St Louis Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Pirates, 3:15 am
Cardinals $1.74

St Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals are hovering just above .500, now at 47-45. Marcell Ozuna continues to be a revelation offensively, leading the way with 20 home runs and 62 RBI. Daniel Ponce de Leon will pitch here, going 1-0 in his lone start this season.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates are somehow still afloat, now sitting at 44-49. Who knows where they’d be without Josh Bell, who has an outstanding 27 home runs and 84 RBI. Chris Archer will pitch here, going a poor 3-6 with a 5.42 ERA.

Prediction: Cardinals $1.74

I think the Cardinals have the slight edge across the park here and should get the job done at home. Pittsburgh is far too reliant on Josh Bell and if he doesn’t get going, I expect a comfortable win for St Louis.

Philadelphia Phillies vs Los Angeles Dodgers, 9:05 am
Dodgers $1.62

Philadelphia Phillies

The season has been somewhat disappointing for Philly, who’ve gone just 48-46 to start. Bryce Harper has had a stellar debut season, going for 16 home runs and 62 RBI. Nick Pivetta will pitch here, going 4-4 with a 5.81 ERA this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers continue to ball, starting the campaign with a 63-33 record. Cody Bellinger has been excellent all season, putting up 33 home runs and 75 RBI. Kenta Maeda will pitch here, going 7-6 with a 3.82 ERA so far.

Prediction: Dodgers $1.62

The Dodgers look like the best team in baseball right now, while the Phillies are consistently inconsistent. Pivetta has largely struggled all season and I don’t think he can contain this Dodgers offence in what will ultimately prove the difference.

Texas Rangers vs Arizona Diamondbacks, 10:05 am
Rangers $2.05

Texas Rangers

The Rangers playoff hopes are still very much alive, currently at 50-44. Nomar Mazara has really come on of late, leading the team with 51 RBI. Jesse Chavez will pitch here, going 3-4 with a 3.84 ERA this season.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks have remained at exactly .500, starting the year 47-47. Eduardo Escobar has been very strong of late, leading the team with 19 home runs and 68 RBI. Robbie Ray is slated to pitch here, going 7-6 with a 3.81 ERA so far.

Prediction: Rangers $2.05

I think the Rangers are the slightly better squad here and with home field advantage, they really should be favoured. Their offence should have some success here and they look like good value if Chavez can deliver another solid performance.

Wednesday, July 17

Miami Marlins vs San Diego Padres, 9:10 am
Padres $1.77

Miami Marlins

The Marlins continue to struggle, losing again yesterday to move to 34-57. Brian Anderson remains their main offensive threat, eclipsing 40 RBI just last week. Jordan Yamamoto will pitch here, going an impressive 3-0 so far with a 1.24 ERA.

San Diego Padres

The Padres have been fading of late, moving down to 45-48. Machado, Renfroe, and Reyes have made an outstanding trio, going for 75 home runs. Logan Allen will pitch in this one, going 2-1 in limited action so far.

Prediction: Padres $1.77

Despite Yamamoto’s impressive start, I think the Padres are the considerably better side here. I expect a strong pitching day from Allen that really contains this poor Marlins offence.

Chicago Cubs vs Cincinnati Reds, 10:05 am
Cubs $1.74

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs have looked decent of late, recently reaching 50 wins. Javier Baez leads the way offensively, going for 22 home runs and 63 RBI. Alec Mills gets his first pitching start of the season in this one.

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds are still in with a shout, currently sitting at 42-48. Yasiel Puig is finally coming good, putting up a respectable 21 home runs and 55 RBI. Anthony DeSclafani will pitch here, going 5-4 with a 4.26 ERA so far.

Prediction: Cubs $1.74

Given the talent gap between these two sides, I think we’re getting good value on the Cubs in this spot. Alec Mills has impressed a lot in the minors and I expect a solid day from him here to prove enough for the win.

