    \"Crystal<\/p>\n

    Run over 1,600 metres, the Crystal Mile is a Group 2 race taking place at Moonee Valley Racecourse. With a $400,000 prize purse, it attracts some of Australia\u2019s best milers, along with a few international entrants and is held as part of Cox Plate Day\u00a0<\/strong>in late October each spring.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Starting out as a Listed Race, this race was upgraded to Group 3 status in 1986, followed by Group 2 status in 1997.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The weight-for-age Crystal Mile serves as a superb lead up for the Group 1 <\/span>Champions Mile<\/span><\/a> (1600m) held at Flemington over the Melbourne Cup Carnival <\/span>with Turn Me Loose (2015) the last horse to do the double.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
