New York Yankees vs Houston Astros, 4:05 am
Astros $1.77

New York Yankees

The Yankees have been in solid form lately, moving to 49-27 with another win last time out. Gary Sanchez is their main man offensively, going for 23 home runs and 52 RBI in just 56 games. JA Happ will pitch here, going 7-3 with a 4.59 ERA so far.

Houston Astros

Despite a recent slip, the Astros still sit pretty at 48-30. Alex Bregman leads the way, recently going over both 20 home runs and 50 RBI. Justin Verlander will pitch here, going a strong 9-3 with a 2.59 ERA.

Prediction: Astros $1.77

While these are similarly matched sides, Verlander gives Houston a strong edge here. I think he limits this strong Yankees offence, while Bregman and Co do just enough to get the road win.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Francisco Giants, 6:10 am
Diamondbacks $1.67

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks have been a middling team this season, sitting right around .500. Eduardo Escobar has been a great contributor, going for 17 home runs and 59 RBI so far. Merrill Kelly will pitch here, going 7-7 with a 3.99 ERA this season.

San Francisco Giants

The Giants have largely struggled this season, going 32-42 so far. Kevin Pillar leads the way offensively with 9 home runs and 36 RBI. Shaun Anderson will pitch here, going 2-2 with a 4.08 ERA so far.

Prediction: Diamondbacks $1.67

The Diamondbacks are the better side here, having both home field and the pitching edge. I think their batters really take it to Anderson here en route to a comfortable home win.

St Louis Cardinals vs Los Angeles Angels, 9:05 am
Cardinals $1.74

St Louis Cardinals

The Cards have been much improved of late, moving to 40-36 with some solid play. Marcell Ozuna comfortably leads the way, going for 20 home runs and 62 RBI. Miles Mikolas will pitch here, going 5-7 with a 4.48 ERA.

Los Angeles Angels

The Angels have fallen below .500 and now sit at 38-40. Mike Trout has led the way, going for 22 home runs and 56 RBI. Tyler Skaggs will pitch here, going 6-6 with a 4.61 ERA this season.

Prediction: Cardinals $1.74

I think the Cardinals are the better and more consistent of these two sides. In an even pitching battle, I expect Ozuna to lead a strong Cardinals offence to victory here.

Sunday, June 23

Chicago Cubs vs New York Mets, 4:20 am
Cubs $1.70

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs still loom as a solid playoff contender, currently sitting at 41-34. Anthony Rizzo leads the way offensively, going for 19 home runs and 53 RBI. Jose Quintana will pitch here, going 4-6 with a 3.87 ERA.

New York Mets

The Mets have struggled of late and currently sit 36-40. Pete Alonso remains the offensive standout, going for 25 home runs and 59 RBI so far. Zack Wheeler is on the mound here, sporting a 5-5 record and 4.94 ERA this season.

Prediction: Cubs $1.70

The Cubs are the significantly better of these two sides and are in better form right now. I think Quintana is a better pitcher than his numbers suggest and I expect him to contain New York in this one.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs San Diego Padres, 6:05 am
Padres $1.80

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates are still managing to grind out wins, moving to 34-40 with some solid displays. Josh Bell is still killing it, leading the way with 20 home runs and 66 RBI. Chris Archer will pitch here, going a poor 3-6 with a 5.85 ERA so far.

San Diego Padres

The Padres have remained around .500 all year, currently sitting 38-38. Hunter Renfroe has been huge offensively, going for 23 home runs and 43 RBI. Chris Paddack will start here, going 4-4 with a 3.15 ERA this season.

Prediction: Padres $1.80

Pittsburgh struggle mightily offensively outside of Josh Bell and I think a competent pitcher like Paddack can contain them here. San Diego also has the hitters to get after someone like Archer, making me think they’re solid value at $1.80.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Cincinnati Reds, 6:10 am
Brewers $1.96

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers have faded somewhat of late, now sitting just 40-36 on the season. Christian Yelich has still been outstanding, going for 28 home runs and 59 RBI. Jhoulys Chacin will pitch here, sporting a dismal 3-8 record and 5.6 ERA so far.

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds are looking like a dark horse for the playoffs, now at 36-38. Eugenio Suarez leads the way offensively, going for 15 home runs and 43 RBI. Luis Castillo will pitch here, sporting an excellent 7-1 record and 2.26 ERA.