Kansas City Royals vs Chicago White Sox, 10:15 am
White Sox $1.85

Kansas City Royals

KC have been relatively atrocious all season, starting just 32-62. Gordon and Mondesi have really faded of late, combining for just 17 home runs this year. Glenn Sparkman will pitch here, going just 2-5 with a 5.18 ERA.

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox have been slightly better, finding themselves 5 games below .500. Youngster Eloy Jimenez has impressed of late, registering 17 home runs this season. Dylan Cease will pitch here, going 1-0 in his lone start of the season.

Prediction: White Sox $1.85

This is a relatively tight matchup on paper but I can’t not fade the Royals at this price. I think Chicago’s sluggers will really get after Sparkman here, which will ultimately prove enough for the win.

Tuesday, July 16th

Cleveland Indians vs Detroit Tigers, 9:10 am
Indians $1.56

Cleveland Indians

The Indians moved to 51-40 with a solid win over Minnesota last time out. Carlos Santana had another strong game with 2 walks and a clutch RBI. Adam Plutko will pitch in this one, going 3-1 with a 4.95 ERA so far.

Detroit Tigers

The Tigers have been cellar dwellers all year, now sitting at 29-59. Brandon Dixon has been a solid offensive contributor, going for 12 home runs and 37 RBI in 59 games. Daniel Norris is slated to pitch here, going an awful 2-8 with a 4.96 ERA.

Prediction: Indians $1.56

The Indians are comfortably the better of these two sides and have a huge edge in the pitching department. I just can’t see Detroit really scoring here, making strong value on Cleveland at this number.

Kansas City Royals vs Chicago White Sox, 10:15 am
White Sox $1.77

Kansas City Royals

After another poor loss yesterday, the Royals sit at just 32-62. Jorge Soler remains their main offensive threat, going for 25 home runs and 64 RBI. Jakob Junis will pitch here, going just 4-8 with a 5.33 ERA so far.

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox are looking in real danger, falling to just 42-47. Jose Abreu is still providing very solid offence, going for 21 home runs and 66 RBI. Lucas Giolito will pitch here, having gone a very solid 11-3 with a 3.15 ERA this season.

Prediction: White Sox $1.77

Against a lacklustre Royals offence, I think a pitcher of Giolito’s quality gives Chicago a huge edge here. Led by Jose Abreu, I expect their offence to prove just enough to get a crucial road win in this one.

St Louis Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Pirates, 10:15 am
Cardinals $1.74

St Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals have edged just over .500 again, now at 46-45. Marcell Ozuna continues to enjoy a stellar season, going for 20 home runs and 62 RBI. Miles Mikolas will pitch in this one, going a relatively poor 5-9 with a 4.53 ERA so far.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates keep plugging away, remaining in contention at 44-48. Josh Bell continues to have a superhuman season, leading the way with 27 home runs and 84 RBI. Joe Musgrave is slated to pitch here, going 6-7 with a 4.15 ERA.

Prediction: Cardinals $1.74

These two sides are relatively evenly matched but I think St Louis just has the deeper and more versatile batting lineup. Combine that with a strong home field and I think their offence does just enough here to win.

Monday, July 15

Cleveland Indians vs Minnesota Twins, 3:10 am
Twins $2.20

Cleveland Indians

The Indians have had a solid season so far, currently sitting at 50-40. Carlos Santana has been particularly strong, leading the way with 20 home runs and 53 RBI. Shane Bieber is slated to pitch here, going 8-3 with a 3.45 ERA so far.

Minnesota Twins

The Twins are looking like very strong contenders, going 58-31 on the season. Rosario and Kepler have been the main contributors, combining for 43 home runs and 118 RBI. Ace Jose Berrios will pitch here, going 8-5 with an ERA of 3.

Prediction: Twins $2.20

Even with some recent struggles, I continue to think that Berrios is one of the better pitchers in the league. I can see the Minnesota offence having some success against Bieber here, with the pitchers doing just enough to steal a road win.

