Daily Dogs – Wednesday, December 4

IPSWICH: Race 1 (1:42pm)
No. 3 Maroon Legend

Maroon Legend has been the runner up in three starts to date and looks well placed to break through.

Two runs back he tried hard to chase down the leader but just couldn’t get there and last time, he was wide early off the outside box and chased strongly to get within .3 of a length.

He’s certainly capable and I think he’ll get the job done today.

IPSWICH: Race 3 (2:27pm)
No. 7 Volatile

Volatile is unbeaten after two race starts and can make it three straight.

The Fernando Bale youngster was a dominant winner here on debut, jumping away fairly he picked up strongly and continued to extend his margin, going on to score by over five lengths.

It was similar story last time as again, he jumped away on terms but soon found the front and powered away to score by just under four lengths.

If he gets away clean, he’ll be very hard to beat.

IPSWICH Race 6: (3:27pm)
No. 6 Ordell

Ordell has only tasted defeat on the one occasion in his six start career and the son of Aston Rupee looks highly talented.

At his third outing he got checked and buffeted around in the early part but still managed to pick himself up and claim third.

He’s since put together three straight wins and with even luck, can continue on his winning way.

IPSWICH Race 10: (4:54pm)
No. 4 Spring Ned

Spring Ned has been racing in top form but just had no luck at all last start.

The son of Zipping Garth truck trouble early and was never in it from that point.

Prior to that he’d run a strong second here on the back of four straight victories.

All of his runs have been over this course and distance and he remains unbeaten in two starts out of box four.

Daily Dogs – Tuesday, December 3

Horsham: Race 2 (3:14pm)
No. 1 Top Flight

Top Flight should have his share of admirers again in his second start.

The son of Beast Unleashed was well-supported on debut, running on late from out wide to grab third.

He’s drawn an inside box this time and should be fast into stride.

Horsham: Race 4 (3:54pm)
No. 1 Arctic Glamour

Arctic Glamour brings winning form into this assignment.

The daughter of Jagger Swagger won well two back over a touch shorter at Ballarat, and appeared as though she might be wanting further last start when running on late for third.

Back in class and likely to get forward in the run, she’ll take serious catching.

Horsham: Race 7 (4:57pm)
No. 7 Lyrical Lassy

Lyrical Lassy should be suited by the wide box deep into her prep.

This daughter of Get It Gizmo has been super honest this time in work, winning by half a length three back at Geelong and going on to find the money in her last two starts at Bendigo and The Meadows.

Against a small field with two wins to her name from Box 7, she’ll be hard to run down.

Horsham: Race 9 (5:34pm)
No. 2 Suntory Lisa

Suntory Lisa should land on the bunny and look to dictate up front.

She’s been given a good gap between runs after finishing runner-up over the track and distance earlier in the month, beaten less than half a length.

Box 2 hasn’t been overly kind to her in the past, but she does look to have most of this small field covered in terms of early speed.

Daily Dogs – Sunday, December 1

Sale: Race 2 (6:29pm AEDT)
No. 1 Reckless

Reckless enters this race in search of three wins in a row.

The See The Dream bitch is undefeated over this course and distance having won here two starts back by a massive ten lengths before clocking a best of the night 24.44 seconds when winning last start.

She’s ideally drawn in box 1 and I expect her to get on the arm and go all the way.

Sale: Race 3 (6:50pm AEDT)
No. 5 Hunter Fred

Hunter Fred takes on this course and distance for the first time but comes here in sizzling form.

The son of Aston Dee Bee has won four of his past six starts including a 9.5 length demolition job last start when recording a best of the night 22.27 seconds over 400m at Warragul.

He has excellent early speed so should be able to cross from the squeeze box.

Sale: Race 6 (7:49pm AEDT)
No. 4 Cosmic Reward

Cosmic Reward will appreciate the drop in class after finishing a close third in 29.70 seconds in a heat of the Super Vicgreys Series at Sandown Park last start.

The son of Cosmic Rumble won back-to-back races before that including a six length win over 400m at Warragul where he stopped the clock in a best of the night 22.38 seconds.

