    Held just a week before \u2018<\/span>the race that stops a nation<\/span><\/a>\u2019, the Ladbrokes Geelong Cup<\/strong> is a key lead-up into the iconic two-mile showdown and has a huge impact on Melbourne Cup betting.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The Group 3 event takes place at Geelong Racecourse on a Wednesday in late October a few days prior to the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley.<\/p>\n