Colorado Rockies vs Cincinnati Reds, 5:10 am
Rockies $1.88

Colorado Rockies

The Rockies have been consistently inconsistent, going .500 through their first 90. This is despite some strong offensive production from Arenado and Blackman, who have 20 home runs apiece. Antonio Senzatela will pitch here, going 7-6 with a 5.32 ERA so far.

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds look unlikely to make a playoff appearance, entering this one 6 games under .500. Both Eugenio Suarez and Yasiel Puig have contributed well offensively, each reaching 20 home runs and 50 RBI. Tyler Mahle will pitch here, sporting an atrocious 2-9 record so far.

Prediction: Rockies $1.88

While Senzatela doesn’t have a great ERA, I expect him to contain a relatively thin Cincinnati offense here. Colorado has the hitters to get after Mahle here, worsening his poor record with another home win.

Boston Red Sox vs Los Angeles Dodgers, 9:05 am
Dodgers $1.92

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox were smoked by LA yesterday, moving to 50-42 in the process. Xander Bogaerts remains their lead man offensively, going for 19 home runs and 70 RBI. David Price will pitch here, going a very solid 7-2 with a 3.24 ERA.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are very much title contenders, with yesterday’s win moving them to 61-33. Cody Bellinger is having an other-worldly season, putting up 31 home runs and 73 RBI. Hyun-Jin Ryu has been even better than his counterpart, going 10-2 with a 1.73 ERA so far.

Prediction: Dodgers $1.92

I expect the Red Sox to be well up for this, but the fact is that the Dodgers are the better and more well-rounded team. The Boston offence will likely struggle to get after Ryu here, extending his already excellent record in a crucial road win.

Sunday, July 14

Miami Marlins vs New York Mets, 4:10 am
Mets $1.67

Miami Marlins

The Marlins enter this one after some better recent form, now sitting 34-55. 3rd Baseman Brian Anderson still leads the way offensively, going for 12 home runs to match his 40 RBI. Catcher Jorge Alfaro has also been in strong recent form, achieving 10 home runs and 30 RBI of his own. They’ll look to continue this form in front of Zach Gallen, who is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA this season.

New York Mets

The Mets aren’t in that much better form themselves, now sitting just 40-51. Pete Alonso continues a truly stellar offensive campaign, leading the way with 30 home runs and 68 RBI. Right Fielder MIichael Conforto is providing some nice support with 16 home runs and 44 RBI of his own. Noah Syndergaard is slated to pitch here, going a respectable 6-4 so far.

Prediction: Mets $1.67

In a relatively even matchup, I think the Mets are in better pitching hands here. Gallen just doesn’t have Syndergaard’s success so far, who I think can really limit the Miami attack. Especially at solid odds of $1.67, I’ll take New York on the road here.

Milwaukee Brewers vs San Francisco Giants, 9:15 am
Brewers $1.80

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers have struggled somewhat of late, now sitting at just 47-45. They did manage an epic 7-0 road win over the Giants yesterday, getting 2 RBI each from Braun, Thames, and Hiura. This backs up an excellent campaign from Christian Yelich, who already has 31 home runs and 67 RBI of his own. The reliable Zach Davies will pitch in this one, going 7-2 with a 3.07 ERA.

San Francisco Giants

The G-Men have also been in the win column of late, moving up to 42-48. Kevin Pillar has been their staple offensive option all year, leading the way with 12 home runs and 47 RBI. Evan Longoria has really come on of late, registering 13 home runs and 39 RBI of his own. Ace Madison Bumgarner will pitch here, although he is just 5-7 with a 4.03 ERA.

Prediction: Brewers $1.80

I’ve had good success backing Davies on the road this season and don’t plan to back away now. He has been excellent all year long and really shouldn’t have much trouble against a lacklustre Giants offence. Combine this with big hitting from his boys in Milwaukee and the Brewers look very solid value at $1.80.

