Chicago White Sox vs Detroit Tigers, 4:10 am
White Sox $1.74

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox don’t seem to have it this year, sitting at just 39-42. Jose Abreu is the only offensive standout, going for 19 home runs and 60 RBI so far. Ross Detwiler is going for his first major league start in 3 years today and it’ll be interesting to see what he has.

Detroit Tigers

The Tigers have struggled all season, sitting just 27-52. Offensive production has been a huge issue, with the 34 RBI of Cabrera leading the way. They haven’t announced a probable pitcher for this one, although their rotation has largely struggled all year.

Prediction: White Sox $1.74

In a relatively even pitching battle, I’ll gladly take the White Sox hitters in this one. Especially in front of their home fans, I think they put on a show en route to victory here.

New York Mets vs New York Yankees, 9:10 am
Yankees

New York Mets

The Mets got a good win over their crosstown rivals to move to a solid 39-47 last time out. Pete Alonso is still their only offensive threat, delivering an impressive 28 home runs and 64 RBI. Jason Vargas will pitch here, going 3-3 with a 3.66 ERA.

New York Yankees

The Yankees are still in very good form, sporting a strong 54-29 record. The hitting of Gary Sanchez has been a big boom leading the way with 23 home runs. They haven’t announced a starting pitcher yet, although their rotation has been largely excellent so far.

Prediction: Yankees

Especially after yesterday’s loss, the Yankees won’t want to get swept in this one. They are comfortably the more talented side here and I expect their quality hitters to get after Vargas in a solid road win.

Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Phillies, 9:20 am
Braves $1.70

Atlanta Braves

The Braves are still flying high, joining the list of teams with 50 wins so far. Freddie Freeman has killed it offensively all year, going for 22 home runs and 65 RBI. Bryse Wilson has been called up to start at Pitcher, without too much experience in the majors this season.

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies are back to 5 games above .500, moving to 45-40 with a win last time out. Bryce Harper leads the team in RBI’s in his debut season with 59. Nick Pivetta is slated to pitch here, going 4-2 with a 5.63 ERA so far.

Prediction: Braves $1.70

Even with yesterday’s loss, I think the Braves have a significant edge in this matchup. Their hitters can get after Pivetta and Wilson is definitely a capable pitching option. At $1.70, the value is very much on their side here.

Wednesday, July 3

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Chicago Cubs, 9:05 am
Cubs $1.74

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates enjoyed a resounding 18-5 win last time out, moving to 40-43 in the process. Josh Bell continued his outstanding form, adding 4 hits and 7 RBI. Joe Musgrove will pitch here, sporting a 6-7 record and a 4.27 ERA.

Chicago Cubs

Even with yesterday’s disaster, the Cubs are still at a respectable 45-40. Javier Baez has been huge all season, leading the way with 21 home runs and 57 RBI. Kyle Hendricks has been a stellar pitcher, going 7-5 with a 3.36 ERA so far.

Prediction: Cubs $1.74

The Cubs are the better of these two sides and they’ve got a significant edge in the pitching department here. Expect a routine showing from Hendricks en route to a comfortable home win.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Boston Red Sox, 9:05 am
Red Sox $1.60

Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays got back on track with an impressive 11-4 win over KC yesterday. Biggio and Grichuk were hugely effective, both going for 4 RBI in the win. Trent Thornton will pitch here, going a poor 2-5 with a 4.6 ERA.

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox have been slumping of late, now at just 44-40. They lack a clear #1 slugger, with only Xander Bogaerts over 50 RBI. David Price will pitch in this one, going a strong 5-2 with a 3.36 ERA.

Prediction: Red Sox $1.60

Fading Toronto at home has been good value of late, especially at this number. David Price is still as reliable as they come and I expect a strong day from the Boston offence in this one.

Colorado Rockies vs Houston Astros, 10:10 am
Astros $2.05

Colorado Rockies

The Rockies have largely hovered just above .500, now at 44-40. Arenado and Blackman lead the way offensively, each going for 20 home runs this season. German Marquez will pitch here, going an impressive 8-3 despite a 4.29 ERA.

Houston Astros

Fresh of a sweep of Seattle, the Astros now sit pretty at 53-32. Alex Bregman continues to lead the offence, going over both 20 home runs and 50 RBI. A starting pitcher hasn’t been announced, although Houston’s rotation has been excellent all year.

Prediction: Astros $2.05

When I can get the Astros at plus money, I usually don’t hesitate to do so. Even against a tough side like Colorado, I think they have both the hitting and bullpen to get the win here.