Prediction: Brewers $1.96

Due to their recent form and pitching situation, the Brewers stock is very much at a low here. I don’t think Chacin is as bad as his record suggests and that he can contain a limited Cincy offence here. On offence, I think Yelich and co do just enough to get the win as underdogs in this one.

Saturday, June 22

Washington Nationals vs Atlanta Braves, 9:05 am
Braves $2.25

Washington Nationals

The Nationals are definitely in some strong recent form, moving to 36-38 after yesterday’s win. Victor Robles came up huge, leading the way with 2 home runs and 3 RBI. Stephen Strasburg will pitch here, going 7-4 with a 3.75 ERA so far.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves have also been very solid of late, currently sitting at 44-31. Freddie Freeman has been elite offensively, leading the way with 21 home runs and 55 RBI. Dallas Keuchel is projected to make his season debut here, having shown a ton of potential in the minors.

Prediction: Braves $2.25

While Strasburg has enjoyed a stellar campaign, there has been value in fading him of late. As long as Keuchel can contain this Nationals offence, I think the Braves attack has what it takes to get the win here.

Texas Rangers vs Chicago White Sox, 10:05 am
Rangers $1.67

Texas Rangers

The Rangers are looking like fringe playoff contenders, now sitting 40-35. The offence of Joey Gallo has been huge, going for 17 home runs and 41 RBI in just 50 games. Ariel Jurado will pitch here, going 4-3 with a 4.23 ERA so far.

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox are in improved form themselves, now sitting 35-37 this season. Jose Abreu leads the way on offence, going for 17 home runs and 54 RBI. Reynaldo Lopez will pitch here, going 4-7 with a dreadful 6.31 ERA so far.

Prediction: Rangers $1.67

I think the Rangers are the much better side in this one, boasting home field and a much better pitcher. As long as the offence can deliver, they look great value at this price point.

Kansas City Royals vs Minnesota Twins, 10:15 am
Twins $1.60

Kansas City Royals

The Royals got a much-needed win last time out, although it took them to just 26-49. Jorge Soler has been one of a few consistent producers, leading the way with 20 home runs and 52 RBI. Jakob Junis will pitch here, going 4-6 with a 5.33 ERA so far.

Minnesota Twins

Even with some poor losses of late, the Twins are still a strong 48-26. Rosario and Kepler lead the way offensively, both going for 50+ RBI so far. Martin Perez will return to pitch, going 7-3 with a 4.09 ERA so far.

Prediction: Twins $1.60

The Twins are comfortably the better of these two sides and they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways here. Especially against a poor pitcher like Junis, their offence should wreak havoc en route to an easy win.

Thursday, June 20

Cincinnati Reds vs Houston Astros, 2:35 am
Astros $1.56

Cincinnati Reds

Despite impressive consecutive wins over Houston, the Reds sit just 33-38. Derek Dietrich leads the team in home runs with 18, matching his 39 RBI so far. Tyler Mahle will pitch here, going a disappointing 2-7 with a 4.33 ERA.

Houston Astros

Houston have lost some momentum with 2 straight poor losses, although they still sit 48-26. Alex Bregman continues his excellent form, bringing up his 50th RBI of the campaign. Gerrit Cole will pitch here, going a solid 6-5 with a 3.67 ERA so far.

Prediction: Astros $1.56

After 2 straight losses, I can’t see the World Series favourites getting swept by Cincinnati. They’ve got a huge pitching edge in this spot, with Cole performing consistently all season. Expect a solid day from the offence en route to a road win.

Washington Nationals vs Philadelphia Phillies, 3:05 am
Phillies

Washington Nationals

The Nationals have been somewhat better of late, moving to 33-38 with some decent displays. Anthony Rendon is having a stellar campaign, going for 16 home runs and 50 RBI so far. Patrick Corbin will pitch here, sporting a 5-5 record and 4.11 ERA.

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies are still looking like a strong contender, currently sitting 39-32. Bryce Harper is having a solid debut campaign, tying teammate Rhys Hoskins with 49 RBI. Zach Eflin is slated to pitch here, going 6-6 with a 2.81 ERA so far.

Prediction: Phillies

This is the first of a proposed 2 games today between these sides and I think Philly have a strong pitching advantage here. Eflin can contain a relatively anaemic offence, while I expect Harper to run amok against his former side.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Detroit Tigers, 9:05 am
Pirates $1.85

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates have been slumping of late, currently sitting at just 40-32. This is despite the heroics of Josh Bell, who still leads the majors with 66 RBI. Trevor Williams will pitch here, going 2-1 with a 3.33 ERA so far.