Saturday, July 13

Philadelphia Phillies vs Washington Nationals, 8:05 am
Phillies $2.25

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies exit the All Star break looking to build on their solid 47-43 start. They’ll want a strong second half of the season for Bryce harper, who currently boasts 16 home runs and 42 RBI. Nick Pivetta will pitch here, going 4-3 with a 5.84 ERA so far.

Washington Nationals

The Nationals have rebounded nicely to now sit at 47-42. Anthony Rendon has been excellent when healthy, leading the way with 20 home runs and 62 RBI. Max Scherzer will pitch here, going 9-5 with a 2.3 ERA so far.

Prediction: Phillies $2.25

Despite his solid recent form, Scherzer has largely been good fade material for punters so far. I think that the Sixers offence can get after him here, while Pivetta does just enough to secure a home win.

Baltimore Orioles vs Tampa Bay Rays, 9:05 am
Rays $1.65

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles have had a dreadful start to the campaign, winning just 27 games so far. Renato Nunez has provided some resistance, going for 20 home runs and 49 RBI. Dylan Bundy will pitch here, going a poor 4-10 with a 4.65 ERA so far this season.

Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays have been quietly very strong this season, going 52-39 so far. Brandon Lowe is their primary offensive weapon, going for 16 home runs and 49 RBI. Yonny Chirinos will pitch here, going a respectable 7-4 with a 3.15 ERA.

Prediction: Rays $1.65

Even at $1.65, I think there is very strong value on the Rays in this spot. They are comfortably the better of these two sides and should easily contain a dismal Baltimore offence here.

St Louis Cardinals vs Arizona Diamondbacks, 10:15 am
Cardinals $1.80

St Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals exit the All-Star break at a middling 44-44. Marcell Ozuna is still their premier offensive threat, going for 20 home runs and 62 RBI. Adam Wainwright will pitch in this one, going 5-7 with a 4.31 ERA so far.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks find themselves just above .500 at 46-45 so far. Eduardo Escobar is killing it offensively this season, leading the way with 67 RBI. They are yet to announce a starting pitcher, although their staff has largely struggled outside of Zack Greinke.

Prediction: Cardinals $1.80

At home and with Greinke unlikely to pitch for Arizona, I think St Louis is the better of these two sides. They have the more dynamic and versatile offence, which should be enough to get them over the line here.

Monday, July 8

Houston Astros vs Los Angeles Angels, 4:10 am
Astros $1.62

Houston Astros

The Astros enter this one in very stellar form, moving to 56-33. Alex Bregman continues to have a standout offensive season, going for 23 home runs and 56 RBI. Jose Urquidy is slated to pitch here, having only pitched just over 3 innings this season.

Los Angeles Angels

Despite a ton of talent, the Angels are still just .500 at 45-45. Center Fielder Mike Trout can’t be faulted, leading the way with 26 home runs and 63 RBI. Jose Suarez will pitch in this one, going 2-1 despite a 5.4 ERA so far.

Prediction: Astros $1.62

Even with an inexperienced pitcher, I still think Houston is one of the most complete teams in the majors. Their offence should really get after Suarez in this one and lead to a relatively comfortable home win.

Chicago White Sox vs Chicago Cubs, 4:10 am
Cubs $1.62

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox lost the first battle of Chicago, moving to 41-44. Outside of Jose Abreu, they’ve struggled to generate consistent offence all year. Ivan Nova will pitch here, sporting a poor 3-7 record to go with his 5.92 ERA.

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs are strongly in wildcard contention, currently sitting at 47-42. Baez and Rizzo have been dominant all year, combining for 41 home runs and 117 RBI. Kyle Hendricks will pitch here, going a respectable 7-6 with a 3.45 ERA.

Prediction: Cubs $1.62

The Cubs are simply the better of these two sides and they’ve got a very strong pitching edge here. I expect another solid display from Hendricks, coupled with some big hitting to easily win here.

