    Matt Laurie\u2019s four-time Group 1 winning daughter of Alabama Express,\u00a0Treasurethe Moment ($2.80F)<\/strong>, relished a drop in grade off a lead-up third fresh in the Futurity Stakes to salute for the punters with a soft two-length victory in the\u00a02026 Sunline Stakes results<\/strong>. The Caulfield specialist was given a peach of an on-pace ride by jockey Daniel Stackhouse to come from second on the turn for home before getting the gap at the 300m, gliding through, hitting the lead and extending late. She will next run in either the Doncaster Mile or Queen of the Turf Stakes both held over the Randwick mile during April\u2019s \u2018The Championships\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n

    The Sunline Stakes is a Group 2 race for fillies and mares currently contested at Moonee Valley Racecourse* each March as part of the autumn’s William Reid Stakes meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    *The 2026 Sunline Stakes ran at Caulfield Racecourse with The Valley under redevelopment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The race is named in honour of champion New Zealand-bred thoroughbred, dual Cox Plate<\/a> champion (1999, 2000) Sunline – a winner of 32 of her 48 career starts – who was the highest earning racehorse<\/strong> in the world at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Offering $300,000 in prize money, the 1600m weight-for-age clash makes a nice next-up option for mares out of the Group 3 Matron Stakes run earlier in the autumn over the same distance at Flemington. Eternal Flame (2024) was the last to do the Matron Stakes – Sunline Stakes double<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The best out of the Sunline Stakes may continue onto Sydney for a shot at a race over ‘The Championships’ at Royal Randwick including the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes<\/a> (1600m) – run in recent years as the Coolmore Legacy Stakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In 2022 the Sunline Stakes form was franked with the second placed filly Barb Raider running second again in both the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) in Adelaide and the Group 1 Queensland Oaks<\/a> (2200m) that prep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
