While, the Clippers are 4th in the West with a 19-12 record, going 8-2 across their last 10 games.

Jimmy Butler is set to sit this game out with a foot injury, allowing the likes of Herro and rookie Jaquez to take out the lions share of scoring duties.

I’m staying away from the line here, instead backing the two young Heat stars to find the bucket.

To start the new year, Lebron’s LA Lakers will hit the road to the Smoothie King Center to take on Brandon Ingram’s New Orleans Pelicans.

I’ve crunched the numbers, simulated the game on 2K and here’s what I’ve come up with.

The away team have won seven of the Pelicans’ last eight home games and not to mention, the Lakers have also covered the line in four of their last five games against the Pelicans.

Anthony Davis averages 26 points against his former team and with the way the last game ended yesterday, he’s got the motivation to get a win on the road.

Lebron James was visibly upset after a controversial call that resulted in the Lakers falling agonisingly short.

However, Bron is a professional, and he won’t let that get in the way of this game this morning.

The Phoenix Suns are hosting the Orlando Magic to begin the New Year and boy, will this be a game to watch.

The big three for the Suns showed NBA fans what they’re made of after securing their first win with Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker fit.

The Suns have a great record against the Magic, winning each of their last four home against Orlando.

Not only that, Kevin Durant will be starring for the Suns this morning, due to him previously scoring 42+ points in each of his last three home appearances against the Magic.

Jusuf Nurkic has been the glass cleaner that Phoenix needed this season.

Nurkic has recorded 12+ rebounds in each of his last 5 home appearances.

Franz Wagner has been in form for the Magic scoring 24 or more points in each of Orlando’s last five games

With the numbers in hand, I’ll be taking GSW to win this game comfortably.

To open a great long weekend of basketball we have the Orlando Magic hosting the New York Knicks in what will be one of the most competitive games of the day.

Some interesting numbers behind this game include the Magic have lost their last five games against teams that have a winning record.

Over the last 5 games, Julius Randle has been playing out of his shell, with an average of 25 points and 9 rebounds, which is unbelievable for the All-Star.

Not to mention his teammate Jalen Brunson is averaging 28, 4 and 6 in the last 5 games which shows that the playmaker and Randle will need to work together throughout the four quarters.

Nine of the last 11 away games for the Knicks have also gone over the total points as well, which at the time of writing is 226.5.

The last five games have shown the immaculate performance of the LA Clippers, James Harden and Paul George are averaging 23 and 24 points respectively.

The Clips have averaged 114 points against the Grizzlies since the 2019-20 season.

To cap off a great week of basketball, we turn our attention to the opening morning game between the luckless Detroit Pistons and the In-form Boston Celtics in TD Garden.

The Celtics are in sublime form, averaging 122 points at home this season.

Jayson Tatum averages 23.9 points in this head-to-head battle with the Pistons while his dynamic duo, Jaylen Brown, averages 17.1 points.

Cade Cunningham is putting up numbers that win games with any other line-up, however, the team around him haven’t seemed to be contributing their part.

The former number 1 pick averages 23 points and 7 assists per game.

Will the Pistons snap their 27-game losing streak tomorrow against the Celtics?

This season, Morant has averaged 28, 8 and 5 and he’s doesn’t look like slowing down.

On the other side of the court, you’ve got the former MVP in Nikola Jokic.

The Joker averages 26, 12 and 9 this year which puts him in the discussion for MVP without a shadow of a doubt.

Another big-time shooter named Tyler Herro averages 12, 5 and 2 in his 6 games against the Warriors with a career-high 20 points.

Steph Curry is a massive player for the warriors to give them a chance to win the game.

Curry averages 25, 6 and 5 in his 21 games against the Heat including a 46% shooting.

NBA this morning tips off with the Philadelphia 76ers taking on the Orlando Magic!

Orlando’s form has been up and down this season however I think this game will be a lot closer than what people think, and the market suggests that as well.

At the time of writing, the handicap is currently at 2.5 which suggests that we’ve got a 1-2 possession game in the horizons, but how will Philly go without their star Center in Joel Embiid?

Last year, the 76ers were 11-5 without Embiid, this year, they’re 0-4. However, Philly has won 8 of their last 13 road games this season.

Not to mention, Maxey is in unbelievable form, averaging 19.5 points in 45 games without Embiid in the side.

