    Run over 1,200 metres, the WJ Healy Stakes is a Group 3 race taking place at Eagle Farm Racecourse at the tail-end of the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival on Tattersall’s Tiara Day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The quality handicap sprint offers $200,000 in prize money and is named in honour of W.J. Healy who was the longest serving President of Tattersall’s (1932-1953).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Inaugurated in 1979 the W.J. Healy gained its current Group 3 status in 1997 and has been won by a number of nice types including the hulking sprint star Hay List (2010).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The 2024 WJ Healy Stakes form was franked with the winner Zarastro going on to win the following summer\u2019s $1 million Magic Millions Sprint<\/a> race at the Gold Coast before a second in the 2025 Group 1 Kingsford Smith Cup<\/a> in the winter in Brisbane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