He should be able cross from box 4 and lead this field.

Sale: Race 11 (9:31pm AEDT)
No. 3 Dr. United

Dr. United loves racing over this course and distance having won four of his past five starts over it.

The Aston Dee Bee chaser boasts a best of 24.16 seconds but in each of those four wins, he ran in the 24.2 -24.3 second range so he’s ultra-consistent.

He’s well placed in this Free For All and if he begins as well as he has been lately then he can push for an early lead.

Daily Dogs – Melbourne Cup Night Special

Sandown Park: Race 2 (6:58pm AEDT)
No. 8 Shake It Off

Shake It Off has returned to her best form and has won three of her past four races including her two most recent starts at The Meadows.

The daughter of Fernando Bale has won two of three starts over this course and distance with the most recent win coming just four starts ago where she led all the way in 34.41 seconds.

She’s undefeated in two starts when exiting box 8.

Sandown Park: Race 7 (8:47pm AEDT)
No. 2 Excavation

Excavation was stiff not to be competing in the Melbourne Cup Final tonight after not being able to cross from box 8 in his heat but still running a super race for a close second in 29.06 seconds.

The Jason Thompson-trained dog dominated the G1 Top Gun two starts back at The Meadows when winning by 7.5 lengths in 29.52 seconds.

Four starts back he won the G1 Adelaide Cup so there is no doubting he’s in ripping form.

He has the early speed to either lead or settle handy which should make him tough to beat.

Sandown Park: Race 8 (9:07pm AEDT)
No. 2 Canya All Class

Canya All Class is racing in excellent form with eight wins from his past 10 starts.

The son of Shima Shine qualified for the G1 Bold Trease Final with a strong effort where he showed electric speed early to lead before showing fight late to win in the quickest heat time of 41.55 seconds.

Two starts back in the Top Gun Stayers Final he recovered from an uncustomary slow start to motor in the middles stages and win his first G1 title.

He can get on the arm from box 2.

Sandown Park: Race 10 (9:56pm AEDT
No. 6 Explicit

This is a cracking edition of the Melbourne Cup with class drawn in every box!

I’m going with one of Australia’s best chasers, if not the best, in Explicit.

The Jason Thompson-trained son of Bernardo qualified for the final with a slick heat win in 29.05 seconds.

Just three starts ago he broke the mythical 29 second barrier for this course and distance when he won a Melbourne Cup Prelude in 28.97 seconds.

He has the two dogs to his outside covered for early speed so should enjoy a nice cart across from the 6.

Daily Dogs – Friday, November 29

The Meadows: Race 5 (8:27pm AEDT)
No. 2 Paw Vortex

Paw Vortex is racing in sublime form at the moment and is chasing his fourth win in a row.

The son of Bernardo won the Bidgee Cup at Wagga two starts back in a sizzling 29.59 seconds before returning to Victoria last start where he won over this course and distance in 29.96 seconds.

He should enjoy a great run from box 2 tracking Zipping Minaj before producing his powerful finish.

The Meadows: Race 6 (8:49pm AEDT)
No. 1 Lakeview Emily

Lakeview Emily can be forgiven for finishing at the tail in a heat of the Melbourne Cup last start.

The daughter of Fernando Bale’s form before that was top shelf and included a win over this course and distance in slick time.

She flew out of the lids, breaking 5 seconds to the first marker, before chasing strongly to win in 29.66 seconds.

While this is a competitive race, she’s ideally drawn in box 1 and can go all the way.

The Meadows: Race 7 (9:06pm AEDT)
No. 2 Mahogany

Mahogany looks well placed back in class now that he’s back in form.

The son of Handsome Prince was beaten a lip last start over 595m at Sandown in a near best time of the night and was a length second the start prior over this course and distance.

He boasts a personal best of 34.58 seconds which he recorded six starts ago which is considerably quicker than the best of any dog in this race.

The dog to his immediate outside in box 3 likes to run wide so that should open a nice path for him early.

The Meadows: Race 8 (9:30pm AEDT)
No. 2 Groovebird

Groovebird and West Star continue their rivalry with the pair facing off for the fourth time in five starts.

