    Persian Wonder ($19) <\/strong>announced himself as one of the major early\u2011spring movers at Rosehill on Saturday, producing a booming finish to claim the 2026 Ming Dynasty Quality results<\/strong> and spark a big shift in Spring Champion Stakes odds \u2014 firming from $26 into $11<\/a>. The David Payne\u2011trained gelding was superb late, with Ash Morgan timing the run perfectly to overhaul Stormy Marco<\/strong> and Tenenbaum <\/strong>in 1:22.89. Payne was left shaking his head at the generous quote, again labelling the laid\u2011back Kiwi\u2011bred three\u2011year\u2011old a \u201cbig, dumb bugger\u201d with a serious motor and sectionals that had long hinted at a breakout once he found the right race shape. Payne confirmed the Gloaming Stakes and Spring Champion Stakes are locked in<\/strong> as the next targets, confident the gelding will handle the rise to 2000m and continue improving through the Sydney spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