Detroit Tigers

Detroit haven’t had a great season by any stretch, finding themselves 26-43 at this point. The offence has struggled all season, with only 1 player reaching 30 RBI and none reaching 10 home runs. Jordan Zimmerman pitches here, going 0-4 with a poor 5.93 ERA.

Prediction: Pirates $1.85

Despite a poor run of recent form, I think the Pirates are the better side here and should turn things around at home. They’ve got a strong edge in the pitching battle and I expect another controlled display from Williams to get the job done here.

Wednesday, June 19

Atlanta Braves vs New York Mets, 9:20 am
Braves $2

Atlanta Braves

The Braves got back on track with a strong 12-3 win over the Mets to move to 43-30. Ozhaino Albies was the hero with the bat, going off for 3 hits and 4 RBI. Julio Teheran will pitch here, sporting a 5-4 record with a 2.92 ERA so far.

New York Mets

The Mets have struggled of late, falling to just 34-38. Pete Alonso has been comfortably their best offensive producer, going for 23 homers and 54 RBI. Jacob DeGrom will pitch here, going 3-6 with a 3.38 ERA so far.

Prediction: Braves $2

I just can’t see why the Braves are home underdogs in this spot. They’ve got a better pitcher and significantly deeper batting lineup. Expect another strong day from Teheran as they get an upset home win.

Minnesota Twins vs Boston Red Sox, 10:10 am
Twins $2

Minnesota Twins

The Twins are looking like real frontrunners, currently sitting at 47-24. Eddie Rosario has been particularly strong, going for 19 home runs and 52 RBI. Michael Pineda will pitch in this one, going 4-3 with a 5.04 ERA so far.

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox got a much-needed win last time out, moving to 40-34. They’re getting some well-rounded offensive production, with 6 players scoring at least 10 home runs. David Price will pitch here, going 4-2 with a 3.52 ERA so far.

Prediction: Twins $2

Even with Price pitching, I think the Twins are the better side in this matchup. With a strong home field and excellent batting lineup, $2 looks excellent value for this home dog.

Seattle Mariners vs Kansas City Royals, 12:10 pm
Mariners $1.74

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners have faded hugely of late, now sitting just 31-44. Encarnacion is their main offensive weapon, leading the way with 21 home runs and 49 RBI. Expect Yusei Kikuchi to pitch here, going 3-4 with a 4.7 ERA this season.

Kansas City Royals

KC have been even worse, going just 23-48 to start. Jorge Soler has been a revelation of late, leading the way with 18 home runs and 49 RBI. Homer Bailey will pitch here, going 5-6 with a 5.37 ERA.

Prediction: Mariners $1.74

The Mariners are simply the better side with home field advantage in this one. They’ve got the pitching edge with Kikuchi, who I expect to contain the Royals offence en route to a home victory.

Tuesday, June 18

Cincinnati Reds vs Houston Astros, 9:10 am
Astros $2

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds got a much-needed 11-3 win last time out, moving to 31-38 in the process. Jesse Winker was superb in his lead-off role, going for 4 hits and 5 RBI. Luis Castillo has been their best pitcher so far, going 6-1 with a 2.2 ERA.

Houston Astros

The Astros continue to look like the best team in baseball, sporting an impressive 48-24 record. Alex Bregman has been their main man offensively, going off for 19 home runs and 48 RBI. Wade Miley returns to pitch here, going a solid 6-3 with a 3.14 ERA so far.

Prediction: Astros $2

Even with Castillo’s quality, I’m not sure how Cincinnati are favoured in this one. Miley is just as good at the other end and the Astros have a substantially better batting lineup. As long as they continue firing, Houston should win comfortably here.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Los Angeles Angels, 9:10 am
Angels

Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays had one of the shock wins of the season last time out, beating Houston 12-0. Gurriel and Hernandez got the job done, both going for 4 RBI in the romp. A probable pitcher hasn’t been announced yet, however each of their starters has largely struggled this season.

Los Angeles Angels

The Angels are in somewhat better shape, moving to a middling record of 35-37. Mike Trout has picked up his form of late, leading the way with 19 home runs and 46 RBI. They’re also yet to announce a pitcher here, although they should at least get some better run support.

Prediction: Angels

While the odds haven’t been released for this one, a relatively small slate of fixtures has the Angels in my top 3 bets. I can see this being a high-scoring affair and they’ve got the offensive firepower to get it done here.

