Wet weather continues to hamper the Sydney metropolitan race meetings but with the rain expected to ease later in the week, this Saturday\u2019s Rosehill The Rosebud Day meeting looks set to proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ten race program will be headlined by the running of the Listed The Rosebud<\/a><\/strong> for the three year olds and it looks a very open affair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve done the form for each event and have provided my detailed selections below in my Rosehill Preview<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Race 1: (11:35am AEST) MIDWAY HANDICAP BM72 1500M<\/div>\n
No. 4 KINGSTON CHARM<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div> \n <\/div> \n

Kingston Charm was too bad to be true last time and I\u2019m hoping she can bounce back.<\/p>\n

The John Thompson trained mare hasn\u2019t had much go her way this campaign and she\u2019s certainly due for a change of luck.<\/p>\n

When resuming over 1300m here, she was making good ground in the straight before running out of room over the concluding stages.<\/p>\n

Finishing 2.3 lengths back in six, she wouldn\u2019t have won but she certainly would have finished closer.<\/p>\n

Out to the mile second up, she had nowhere to go in the early part of the straight and in limited, room charged home late into second, beaten less than a length.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s fit, the slight drop back to 1500m will suit and she gets in nicely with Braith Nock\u2019s 2kg claim.<\/p>\n

Christa comes off a solid first up win at Taree and I think she can go on with it.<\/p>\n

After more than a year on the sidelines, the six year old daughter of Epaulette travelled sweetly just behind the speed and let down strongly in the straight to take out the 1400m event by just under a length.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s obviously had a few issues but with three wins and a third placing from her five career starts, she\u2019s certainly talented.<\/p>\n

She will have taken improvement from that first up outing and whilst she does rise in grade, she drops 3kg in the weights and draws to get the right run under Jason Collett.<\/p>\n

Fermoy returns to the races and I think we\u2019ll see big improvement from him this time in.<\/p>\n

The son of Zoustar showed plenty of promise on debut as he closed off strongly to claim third over 1100m at Rosehill.<\/p>\n

Given a let up, he then returned for an Autumn campaign but failed to figure in two runs at stakes level and was subsequently spelled.<\/p>\n

He’s been strong through the line in two recent trials under James McDonald, who stays aboard here for Chris Waller.<\/p>\n

Tuileries was set a task last start when resuming over 1200m but she will have taken good improvement from the outing.<\/p>\n

Taken back to the rear, she was always wide but hit the line strongly to finish fourth, beaten less than a length.<\/p>\n

The Peter Snowden trained filly has just had the five races starts and she looks highly talented.<\/p>\n

Sent to the paddock after her debut run, she returned in fine order to score back to back wins, jumping straight from a midweek maiden to a BM72 at Randwick.<\/p>\n

The rise to 1400m looks ideal for this daughter of So You Think and Tommy Berry will take over the steering.<\/p>\n

Pallaton returns to the races and the son of Wootton Basset has been ultra impressive in two recent trial wins.<\/p>\n

He put the writing on the wall with a dominant debut win over 1000m at Randwick but just failed to let down as expected in two subsequent runs.<\/p>\n

Given time, he looks to have come back in top order and the fact he cruised through the line on a heavy surface in his latest trial, suggests he\u2019ll have no trouble in the conditions.<\/p>\n

Tommy Berry knows him well he gets in nicely with just 54.5kgs.<\/p>\n

Pure Alpha has been the runner up in three of his past four starts and I think he can go one better here.<\/p>\n

The Chris Waller trained gelding relished the rise to 1800m two runs back, as he fought strongly to the line only to beaten in a bob of heads.<\/p>\n

With four weeks between runs he tried hard but just had his stablemate get the better of him late.<\/p>\n

He looks well suited here with the slight rise to 1900m and he excels on wet tracks.<\/p>\n

Zac Lloyd will take over the steering and given the conditions, I don\u2019t think the wide draw will prove to be a hindrance.<\/p>\n

Adelaide River will make his return and the son of Australia has been gelded since we last saw him on raceday.<\/p>\n

The Irish import has failed to fill the placings in five starts since making his way down under but the ultimate gear change looks to have had the desired effect as he\u2019s been very impressive in three recent trial wins.<\/p>\n

With a Group 3 victory and three Group 1 placings to his name, he\u2019s certainly not lacking in terms of ability and given time to settle in, I think he\u2019s in for a big preparation.<\/p>\n

He does race well fresh, he looks to handle all conditions and he\u2019s sure to find this easier than what he was contesting last time in.<\/p>\n

Captain Furai kicked off his preparation with a gutsy effort over 1400m in atrocious conditions.<\/p>\n

Settling just off the leader, the Chris Waller trained gelding gave a good kick in the straight and tried hard but just couldn\u2019t reel in the race-fit Elson Boy.<\/p>\n

He will have taken plenty of benefit from the outing and he has won second up previously.<\/p>\n

A son of Toronado, he showed plenty of promise in his first campaign but failed to fire in three runs last preparation.<\/p>\n

He looks to have returned in top order and his wet track form is hard to overlook.<\/p>\n

Bonita Queen returns to the races.<\/p>\n

The Bjorn Baker trained daughter of I Am Invincible kicked off her previous in fine style as she proved too good over the 1100m at Wyong.<\/p>\n

She then just struggled to see out a strong 1200m in her two subsequent runs but still wasn\u2019t beaten far and it was solid effort to finish fourth in the\u00a0Triscay Stakes<\/a>, which was her first crack at stakes level.<\/p>\n

The 1100m is certainly her sweet spot and she races very well fresh.<\/p>\n

She looks to have come back in top order with a scintillating trial win and she\u2019ll be in it for a long way.<\/p>\n

Perfumist will kick off her campaign and she looks primed to strike off a dominant nine length trial win.<\/p>\n

The New Zealand bred mare was simply brilliant last preparation as she made it four wins in succession, all them by comfortable margins.<\/p>\n

She made the trip back to her homeland in March to contest the inaugural running of the $3.5m The Kiwi, where she produced a solid effort to finish fifth amongst proven stakes performers.<\/p>\n

She races very well fresh, she handles all conditions and the 1200m first up looks ideal to finish up our The Rosebud Day tips.<\/p>\n
