    The Heath 1100 Stakes is one of the younger Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival events. The sprint first ran in 2002 and now serves as a potential lead-up into the world’s richest turf race – Sydney’s $20 million The Everest<\/a> (1200m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The 2016 The Heath 1100 Stakes winner Redzel went on to make history winning the opening two editions of The Everest race. Most recently the 2021 The Heath Stakes winner Masked Crusader went on to run second to Nature Strip in that year’s The Everest results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Run at set weights plus penalties by a field of sprinters aged four-years-old and above The Heath 1100 takes place at Caulfield Racecourse on Memsie Stakes Day in mid-late August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Horses that perform well in The Heath 1100 Stakes may go on to contest tougher Group 1 events over the carnival including The Valley’s Moir Stakes<\/a> (1000m) during the Cox Plate Carnival with the double last completed by Samaready (2013).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The 2023 The Heath 1100 Stakes winner Asfoora travelled to the UK for the Royal Ascot Carnival and won the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The 2025 The Heath 1100 Stakes also produced a subsequent Group 1 winner with Tropicus returning in the autumn of 2026 to claim victory in the Oakleigh Plate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