San Diego Padres vs Milwaukee Brewers, 12:10 pm
Brewers $2.15

San Diego Padres

The Padres had an epic win yesterday, narrowly getting past Colorado 14-13. Greg Garcia was excellent with 4 home runs and 4 RBI, while Hunter Renfroe added 3 of his own in both categories. Joey Lucchesi will pitch here, going 5-4 with a 4.11 ERA so far.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers got back on track with a win yesterday, moving to 40-31. The hitting of Christian Yelich has been a huge boon, going for 26 home runs and 57 RBI so far. Jhoulys Chacin has been their worst pitcher so far, going 3-7 with a 5.74 ERA this season.

Prediction: Brewers $2.15

While Chacin has had a poor campaign, I believe he’s better than the numbers suggest. San Diego isn’t an offensive juggernaut and the big hitting of his teammates should propel them to an underdog win here.

Monday, June 17

Baltimore Orioles vs Boston Red Sox, 3:05 am
Red Sox $1.62

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles have largely struggled this year, winning just 21 of their 70 games so far. Renato Nunez has provided some decent hitting offensively, going for 16 home runs and 38 RBI so far. Jon Means has been one of their better pitchers so far, going 6-4 with a 2.6 ERA.

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox haven’t really lived up to the hype this season, sitting 38-34 so far. Xander Bogaerts has been their offensive standout, going for 14 home runs and 46 RBI this season. A starting pitcher hasn’t been announced for Boston yet, although the relief staff has been largely solid.

Prediction: Red Sox $1.62

Even with Means pitching in this one, I’ve got to go with the better side here. I don’t see Baltimore really scoring here, while Boston does just enough offensively to get the job done.

New York Mets vs St Louis Cardinals, 3:10 am
Cardinals $1.85

New York Mets

The Mets moved to 34-36 after a solid win over St Louis last time out. The excellent hitting of Pete Alonso has kept them afloat, going for 23 home runs and 53 RBI so far. Jason Vargas will pitch here, going 3-3 with a 3.68 ERA this season.

St Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals find themselves just above .500 at 35-34. Marcell Ozuna has been splendid offensively, leading the way with 18 home runs and 56 RBI. Pitcher Dakota Hudson has gone 5-3 with a 3.47 ERA this season.

Prediction: Cardinals $1.85

I’m going with the Cardinals here, in large part due to their strong pitching advantage. I expect another solid display from Hudson, while I believe the resurgent Cards offence can get after Jason Vargas.

Colorado Rockies vs San Diego Padres, 5:10 am
Rockies $1.65

Colorado Rockies

The Rockies have moved to 37-33 with some strong recent form. They scored 14 runs in yesterday’s victory, with 5 RBI by Ian Desmond leading the way. Peter Lambert will pitch here, going 2-0 with a 1.5 ERA in his limited action.

San Diego Padres

The Padres have drifted below .500, currently sitting at 34-37. Hunter Renfroe has been their offensive star, reaching both 20 home runs and 40 RBI’s so far. Nick Margevicius is slated to pitch here, going a dreadful 2-6 with a 5.02 ERA this season.

Prediction: Rockies $1.65

I’ll gladly take the home side with a deeper batting lineup and better pitching staff here. I expect Colorado to really get after Margevicius en route to a comfortable home win.

Sunday, June 16

San Francisco Giants vs Milwaukee Brewers, 6:05 am
Brewers $1.96

San Francisco Giants

The Giants enter this clash after a rare 3-game winning streak, moving to 29-38 in the process. They’re still lacking a strong offensive presence, with the 29 RBI of Kevin Pillar currently leading the way. Ace Madison Bumgarner will pitch here, going 3-6 with a 3.83 ERA so far.

Milwaukee Brewers

Despite yesterday’s loss, the Brewers are still in good shape at 39-30. Yelich and Moustakas have been dominant offensively all season, combining for 46 home runs and 100 RBI so far. Jimmy Nelson will pitch in this one, going 0-1 in his lone start of the campaign.

Prediction: Brewers $1.96

While Nelson is somewhat of an unknown commodity, I think Milwaukee is still comfortably the better of these two sides. Bumgarner hasn’t been that great this season and I expect a strong Brewers offence to get after him. If Nelson has even a decent day at the office, I think Milwaukee should be favoured here.