San Francisco Giants vs St Louis Cardinals, 6:05 am
Cardinals $1.80

San Francisco Giants

The Giants have been in somewhat better form of late, moving to 39-48. Kevin Pillar has been especially solid, leading the team with 12 home runs and 47 RBI. Jeff Samardzija is slated to pitch here, going 5-7 with a 4.32 ERA so far.

St Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals are in with a wildcard shot, now sitting at 44-42. Marcell Ozuna has been stellar all season, going for 20 home runs and 62 RBI. Jack Flaherty will pitch here, going 4-5 with a 4.90 ERA this season.

Prediction: Cardinals $1.80

Despite a recent run of form, I don’t think this Giants team is particularly good. I expect the St Louis offence to really get after the Shark here, while a stellar display from Flaherty seals the win.

Sunday, July 7

Cincinnati Reds vs Cleveland Indians, 6:10 am
Indians $1.74

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds have been on a mini surge, winning 3 straight to move to 41-44. Eugenio Suarez leads the way offensively with 20 home runs and 54 RBI. Anthony DeSclafani will pitch here, going a middling 5-4 with a 4.35 ERA.

Cleveland Indians

The Indians have been in good form themselves, moving to 48-38 after dominating KC. Carlos Santana earned a home run derby appearance, leading his side with 19 homers and 52 RBI. Shane Bieber will pitch here, sporting an impressive 7-3 record to match his 3.54 ERA.

Prediction: Indians $1.74

I think the Indians are clearly the better of these two sides with a strong edge in the pitching department. As long as their offence can get after DeSclafani, I think they look real value at this price.

Tampa Bay Rays vs New York Yankees, 6:10 am
Rays $1.67

Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays have been a consistently strong side this season, reaching 50 wins already. Brandon Lowe has been solid with the bat, leading the way with 16 home runs and 49 RBI. Ace Blake Snell will pitch here, going 5-7 with a 4.87 ERA.

New York Yankees

The Yankees continue to loom as a world series favourite, racing out to 56 wins. DJ LeMahieu is having an underrated year, leading the way with 12 home runs and 63 RBI. Big CC Sabathia will pitch here, going 5-4 with a 4.04 ERA.

Prediction: Rays $1.67

Against good teams with deep offences, I just don’t think CC Sabathia has it anymore. Snell is a better pitcher than his numbers suggest and I expect him to contain the Yankees en route to another home win.

Seattle Mariners vs Oakland A’s, 12:10 pm
A's $1.67

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners continue to struggle mightily, now sitting 15 games below .500. Domingo Santana has been very impressive, leading his side with 63 RBI. Marco Gonzales will pitch here, going a solid 9-7 with a 4.39 ERA.

Oakland A’s

Oakland are in a very rich vein of form, moving all the way to 48-40. Matt Chapman and Khris Davis have both been excellent, combining for 21 home runs and 52 RBI. Chris Bassitt will pitch here, sporting a 5-3 record and 3.8 ERA this season.

Prediction: A’s $1.67

The Mariners continue to fade while the surging A’s look on pace for a playoff berth. I know their offence can get after Gonzalez here, while Bassitt does enough to contain them on the other end.

Saturday, July 6

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Milwaukee Brewers, 9:05 am
Brewers $1.88

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates have been in some decent form of late, moving up to 42-44. Josh Bell continues to put up insane numbers, going for 26 home runs and 81 RBI. Steven Brault will pitch in this one, going 3-1 with a 4.29 ERA so far.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers have stumbled somewhat of late, but still find themselves 46-42. Christian Yelich is their offensive ace, going for 31 home runs and 67 RBI so far. Zach Davies will pitch here, going a very strong 7-2 with a 3.24 ERA.

Prediction: Brewers $1.88

I think the Brewers are the better team in this matchup and they’ve got a huge edge in the pitching department. As long as their strong set of hitters can get after Brault, I really like their chances at this price.