Tuesday, July 2

Toronto Blue Jays vs Kansas City Royals, 3:05 am
Blue Jays $1.74

Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays have struggled all season, currently sitting at 31-55. Justin Smoak has been their premier offensive threat, going for 14 home runs and 37 RBI. Pitcher Clayton Richard has largely struggled, going 0-4 with a 6.89 ERA.

Kansas City Royals

The Royals have also been atrocious this season, now at just 29-55. Jorge Soler has been stellar offensively, going for 22 home runs and 55 RBI this season. Glenn Sparkman will pitch here, going 2-3 with a 4.07 ERA.

Prediction: Blue Jays $1.74

In a day of limited options, the Blue Jays loom as a solid value play. I believe they’re the more talented of these two sides and should be able to get after Sparkman in this one.

Cincinnati Reds vs Milwaukee Brewers, 9:10 am
Brewers $1.92

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds continue to hover below .500, currently at 38-43. Eugenio Suarez leads the way, registering 17 home runs and 48 RBI. Tyler Mahle will pitch here, going a dreadful 2-8 on the season so far.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers managed another solid win yesterday, moving them to 45-39. Yasmani Grandal has been an underrated contributor, going for 18 home runs and 46 RBI. Adrian Houser will pitch here, going 2-2 with a sub-3 ERA.

Prediction: Brewers $1.92

Tyler Mahle has struggled all season and I’ve got no qualms with fading him at this price. Milwaukee has a strong offence that should succeed here, with Houser doing enough on the other end to secure the win.

San Diego Padres vs San Francisco Giants, 12:10 pm
Padres $1.60

San Diego Padres

The Padres are somehow still above .500, now sitting at 42-41. They’ve got some much needed big hitting of late, with 3 players now above 20 home runs. Logan Allen will pitch here, going 2-0 with just a 1.38 ERA.

San Francisco Giants

The Giants were excellent yesterday, moving to 36-47 with a 10-4 win over San Diego. Kevin Pillar continues to anchor the offence, adding 4 hits and 5 RBI. Jeff Samardzija will pitch here, going a relatively poor 4-7 so far.

Prediction: Padres $1.60

The Giants offence has largely struggled this season and I don’t see that changing against someone with Allen’s quality. As long as he gets some decent run support, San Diego look like very strong value here.

Monday, July 1

Chicago White Sox vs Minnesota Twins, 4:10 am
Twins

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox have been in some poor form of late, slumping to 38-42. Jose Abreu is easily their strongest offensive contributor, going for 19 home runs and 60 RBI. Ace Lucas Giolito will pitch here, going a superb 10-2 so far this season.

Minnesota Twins

The Twins have been in superb form all season, now sitting at 53-29. Rosario and Kepler have been their offensive engines, both going reaching 20 home runs. After a lot of hype, Aussie pitcher Lewis Thorpe will make his debut in this one.

Prediction: Twins

It’d be downright unpatriotic not to back Thorpe here, who has shown a ton of promise in the minor leagues. He has an excellent batting lineup and pitching staff supporting him, which I expect to prove enough in this one.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Pittsburgh Pirates, 4:10 am
Brewers $1.62

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers are also surprisingly slumping, now sitting at 43-39. Yelich and Moustakas are still killing it, combining for over 50 home runs and 110 RBI. Zach Davies has been solid all season, going 7-2 with a 3.34 ERA.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates are on a recent surge, moving up to 39-41. Josh Bell has put this team on his back, going off for 70 RBI on the season. Stephen Brault will pitch here, going 3-1 with a 4.5 ERA so far.

Prediction: Brewers $1.62

Despite some recent struggles, I believe Milwaukee is clearly the better of these two sides. Davies is an excellent pitcher and I expect another solid day at the office from him as the catalyst for this win.

San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks, 6:05 am
Giants $1.92

San Francisco Giants

The Giants continue to struggle, now sitting at just 35-47. They are finally starting to get some offence, with Belt, Pillar, and Sandoval all hitting 10 home runs. Madison Bumgarner will pitch here, going a relatively poor 4-7 so far.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks are just above .500 at 43-42. This is in large part due to Ketel Marte, who has gone above both 20 home runs and 50 RBI. Robbie Ray will pitch here, going a middling 5-5 with a 3.90 ERA.

Prediction: Giants $1.92

These are two relatively evenly matched sides but I believe Bumgarner is finally starting to be undervalued. He is still a solid pitcher in this league and I expect a strong day from him to propel SF to victory.

