The odds-on elect made it three wins from four starts and a double after his lead-up Hill Stakes triumph by an equally impressive margin.\u00a0Lindermann led an all-Waller Craven Plate trifecta\u00a0<\/strong>defeating stablemates Militarize (2nd) and Kovalica (3rd).<\/p>\n\n

    2021 Craven Plate winner Think It Over. Photo: Steve Hart.<\/figcaption><\/figure>The Craven Plate is a lucrative $750,000 Group 3 event held at Royal Randwick in mid to late October as a key support act on Spring Champion Stakes Day in Sydney.<\/p>\n

    The meeting is now held on the same date as Melbourne’s famous Group 1 $6 million Cox Plate<\/a> (2400m) at The Valley.<\/p>\n

    Run and won since 1867, the time-honoured Craven Plate is now contested over 1800m at weight-for-age having had its distance decreased ahead of the 2022 edition.<\/p>\n

    Many top horses have won the Craven Plate throughout history include Tim Whiffler (1807-71), Carbine (1890), Wakeful (1902), Gloaming (1919, 1922, 1924), Phar Lap (1929-31), Flight (1943, 1945), Tulloch (1960), Ming Dynasty (1978), Tie The Knot (1999), Mummify (2005), and Happy Clapper (2019).<\/p>\n

    The 2024 Craven Plate form was franked with the winner, Lindermann, going on to run top three in a host of subsequent Group 1 events as well as win the lucrative $2 million Group 2 Hill Stakes<\/a> in the spring of 2025.<\/p>\n

    Lindermann returned to successful defend his Craven Plate title in 2025 as the odds-on favourite.<\/p>\n
