    Run over 1,400 metres, the Tristarc Stakes is a Group 2 race taking place in Melbourne on Caulfield Cup Day each October. With a $300,000 prize purse, the set weights plus penalties event attracts some of Australia\u2019s best mares.<\/p>\n

    Starting out as a Listed Race, this race was upgraded to Group 3 status in 1994, followed by Group 2 status in 2005.<\/p>\n

    This race serves as a good lead up for the Empire Rose Stakes <\/a>held at Flemington on VRC Derby Day over the Melbourne Cup Carnival.<\/p>\n

    Red Tracer (2013) and Colette (2021) are the latest mares to complete the Tristarc Stakes – Empire Rose Stakes double<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