Sunday, June 30

Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees, 3:10 am
Red Sox $2.25

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox have been in decent recent form, moving to 44-38. Xander Bogaerts has been particularly good, going for 15 home runs and 55 RBI this season. Rick Porcello will pitch here, going a relatively poor 5-7 with a 4.52 ERA.

New York Yankees

The Yankees continue to be one of the MLB’s form teams, moving to a strong 52-28. Gary Sanchez has been excellent, topping both 20 home runs and 50 RBI in just 60 appearances. Masahiro Tanaka is their projected pitcher, going 5-5 with a strong 3.21 ERA.

Prediction: Red Sox $2.25

The Red Sox look like decent value as substantial underdogs here, largely due to their improved hitting of late. I think Porcello is a better pitcher than his numbers indicate and he should deliver the goods in this one.

Miami Marlins vs Philadelphia Phillies, 6:10 am
Phillies $1.74

Miami Marlins

The Marlins are actually showing signs of life, moving up to 31-49. Brian Anderson has been on a tear, leading the way with 11 home runs and 37 RBI. Jordan Yamamoto will pitch here, going a surprisingly impressive 3-0 so far.

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies continue to be inconsistent, sitting just 43-39. Bryce Harper has still been a solid acquisition, leading the squad with 55 RBI. Zach Eflin will pitch here, going 7-7 with a 3.26 ERA this season.

Prediction: Phillies $1.74

I think this is a great time to sell high on the Jordan Yamamoto stock. The Philly offence is capable of a big day here and I expect a consistent display from Zach Eflin to be enough on the other side.

Colorado Rockies vs Los Angeles Dodgers, 10:15 am
Dodgers $1.62

Colorado Rockies

The Rockies have been in decent recent form, moving up to 43-39. Nolan Arenado has emerged as a stud, leading the way with 20 home runs and 64 RBI. Jon Gray will pitch here, going a decent 8-5 with a 3.92 ERA so far.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are arguably the best team in baseball, now sitting a solid 56-28. Bellinger continues to dominate, putting up a gaudy stat line of 27 home runs and 64 RBI. Ace Clayton Kershaw will pitch here, going a solid 7-1 with a 3.07 ERA.

Prediction: Dodgers $1.62

It’s tough to fade Kershaw with the form he is in right now. Especially if he gets solid support from his relief staff and batters, this should be another routine win for LA.

Saturday, June 29

Cincinnati Reds vs Chicago Cubs, 9:10 am
Cubs

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds are falling out of the playoff race, currently sitting 36-42. Yasiel Puig has really come on of late, leading the way with 45 RBI. Sonny Gray will pitch here, going 3-5 with a 4.03 ERA this season.

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs have been decent yet unspectacular so far, winning 43 of their first 80. Baez and Rizzo continue to dominate offensively, both going for 19 home runs and 50+ RBI. Cole Hamels will pitch here, sporting a strong 6-2 record with an ERA under 3.

Prediction: Cubs

The Cubs are comfortably the better of these two sides and they’ve got a really strong pitching option in Hamels. I think their strong batting lineup can get after Gray here, making for a comfortable road win.

Houston Astros vs Seattle Mariners, 10:10 am
Astros

Houston Astros

The Astros have been stellar all season and are one of the first sides to rack up 50 wins. Alex Bregman has had a consistently excellent campaign, leading the way with 22 home runs and 52 RBI. Wade Miley will pitch here, going a strong 6-4 with a 3.51 ERA.

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners have been decent fade material of late, consistently finding themselves below .500. Encarnacion has provided strong offence from 1st base, leading the team with 21 home runs. Tommy Milone has gone 1-2 pitching so far with a 3.35 ERA.

Prediction: Astros

Miley at home against a poor Mariners side looks like almost free money here. The Astros have been inconsistent of late, but I expect their dominance to shine through in this one.

San Diego Padres vs St Louis Cardinals, 12:10 pm
Padres

San Diego Padres

The Padres have been average all season, currently sitting .500. Renfroe and Reyes have been offensively dominant, combining for an impressive 46 home runs. Eric Lauer will pitch here, sporting a poor 5-7 record and 4.32 ERA.

St Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals have also been inconsistent, similarly hovering around .500. Marcell Ozuna is almost a lone ranger offensively, leading the way with 20 home runs and 62 RBI. Michael Wacha will pitch here, going 5-3 with a 5.59 ERA this season.

Prediction: Padres

These sides are relatively evenly matched, but I think the big hitting of Renfroe and Reyes could prove crucial. I think Lauer is also better than his record indicates and we should see a stellar display from him here.

