    Run over 1,400 metres during late February each year, the Hobartville Stakes is a Group 2 race run in the early stages of the coveted Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Contested at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, the $400,000 feature is run at set weights and is hope only to three-year-olds making it a key lead-up into the Group 1 Randwick Guineas<\/a> (1600m), which takes place a fortnight later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Dissident (2014), Hallowed Crown (2015), Kementari (2018), The Autumn Sun (2019), and Celestial Legend (2024) are the latest horses to complete the Hobartville Stakes – Randwick Guineas<\/strong> double.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Autumn Sun (2019) also went on to win the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas<\/a> (1600m) following his success in the Hobartville Stakes and Randwick Guineas as a three-year-old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Anamoe (2022) was the last horse to win the Hobartville Stakes – Rosehill Guineas double<\/strong>. He also finished runner-up in that year’s Randwick Guineas results and returned in the spring for four straight Group 1 victories capped off by his Group 1 Cox Plate<\/a> (2040m) triumph at The Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Celestial Legend (2024) won the Hobartville Stakes and then the Group 1 Randwick Guineas and Group 1 Doncaster Mile<\/a> during a stellar autumn!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The 2025 Hobartville Stakes proved the standout form race of the autumn, with winner Broadsiding backing it up with a Randwick Guineas second before going one better in the Rosehill Guineas. The runner\u2011up Swiftfalcon also held his form, finishing third in both the Randwick and Rosehill Guineas. Even the third\u2011placed filly Aeliana kept the trend rolling, running fourth in the Randwick Guineas, second in the Rosehill Guineas, and then blowing them away in the Group 1 Australian Derby, putting a five\u2011length gap on the boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
