    Last year\u2019s WA Oaks \/ WATC Derby winner\u00a0Machine Gun Gracie ($17)\u00a0<\/strong>was huge in her Sydney debut for the Linsday Park stable heading the\u00a02026 Epona Stakes results\u00a0<\/strong>with a runaway two-length upset at Rosehill. Given a peach of a ride by Luke Currie, the four-year-old daughter of Maschino was settled up on speed sitting second on the turn for home. She quickly moved up on the straight to go past the front runner and drew clear to stamp her authority ahead of potentially tougher autumn assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n

    Run over 1,900 metres in March, the Group 3 Epona Stakes is a staying event for fillies and mares held at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse over the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The set weights plus penalties showdown runs on Golden Slipper Day and serves as a potential lead-up into the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes<\/a> (1600m) – held over less distance at Randwick during April – and in 2016 Heavens Above ran second in both the Group 3 and Group 1 events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