Friday, June 28

Philadelphia Phillies vs New York Mets, 3:05 am
Phillies $1.70

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies got another important win last time out, moving to 42-38 in the process. Jean Segura was the standout, going for 2 hits and 3 RBI. Aaron Nola has been a solid pitcher this season, going 6-2 despite a high 4.55 ERA.

New York Mets

The Mets haven’t been as consistent, winning just 37 of their 80 games to start. Michael Conforto has been a solid offensive contributor, going for 16 home runs and 41 RBI. Zack Wheeler will pitch here, going a middling 6-5 with his 4.69 ERA.

Prediction: Phillies $1.70

I think the Phillies are the better team in this one and they’ve got a slight edge in the pitching department. Their offence should be able to get after Wheeler here, making for a relatively comfortable home win.

Minnesota Twins vs Tampa Bay Rays, 3:10 am
Twins

Minnesota Twins

The Twins have been one of the premier sides in baseball, sporting an excellent 52-27 record. Eddie Rosario has been their offensive engine all season, going for 20 home runs and 60 RBI. Martin Perez will pitch in this one, having gone a strong 7-3 so far.

Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays also loom as a strong playoff contender, going 45-35 themselves to start this season. Brandon Lowe has been especially solid, hitting 15 home runs and 47 RBI. A probable pitcher is yet to be announced for Tampa in this one.

Prediction: Twins

The Twins are the better overall side here and they’ve got a particularly strong home field advantage. If Perez can deliver another solid display, I’d back them pretty handily here.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Seattle Mariners, 4:10 am
Brewers $1.56

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers have stumbled of late, falling to just 42-38 with some weak performances. This is despite the heroics of Christian Yelich, who has 29 home runs to go with 63 RBI. Chase Anderson will pitch here, going 3-2 with a 4.7 ERA.

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners have also faded after a strong start, now sitting 37-47. Domingo Santana continues his stellar season, leading the way with 60 RBI. Mike Leake is the projected pitcher here, going a decent 7-6 so far.

Prediction: Brewers $1.56

Despite their recent struggles, the Brewers are a very talented side and should really dominate their opponents here. Anderson is a strong pitcher at this level and I expect another solid day at the office for him in this one.

Thursday, June 27

Boston Red Sox vs Chicago White Sox, 3:05 am
Red Sox

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox have been in decent form of late, winning 43 of their first 80 this season. J.D. Martinez has been solid, leading the side with 16 home runs. Chris Sale will pitch here, sporting a poor 3-7 record despite a decent 3.59 ERA.

Chicago White Sox

The Sox have been inconsistent all season and now sit 4 games under .500. Jose Abreu continues to lead the way with 18 home runs and 55 RBI. Pitcher Reynaldo Lopez has struggled all year, going 4-7 with a 6.23 ERA.

Prediction: Red Sox

The Red Sox are comfortably the better side here, featuring a deeper batting lineup and stronger pitching staff. Despite some poor displays this season, I still feel as though Chris Sale is a solid pitcher who will get the job done here.

Baltimore Orioles vs San Diego Padres, 5:05 am
Padres

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles continue to struggle, sitting just 22-56 on the season. Trey Mancini is their main offensive threat, totalling 17 home runs and 36 RBI so far. Dylan Bundy will pitch here, going a dreadful 3-9 with a 4.59 ERA.

San Diego Padres

The Padres have been on a slide of late, moving down to 38-40. Eric Hosmer keeps piling on the RBI’s, leading the way with 51. Matt Strahm will pitch here, going a very poor 2-6 with a 4.85 ERA this season.

Prediction: Padres

The Orioles have struggled all season and I don’t see that changing here. I expect a big day from the Padres offence against Dylan Bundy, which should be comfortably enough to get the job done.

Detroit Tigers vs Texas Rangers, 9:10 am
Rangers

Tigers

The Tigers have been atrocious this season, starting just 26-47. Brandon Dixon has impressed offensively, going for 9 home runs and 30 RBI in his 46 appearances. Mathew Boyd will start here, going 5-5 with a 3.61 ERA this season.

Rangers

The Rangers have been very solid of late, now moving to 42-36. Hunter Pence leads the offence, going for 15 home runs and 48 RBI so far. Mike Minor is slated to pitch here, going a very strong 7-4 with a 2.52 ERA.

Prediction: Rangers

The Rangers are very much a form team and Mike Minor is an excellent pitcher at this level. I just can’t see Detroit scoring too many here, making for a relatively easy Texas road win.