Some other players I’ve had my close eye on are Paolo Banchero and Cole Anthony, who both have great stats against the 6ers without Embiid with 19.8 and 17.3 points respectively.

With those numbers in mind, here’s my suggested bet for this morning’s game.

Two superstars of the game go toe-to-toe this Afternoon and geez this will be a great game to watch!

This is a matchup that’s as even as you can get, with 43 games won by the Cavs and the Mavs taking out 40.

Luka Doncic’s season has been that good, he’s averaging 27, 8 and 8 against the Cavs in his career however, he’s in his best form averaging 33 points this season.

On the other side of the court, you have a man who’s changing the game and, in my opinion, single-handedly turned the Cavs around and that name is Donovan Mitchell!

Initial reports have suggested that Mitchell is expected to play this afternoon however, I don’t think he’ll be able to stop the in form Mavericks from taking this one out.

The Kings are back on the road, and they’ll be taking on the understrength and out-of-form Portland Trail-Blazers.

Keegan Murray has been in great form over the past couple of weeks.

Another player who I think will be helping the Kings tonight is Kevin Huerter, he’s scored more than 13 points in each of his last five road games against Portland.

The Kings have traditionally played well on the handicap following a loss, they’ve covered the line in 12 of their last 13 games following a home loss.

The LA Clippers are back at Crypto.com Arena today and geez have they turned it around.

From losing 6 straights when they first acquired superstar James Harden to now, they’ve won 14 of their last 19 games this season.

The Clips have a great record against the hornets, winning their last 13 home games against them.

A player who loves to perform against Eastern Conference teams is Ivica Zubac

Zubac has put up a double-double in each of his last four games against Eastern Conference opponents.

The Hornets haven’t been fans of scoring big points for the past couple of weeks.

Five of the last six Hornets games have gone under the total match points line.

OKC has comfortably won their last four home fixtures against the Clippers coving the spread in each victory.

I’m backing the Thunder to win this one comfortably.

Like their LA neighbours, the Lakers are set to play the 2nd of back-to-back road fixtures when they travel to Minnesota’s fortress, the Target Center.

The T-Wolves are 11-1 at home this season, 8-2-2 against the line in those fixtures.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are 5-9 on the road (as of 20/12) and have lost three of there last four games since winning the In-Season Tournament.

The T-Wolves have covered the line in seven of their last eight meetings with the Lakers and I’m backing them to run over the old legs of LeBron.

The Timberwolves look to extend their lead atop of the Western Conference standings when the travel East to take on the Sixers.

The 76ers are 10-4 in Philly this season, but enter this game off the back of a home defeat to the less fancied Bulls.

Meanwhile, Minnesota are an impressive 9-4 on the road, and have won their last two trips to the Wells Fargo Centre.

The T’Wolves have plenty of big bodies to throw at Embiid, while Anthony Edwards continues to rise to the occasion against quality opponents.

This is going to be a cracking game between two of the best sides in the comp, I can see this one being decided on the buzzer!

The Celtics play the 2nd of back-to-back road games when they travel to the Golden 1 Centre to take on the Kings.

Along with a rest advantage, the Kings will enter this matchup on a four game winning streak at home, extending the record in Sacramento to 10-3.

Meanwhile, the Celts are 6-5 on the road (as of 19/12), losing the previous three away games.

The Celtics are 2-7-2 against the line on the road this season, a far cry from their impressive 10-4 record ATS in Boston.

I’m backing a healthy Kings outfit to work over a tired Celtics squad, covering the line as underdogs.

League leaders Boston head to the Bay Area to take on the struggling Dubs.

The Warriors are 6-6 at home this season and 3-9 against the line in those fixtures.

Curry has struggled to score without Draymond Green on the court, and will have to find a way to adapt with his the hot headed centre suspended for 3 weeks.

The Celtics have an average points differential of +9.1, behind only Philly in the league.

Without Draymond on the floor, I can’t see the 2022 champs hanging with this elite Celts unit.

I have Boston covering on the road.

The Suns meet the Trail Blazers for the 2nd time this season, after claiming a 13-point win at home.

The pair will clashing in Portland, where the Trail Blazers have only won 2 of 12 games this season.

Portland are on a 7-game losing streak and have no right to get close to a Booker/ KD led Suns outfit.

I’m backing Phoenix to hand the Trail Brazers a hefty defeat inside their own arena.