The record stands at 2-1 in Groovebird’s favour and I think she can register another win here.

The Jeff Britton-trained bitch won over this course and distance two starts back before returning last start and producing a powerful all the way win in 34.33 seconds.

She started from this box that night and if she can lead West Star early then she will be hard to run down.

Daily Dogs – Thursday, November 28

Albion Park: Race 1 (7:13pm AEDT)
No. 6 Shaula

Shaula had no luck in her first start for Tom Tzouvelis when slow away and then copping a check when motoring into the first turn at Ipswich.

The daughter of Koblenz won both her starts at Wentworth Park prior to coming to Queensland including the Million Dollar Chase Maiden Final where she clocked a best of the night 29.33 seconds over 520m.

She has the speed to cross and lead from box 6.

Albion Park: Race 4 (8:16pm AEDT)
No. 1 Comedy Act

Comedy Act has been plying his trade at Ipswich and looks ready for a return to headquarters.

The son of Cosmic Chief was last seen registering a best of the night 30.11 seconds over 520m at Ipswich when exiting box 4.

He’s only had the two starts here but did win one of those races in 30.36 seconds.

He should get on the arm from box 1 and prove hard to catch.

Albion Park: Race 8 (9:40pm AEDT)
No. 8 Dalwhinnie

Dalwhinnie looks awfully hard to beat in the Rising Stars Final.

Hailing from New South Wales, the daughter of Aston Dee Bee was low flying at Wentworth Park prior to coming to Queensland.

Three starts back she broke the Wenty 520m track record when scorching the sand in 29.03 seconds, smashing her rivals by 13 lengths.

She was excellent in her first look at this course and distance last start when powering home to win in a best of the night 29.65 seconds.

Albion Park: Race 12 (10:58pm AEDT)
No. 2 Mustang Hayze

Mustang Hayze looks well placed against this field in this heat of The Spark.

The Orson Allen bitch won from box 1 over this course and distance two starts ago in 30.21 seconds.

She has a great record at Albion Park and boasts a sub 30 second best time.

She has the early speed to make full use of box 2.

Daily Dogs – Wednesday, November 27

The Meadows: Race 1 (6:47pm AEDT)
No. 1 Paw Farina

Paw Farina has finished runner-up in each of his three career starts and looks well placed to break through here.

The son of Christo Bale produced his best performance to date last start over 450m at Ballarat where he stormed home to miss the win by a quarter of a length.

The way he ran through the line suggests that he is crying out for this longer trip.

He’s ideally drawn in box 1.

The Meadows: Race 8 (9:13pm AEDT)
No. 2 Wren Bale

Wren Bale looks well placed here dropping back in grade.

The daughter of Christo Bale recorded a personal best over this course and distance last start when finishing a half-length second in 34.43 seconds.

That was her fifth placing from seven starts over the course and distance.

She has wide runners drawn to her immediate outside which should give her a clear path to lead from box 2.

The Meadows: Race 11 (10:18pm AEDT)
No. 5 Uriel Bale

Uriel Bale has been racing in great form with three wins from his past six starts.

Two starts back the son of Barcia Bale began quickly from box 6 to sit handy before finishing off powerfully to win over this course and distance in 29.95 seconds.

Aided by the vacant box to his outside, he has the early speed to hold out Shayna Bale and get on the arm.

If that eventuates then he should prove hard to hold out.

The Meadows: Race 12 (10:37pm AEDT)
No. 4 Whipping It

Whipping It looks awfully hard to beat in the final race at The Meadows following an excellent debut performance here last start.

The son of Zipping Garth demonstrated excellent lid speed to find the front early before braining his rivals by seven lengths in 29.79 seconds.

That was just his second race following a break so he’ll strip fitter.

He should have the speed to get on the arm and go all the way.

Daily Dogs – Sunday, November 24

ALBION PARK: Race 2 (5:42pm)
No. 1 Smooth Panther

Smooth Panther has just had the three starts and looks to have a bright future.

