    Michael Freedman\u2019s last start Tapp-Craig winning I Am Invincible colt\u00a0Ohope<\/strong>\u00a0($2.70F) made it back-to-back wins when saluting for the punters in the\u00a02025 Callander-Presnell results<\/strong>\u00a0in Sydney. The in-form three-year-old was given a perfectly timed ride by Jason Collett to come from fourth on the home turn to cut loose on the outside and surge home for a half-length victory over Rivellino with Fermoy finishing third.<\/p>\n\n

    \"Stan<\/p>\n

    Run over 1600 metres having been increased in distance from 1500m in 2022, the Stan Fox Stakes is now known as the Callander-Presnell<\/strong>. The race was renamed in honour of Sydney racing media figures Ken Callander and Max Presnell and has replaced the now defunct the $1 million Bondi Stakes<\/a> (1600m), an event that ran from 2019-21.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    A Group 2 race taking place at Royal Randwick Racecourse in late October on Spring Champion Stakes Day, the Callander-Presnell prize money was boosted to $1 million in 2022. It attracts a quality line-up middle-distance three-year-olds that could be targeting a Group 1 race down in Melbourne over the Cup Carnival.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    For it\u2019s first 32 years it was run at 1400 metres, before being increased to 1500m in 2021 and 1600m in 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Starting out as a Principal Race, it then progressed to a Listed race in 1985, followed by Group 3 in 1989. It has been a Group 2 race since 1996.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The event briefly served as a lead-up into the Bondi Stakes from 2019-2021 before replacing that event in 2022 as the leading Sydney spring race for three-year-olds.<\/p>\n

    Both Pelzer (2020) and Hilal (2021) completed the Stan Fox Stakes – Bondi Stakes double.<\/p>\n

    The new key lead-up into the Callander-Presnell field is the Follow $500,000 Tapp-Craig<\/a> (1400m) held on Hill Stakes Day, and the first three placegetters in that are exempt from Callander-Presnell ballot.<\/p>\n

    Ohope (2025) was the last three-year-old to complete the\u00a0Tapp-Craig – Callander-Presnell double<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    In 2022 the Callander-Presnell was won by the favourite, that year’s Caulfield Guineas<\/a> winner Golden Mile.<\/p>\n
