And can anything be salvaged from this nightmarish campaign?<\/p>\n<p>It was an utterly humiliating performance on the weekend that saw Tottenham battered 4-2 against 16<sup>th<\/sup>-place Wolves.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Defeat at Molineux. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GE17ujiCQQ\">pic.twitter.com\/GE17ujiCQQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SpursOfficial\/status\/1911432593041481966?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 13, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>90 seconds was all it took for Ange\u2019s men to fall behind, before a painfully Sunday-league level own-goal, a far-too-relaxed defensive lapse, and another example of pure ball-watching from kick-off saw the Wolves cruise to a crucial three points.<\/p>\n<p>This result was Tottenham\u2019s 17<sup>th<\/sup> league defeat of the season and the most they have suffered in a league campaign since the 2003\/04 season, where they lost 19 times.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u23f0 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Wolves?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Wolves<\/a>&#39; fastest goal of the season, scored by Rayan Ait-Nouri after just 1 minute and 25 seconds! <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WOLTOT?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WOLTOT<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RKB5yWvkMU\">pic.twitter.com\/RKB5yWvkMU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Premier League (@premierleague) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/premierleague\/status\/1911408161111548154?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 13, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Before Mauricio Pochettino was sacked in 2019, his Spurs side was a perfectly modest and admirable team.<\/p>\n<p>A miracle 2019 Champions League Final run was the masterpiece of his five-year tenure, and a second-place finish in the 2016\/17 Premier League season stands as the club&#8217;s most successful campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Jose Mourinho took over Tottenham in 14<sup>th<\/sup> place, filmed a documentary for Amazon Prime, and was sacked unexpectedly just days before an EFL Cup Final against Manchester City.<\/p>\n<p>Then came Nuno Esp\u00edrito Santo for less than six months, and Antonio Conte stepped in to guide the side back into the top four and back into the UEFA Champions League.<\/p>\n<p>Following their eliminations from the UCL and the FA Cup, it was announced that the club had parted ways with the Italian manager by mutual consent.<\/p>\n<p>His infamous press conference rant about the mentality of the Spurs\u2019 players was the most memorable part of his unsuccessful spell.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Antonio Conte did not hold back after Spurs drew to Southampton \ud83d\ude33 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/93QiFC6y4p\">pic.twitter.com\/93QiFC6y4p<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; ESPN UK (@ESPNUK) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ESPNUK\/status\/1637175797784903681?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 18, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Next came Ange Postecoglu, a Greek-Australian manager who became a cult-hero in his two-season stint at Celtic.<\/p>\n<p>Another coach who won silverware everywhere he went until he found himself in the Hotspurs\u2019 colours.<\/p>\n<p>If you look at where Tottenham stands today, you might think Ange Postecoglu is the worst manager they\u2019ve ever had. Transfermarkt.co.uk (@TMuk_news) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TMuk_news\/status\/1911762225368301980?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 14, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This season, Tottenham have dropped 21 points from winning positions and have conceded 49 goals.<\/p>\n<p>They have taken the lead on 19 occasions before surrendering those points.<\/p>\n<p>While every club deals with their fair share of injuries, Spurs really can\u2019t seem to catch a break in that regard.<\/p>\n<p>They lead the injury lists for teams in the traditional top six, with 18 players missing a total of 153 games this season alone.<\/p>\n<p>Most notably, their first-choice back four of Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie have hardly been able to share the pitch, and even their starting goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, missed eleven games through injury.<\/p>\n<p>In saying that, Arsenal sit marginally behind them and have been hindered all season with injury setbacks, but that hasn\u2019t stopped them from smashing Real Madrid 3-0 in their UCL tie while holding down second place on the Premier League table.<\/p>\n<p>Their performance in the transfer market, too, doesn\u2019t suggest Ange was given much backing.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Tottenham Hotspur have signed England striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in a deal worth up to \u00a365m.<\/p>\n<p>Solanke, who has one cap, is Tottenham&#39;s fourth signing of the summer after Yang Min-hyuk, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/V7Nslr3BDO\">pic.twitter.com\/V7Nslr3BDO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash;
