    Run over 1,400 metres, the Caulfield Guineas Prelude is a Group 3 race taking place at Caulfield Racecourse in September during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Offering $300,000 in prize money as of 2021, the event is run at set weights plus penalties and is open only to three-year-old runners.<\/p>\n

    The Caulfield Guineas Prelude is the key lead-up race for the prestigious Group 1 Caulfield Guineas<\/a> (1600m) held the following month and Helmet (2011) was the last to do the double.<\/p>\n

    The Caulfield Guineas Prelude in 2023 returned to the Underwood Stakes Day card.<\/p>\n
