a0teh\u00a0rails run and clicked up at the\u00a0100m\u00a0mark, dashing home to win by a solid margin of more than two lengths.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the stiffest challenge\u00a0she\u2019s\u00a0faced so far,\u00a0but in\u00a0with only 54.5kg and Luke Nolen already having won twice in the saddle,\u00a0she\u2019ll\u00a0be incredibly hard to hold out when it matters.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She\u2019s\u00a0always been a proven first-up performer, but her second-up record is no slouch either as she gets out to\u00a01300m\u00a0for just the second time \u2013 the other being a Group 1 win at Eagle Farm when she claimed the Kingsford Smith Cup last year.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her wet track form gets a big\u00a0tick\u00a0and J-Mac has a lot to work with from barrier 4.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