Miami Marlins vs Pittsburgh Pirates, 8:10 am
Pirates $2.20

Miami Marlins

Despite entering yesterday’s contest as favourites, the Marlins were pounded 11-0 at home by these same Pirates. They did manage 10 hits offensively, but couldn’t convert these to runs as their pitching also let them down. Pablo Lopez is back to pitch here, sporting a 4-5 record to match his 4.26 ERA.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates were on the winning side of this blowout, delivering one of their best offensive days of the season. Colin Moran was excellent with 3 hits and 5 RBI, while Josh Bell added a further 2 RBI of his own. Dario Agrazal will make his pitching debut in this one, without much to go off in terms of a statistical reference.

Prediction: Pirates $2.20

Having had success backing this same scenario yesterday, I’m liking the Pirates chances of another road win here. I think they’re the better of these two sides and wouldn’t be surprised if Agrazal enjoys a very solid debut. Their offence is more than capable of getting after Lopez, which I’d expect to be the difference here.

Cincinnati Reds vs Texas Rangers, 9:10 am
Rangers $2

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds find their playoff hopes continuing to slip, now sitting 30-37 after yet another loss. 1st Baseman Joey Votto is having a surprisingly poor campaign, only managing 6 home runs and 15 RBI despite 61 appearances. Tanner Roark will pitch in this one, going 4-5 with a 3.74 ERA so far.

Texas Rangers

The Rangers have been looking very solid of late, moving to 37-31. Hunter Pence has had a stellar offensive season, boasting 14 home runs and 46 RBI so far. Mike Minor is also a very reliable pitching option, going 4-3 with a 2.52 ERA this season.

Prediction: Rangers $2

I think the Rangers are the better of these two sides and have a huge pitching edge in this spot. Mike Minor is as solid as they come and should be able to contain a relatively poor Reds offence. As long as he gets some decent run support, I think Texas walks away with another win here.

Saturday, June 15

Miami Marlins vs Pittsburgh Pirates, 9:10 am
Pirates $2

Miami Marlins

The Marlins had one of their better wins of the season yesterday, beating St Louis 9-0 to move to 24-42. Their offence just hasn’t been strong all season, with the 28 RBI from Anderson currently leading the way. Trevor Richards will pitch in this one, sporting a poor 3-6 record despite a decent 3.31 ERA.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates have continued their recent descent, losing to Washington last time out to move to 30-38. Who knows where they’d be without Josh Bell, who currently leads the majors with 61 RBI. Stephen Brault takes the mound here, sporting a 2-1 record with a 5.05 ERA so far.

Prediction: Pirates $2

Any time you can take a Marlins opponent at underdog prices, it’s very tempting to do so. While they’re heavily reliant on Bell, I believe Pittsburgh is still the superior team in this matchup. I think they can get after Richards here and steal one on the road as outsiders.

Chicago White Sox vs New York Yankees, 10:10 am
Yankees $1.96

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox continue their middling campaign, managing a win over the Yankees last time out to move to 33-34. Jose Abreu continues to be their main man offensively, leading the way with 16 home runs and 52 RBI. Lucas Giolito returns for this one, sporting a very impressive 9-1 record so far.

New York Yankees

The Yankees are still sitting pretty at the top, having won 41 of their first 67 contests. Gary Sanchez has been impressive offensively in limited action, going for 20 home runs and 40 RBI in under 50 games. Big CC Sabathia will pitch in this one, having gone 3-3 with a 3.96 ERA so far.

Prediction: Yankees $1.96

While Giolito is one of the more impressive pitchers in the major, CC Sabathia is more than up to the task in this one. He’s got a stronger pitching support staff as well as a deeper batting lineup that can help him out. As the overall better team, I like the Yanks for this road upset at $1.96.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Chicago Cubs, 12:10 pm
Dodgers $1.74

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are looking like the form side in the National League, going 46-23 to start their season. Cody Bellinger is rightfully getting a lot of plaudits, registering 2 home runs and 57 RBI so far. Rich Hill will pitch in this one, going an impressive 3-1 with a 2.4 ERA when called upon this season.

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs are also looming as a very strong contender, going 38-30 through a relatively tough schedule to date. The hitting of Javier Baez and Anthony Rizzo has carried them, both men going for at least 17 home runs and 45 RBI. Pitcher Kyle Hendricks is enjoying an impressive campaign, going 7-4 with a 3.0 ERA.

Prediction: Dodgers $1.74

Especially in their current form, it’s tough to go against the Dodgers at home. Hill is a solid pitcher at this level and will get great support from his batters and relievers here. At $1.74, I think they’re value to overcome a tough opponent.