A dominant winner here off the inside box at his second outing, he was game in defeat last time, chasing hard to finish second.

An improving type, he looks hard to beat here with the advantage of the rails draw.

ALBION PARK: Race 6 (7:14pm)
No. 1 Perky Penny

Perky Penny has made it four wins from six starts and looks well placed to add to that tally.

The daughter of Aussie Infrared had no luck at all when shooting for four straight last month but bounced back with commanding win at her latest.

With a clean getaway off the inside, she’ll be hard to beat again.

ALBION PARK: Race 9 (8:12pm)
No. 4 Flaming Scotch

Flaming Scotch produced a solid effort to finish third here when returning off a long break and she’ll be better for the run.

Only lightly raced, having spent plenty of time away from the track, she has recorded three wins and two placings from just her five career starts and is certainly not short of talent.

If she can produce her best tonight, she’ll be too good for them.

ALBION PARK: Race 10 (8:32pm)
No. 6 Brother Jimmy

Brother Jimmy proved superior over the 391m here two starts back but he was never in the hunt last time after striking trouble early.

The Aston Rupee youngster has shown good ability and looks well suited with the slight drop back in trip.

He won well when making his debut over this track and distance last month and with even luck, will be right in this.

Daily Dogs – Saturday, November 23

THE GARDENS: Race 1 (6:27pm)
No. 5 Fascinate Maria

Fascinate Maria kicked off her career with a very encouraging effort over this track and trip.

Jumping away well from box three she copped a couple of bumps throughout but still sprinted home strongly to claim second behind a very smart one.

She will have taken good improvement from the experience and I think she’ll be hard to beat.

THE GARDENS: Race 6 (8:10pm)
No. 8 Screeching

Screeching has been racing well and comes off a very impressive victory over this course and distance.

Despite striking trouble early, he still chased hard and was able to reel in the leader and post a three length margin on the line.

He was strong off a wide run at his prior start and comes here in top order.

THE GARDENS: Race 7 (8:29pm)
No. 8 Frisky Felon

Frisky Felon is in red hot form having won three of his past four starts.

He just found one a bit too slick three runs back but was able to the tables on him at his subsequent outing and proved too good again last time with a 4.2 length victory.

He’s got a great record here over the 400m and from the outside should be able to cross and prove hard to catch.

THE GARDENS: Race 11 (9:39pm)
No. 2 Barramundi Lou

Barramundi Lou has made it three wins from four starts and looks well placed to add to that tally.

The son of Aston Rupee was far too good off the outside draw two runs back and he was even better again last time, shooting straight to the front and powering away to put up five length margin.

He looks very progressive and with a clean getaway, should prove hard to beat.

Daily Dogs – Friday, November 22

IPSWICH: Race 2 (2:21pm)
No. 5 Volatile

Volatile could not have been more impressive when making his debut last week.

From box four, the Fernando Bale youngster jumped away on terms but soon found the front and shot away to score by nearly six lengths on the line.

The time was slick and if he can repeat that performance, he’ll be very hard to beat again.

IPSWICH: Race 4 (2:53pm)
No. 7 Savannah Beach

Savannah Beach is building an enviable record and has yet to miss the frame in six race starts.

She made it back to back wins last month and then produced a solid effort to finish second after striking trouble early.

The daughter of Bernando bounced back in big way last time, powering away to post a 7.5 length margin in 24.82.

She looks to have a bright future and I think she’ll prove too good for them.

IPSWICH: Race 8 (4:17pm)
No. 1 Vienna On Call

Vienna On Call comes here in red hot form and looks well placed to make it three on the bounce.

She proved too slick for them over the 520m here late last month and backed that up with a dominant 5.5 length win over this distance at her latest.

A good beginner, from the inside draw she can continue on her winning way.

IPSWICH: Race 9 (4:37pm)
No. 1 Destini Potenza

Destini Potenza won well here two runs back but just found trouble in the early stages last start at Casino and had too much ground to make up.

The son of Orson Allen has recorded two wins and a placing from his three starts over this track and distance and with the rails draw, he looks a big chance of adding another win to that tally.