Wednesday, June 26

Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals, 9:05 am
Marlins $2.85

Miami Marlins

4 straight wins have brought Miami to a somewhat respectable 30-46. Starlin Castro is looking sharp, recently topping 30 RBI for the season. Trevor Richards will pitch here, going 3-7 with a 3.54 ERA this season.

Washington Nationals

The Nationals enter a crucial stretch sitting at 37-40. Anthony Rendon has been key all season, hitting 17 home runs to go with his 53 RBI. Max Scherzer will pitch here, going 6-5 with a 2.62 ERA so far.

Prediction: Marlins $2.85

I’ve had success fading Scherzer this season and plan to continue to do so here. The Marlins are in excellent form right now and I expect their offence to get after him, while Richards does enough to secure the win.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Seattle Mariners, 10:10 am
Brewers $1.56

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers have had a stellar campaign and now find themselves at 32-46. They’ve had 4 players already reach 40 RBI, indicative of their depth and quality. Zach Davies will pitch here, going an excellent 7-1 with a 3.06 ERA.

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners have been in some decent form, moving to 35-47. Domingo Santana has been excellent, going for 17 home runs and 59 RBI. Marco Gonzales will pitch here, going 8-6 with a 4.38 ERA this season.

Prediction: Brewers $1.56

Davies has been one of the premier MLB pitchers this season and I don’t anticipate much trouble for him against Seattle. I expect the quality Brewers lineup to get after Gonzales en route to a comfortable home win.

St Louis Cardinals vs Oakland A’s, 10:15 am
Cardinals $1.70

St Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals dominated their series with the Angels, moving to 40-37 in the process. Paul Goldschmidt is still going strong, going for 14 home runs and 31 RBI so far. Jack Flaherty will pitch here, sporting a 4-4 record and 3.24 ERA.

Oakland A’s

The A’s have also been in stellar form, moving to 41-38. Matt Chapman leads the way offensively, going for 18 home runs and 43 RBI. Chris Bassitt will pitch here, going 4-3 with a 3.64 ERA so far.

Prediction: Cardinals $1.70

The Cardinals are the better of these two sides, with home field and a stronger batting lineup. I think Flaherty can deliver a resurgent performance here, making St Louis quite strong value at $1.70.

Tuesday, June 25th

Philadelphia Phillies vs New York Mets, 9:05 am
Phillies $1.80

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies are now just above .500, sitting at 38-39. This is despite strong hitting from Harper and Hoskins, who have both reached 50 RBI. Jake Arrieta will pitch here, going a middling 6-6 with a 4.12 ERA.

New York Mets

The Mets have been consistently inconsistent, now sitting at 37-41. Pete Alonso continues to keep them afloat with his 27 home runs and 61 RBI. Steven Matz will pitch here, going 5-5 with a 4.27 ERA so far.

Prediction: Phillies $1.80

I think the Phillies are a better side, with a stronger batting lineup and better pitching staff here. Combine that talent edge with a strong home field and they look good value at this price.

Chicago Cubs vs Atlanta Braves, 10:05 am
Cubs $1.85

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs are looking like a legit playoff contender, now 42-35 this season. 1st Baseman Anthony Rizzo has been excellent, totalling 19 home runs and 54 RBI. Ace Jon Lester will pitch here, going 6-5 with a 4.13 ERA.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves have continued their stellar recent form, now sitting at 46-32. Freddie Freeman has been on a tear of late, going for 21 homers and 61 RBI. Julio Teheran will pitch here, going 5-5 with a 3.40 ERA this season.

Prediction: Cubs $1.85

While Lester hasn’t had his best season, I still think he’s a premier pitching option in this league. I expect him to control the game here, while Chicago’s big hitting does enough to seal the home win.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Los Angeles Dodgers, 11:40 am
Dodgers $1.67

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks got a much-needed win over the Giants yesterday, moving to 39-40. Tim Locastro led off well, going for 2 hits and 2 clutch RBI in the win. Zack Greinke will pitch here, going a solid 8-3 on the season.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are arguably the premier side in baseball, now sitting at 54-25. Cody Bellinger has been outstanding, totalling 25 home runs and 61 RBI to lead the way. Ace Clayton Kershaw will pitch here, going an excellent 7-1 with a 2.85 ERA.

Prediction: Dodgers $1.67

While Greinke is an outstanding pitcher, it’s tough to fade Kershaw at a price like this. He has the much stronger hitters behind him and I expect a strong night from the Dodgers offence to propel them to victory here.