New York Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies, 9:10 am
Phillies $2.75

New York Mets

The Mets have had yet another underwhelming season, sitting just 39-48. They’ve struggled on offence, with only Michael Conforto really supporting Pete Alonso. Jacob DeGrom will pitch here, sporting a poor 4-7 record and 3.32 ERA.

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies remain in the wildcard hunt, going 45-42 so far. Rhys Hoskins has displayed some excellent big hitting, going for a team-leading 19 home runs. Vince Velasquez will pitch here, also struggling to the tune of a 2-5 record.

Prediction: Phillies $2.75

In what I deem to be a coin-flip type of game, I think there is real value on Philly at this price. If Velasquez can keep things under control, their offence has what it takes to get the job done here.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs San Diego Padres, 12:10 pm
Dodgers $1.50

Los Angeles Dodgers

Nothing has changed for the Dodgers, who have raced out to a strong 59-29 record. Max Muncy has supported Cody Bellinger nicely, adding 20 home runs and 58 RBI. Ace Clayton Kershaw will pitch here, going a stellar 7-2 with a 3.23 ERA so far.

San Diego Padres

The Padres are starting to drift below .500, currently sitting 42-44. The big hitting of Machado, Renfroe, and Reyes has been very useful, combining for 70 home runs. Eric Lauer is slated to pitch here, going 5-7 with a 4.22 ERA so far.

Prediction: Dodgers $1.50

While the price point isn’t ideal, the Dodgers are probably the most likely team on the slate to win today. Kershaw should be near untouchable, while I expect their star studded offence to get after Lauer in a routine home win.

Friday, July 5

Kansas City Royals vs Cleveland Indians, 3:15 am
Indians $1.85

Kansas City Royals

The Royals are still sitting in dire straits, going just 29-58 so far. Jorge Soler is their only capable hitter, going for a solid 23 home runs and 57 RBI. Homer Bailey will pitch here, sporting a decent 7-6 record despite a 4.87 ERA.

Cleveland Indians

The Indians are looking like playoff contenders, sitting at 47-38. Carlos Santana is their offensive leader, going for 19 home runs and 52 RBI so far. Zach Plesac will pitch here, going 3-3 with a 3.61 ERA.

Prediction: Indians $1.85

This looks like well over the odds for a Cleveland side that is significantly better than their opponents. I expect a relatively low scoring affair, with a strong pitching day from Plesac the catalyst behind a road win.

Oakland A’s vs Minnesota Twins, 6:05 am
Twins $1.74

Oakland A’s

The A’s have improved significantly of late, moving up to 47-39. Matt Chapman has been a huge catalyst, going over 20 home runs and 50 RBI. Tanner Anderson will pitch here, going 0-3 with an atrocious 7.13 ERA.

Minnesota Twins

The Twins are still one of baseball’s best sides, going 53-31 to start. Rosario and Kepler have been an excellent offensive duo, combining for 41 home runs and 113 RBI. Jose Berrios will pitch here, going a strong 8-4 with a 2.89 ERA.

Prediction: Twins $1.74

The Twins have a huge pitching advantage here and I expect another very solid display from Berrios. They’ve also got the offensive weapons to get after Anderson, which should lead to a comfortable road win.

Texas Rangers vs Los Angeles Angels, 10:05 am
Rangers $1.77

Texas Rangers

The Rangers have been solid so far, sporting a 46-40 record on the season. Joey Gallo’s big hitting has been huge, going for 20 home runs in just 58 games. Lance Lynn is slated to pitch here, going 10-4 with an ERA of 4.

Los Angeles Angels

The Angels have edged themselves over .500, now sitting 44-43. Mike Trout has really stepped up, leading the way with 22 home runs and 57 RBI. Felix Pena will pitch here, going 5-2 despite a high 4.73 ERA.

Prediction: Rangers $1.77

Especially at home, the Rangers have the slight matchup advantage across the board in this one. Lynn has been very effective at home of late and I expect him to restrict this Angels offence here.
