autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ross Lyon, this year, has done the same thing: threatened to change, even made tangible changes, but ultimately resorted back to his old ways.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last 10 games of last season, the Saints made clear shifts in their game style.<\/p>\n<p>Ross didn\u2019t abandon his defensive principles, which meant having numbers behind the ball and a still top-5 defence.<\/p>\n<p>That weight of numbers also meant that the Saints were still a solid back-half scoring team, sitting third in the competition for back half scoring and second at scoring off turnover over those last 10 games.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s classic Ross stuff.<\/p>\n<p>Two things changed, however, that seemed to indicate that he was ready to change.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing was the way St Kilda moved the ball over the last 10 games.<\/p>\n<p>They kicked it more and upped their pace in the kicking game, trying to get some momentum in their own game rather than prioritising taking away the other team\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Brisbane Lions v St Kilda Highlights | Round 14, 2024 | AFL\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M3Haus2CHhA?start=1&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
