Daily Dogs – Wednesday, July 31

The Meadows: Race 2 (7:08pm)
No. 8 More Wine Please

More Wine Please might have a slight fitness edge in this small field after contesting the 525m trip in her two runs since debuting.

The daughter of Feral Franky ran a distant runner-up here last week from the inside box where she looked to have a bit left to give when crossing.

If she gets across early from out wide this time and leads, she should take catching.

The Meadows: Race 6 (8:28pm)
No.1 Windsor Girl

Windsor Girl is a multiple track and distance winner, her personal best being a time of 34.63 seconds – the fastest in this field.

She was unsuited from the middle box last week when second-last across the line, but did run a nice race a week earlier for third over the same distance.

Box 1 should be much more to her liking and she should be able to get back and stalk the pace early.

The Meadows: Race 8 (9:08pm)
No. 2 Yamanu Bale

This is an easier contest for Yamanu Bale back in grade.

He’s a multiple winner over the 525m trip here at The Meadows and wasn’t far off another last week when third behind Mepunga Ollie.

Draws to do no work early from Box 2 and should be finishing over the top of his rivals.

The Meadows: Race 10 (9:46pm)
No. 2 Irish Lucy

Irish Lucy has early speed to burn and a solid record over this track and trip.

She was a dominant winner here two runs back and is no stranger to winning from Box 2.

Providing she steps well, she’ll be fast into stride and difficult to run down.

Daily Dogs – Tuesday, July 30

Warragul: Race 4 (7:45pm)
No. 8 Bernado’s Baby

Bernado’s Baby can land on the bunny early from out wide and take catching.

It’s been a while since the daughter of Bernado has won a race, but she has been close in recent efforts with two placings next to her name here at Warragul and Sale.

Coming back to compete over 400m with multiple wins to her name from Box 8, she should run a nice race.

Warragul: Race 6 (8:25pm)
No. 4 Mighty Hercules

Mighty Hercules should be at peak fitness now ahead of his third run back.

The son of Bernado has placed in both starts since resuming, running on nicely at Traralgon first-up from an inside draw.

He should pile some pressure on mid-race and be afforded decent running room with a vacant box next door.

Warragul: Race 8 (9:05pm)
No. 5 Calimo

Calimo was a three-length winner over a touch shorter at Sale last week, and there’s nothing to suggest he can’t go on with it.

This boy is no stranger to winning over 460m, his best track/distance time coming in a slick 25.72 seconds.

He’s got enormous late speed and should be turning up the pressure out of the bend.

Warragul: Race 10 (9:44pm)
No. 7 Barretos

Barretos should be fast into stride once lids fly as he looks to build on last week’s runner-up effort.

Still only lightly-raced, his maiden win here three back was full of merit, and he should look to make full use of his early speed to get across from wider out.

Daily Dogs – Sunday, July 28

Sale: Race 3 (5:47pm)
No. 7 Cuff Model

Cuff Model would probably prefer to be drawn closer, but there was a lot to like about his return effort just under a fortnight ago over the same trip.

The son of Barcia Bale was beaten 1.5 lengths third by Snowfest, a race he should improve on with fitness on his side now.

He’s likely to settle in the back half of the field, and providing he steps well, look for him to run on strongly out of the turn.

Sale: Race 5 (6:22pm)
No. 5 Peg

Peg is close to another win based on recent attempts.

The daughter of Bernado has placed in her last two starts at Traralgon and here at Sale, suggesting another crack at the 510m trip should be appropriate from the middle box.

She’s no stranger to winning over this distance and is another one armed with tremendous late speed.

Sale: Race 8 (7:30pm)
No. 4 Need You Know

Need You Now is a multiple track and distance winner, his best coming in a slick time of 24.27 seconds.

He was an impressive winner here two runs back by 2.6 lengths from out wide, and is drawn to receive every chance with a vacant box next door.

Sale: Race 11 (8:31pm)
No. 4 Where’s Fifty

Where’s Fifty looks suited back in distance now after finishing 10 lengths off at Sandown over further last week.

Four of his five wins have come over this trip, his best at this venue coming in a nice time of 24.63 seconds.

Looks a nice bet to get back early and finish strongly.

Daily Dogs – Saturday, July 27

The Meadows: Race 2 (7:14pm)
No. 6 Canya Jive

Canya Jive should land on the bunny soon after box rise and take catching.

The lightly-raced juvenile was the beaten favourite last week over the same distance where he was afforded little running room in the finish.

He should see some favours early this time with a vacant box next door, and based on his maiden win on debut, we know what sort of talent he possesses.

The Meadows: Race 4 (7:49pm)
No. 8 Deadly Avenger

Deadly Avenger should get back early from out wide and do his best work late.

The son of Tommy Shelby is attempting 525m for the first time, but he does look suited from Box 8 with two wins next to his name.

His effort last week at Warrnambool suggested he’s looking for longer and it’s no surprise to find him at short odds in a thin race.

The Meadows: Race 7 (8:55pm)
No. 5 Lassard

Lassard is a multiple track and distance winner racing with real confidence.

His win last week at Sandown was impressive over slightly shorter, bolting in late from the inside box to score by two lengths.

He’s featured in the money twice from Box 5 and is likely to pile on the pressure mid-race.

The Meadows: Race 10 (9:57pm)
No. 2 Tammy IcIvor

Tammy IcIvor should be fast into stride in a race that packs serious early speed.

The daughter of Feral Franky owns a speedy 29.95 second time over this track and distance, far and away the fastest in this field.

Another inside box suits and there’s no knock on her recent form that reads one win and two placings from her last three attempts.

Daily Dogs – Friday, July 26

Bendigo: Race 2 (7:28pm)
No. 6 Here Hugo

Here Hugo has made the journey to Bendigo with four wins from seven starts to his name.

There’s enormous early speed engaged in this race, which he should relish after making every post a winner last week over shorter at Ballarat.

Bendigo: Race 4 (8:10pm)
No. 5 On The Beer

On The Beer recorded a handy track and distance win here last week ina. Slick time of 23.73 seconds.

This is another contest with tremendous early speed, and he should be one of the fastest into stride once lids fly.

Bendigo: Race 6 (8:52pm)
No. 2 Asperitas

Asperitas can improve on last week’s runner-up effort over 450m at Warrnambool.

The daugher of Barcia Bale is a five-time winner over 500m, her best coming in 28.11 seconds here at Bendigo.

She’ll feature prominently on speed in the early stages and take serious catching in the run home.

Bendigo: Race 8 (9:34pm)
No. 8 Drill Sargeant

Drill Sargeant is a Group 1 winner with a serious class edge over most of these.

He was runner-up last week when beaten a length at The Meadows in the Group 3 Fireball, and is likely to find this much easier back in grade.

Draws wide and has had no problem winning from Box 8 in the past.

Daily Dogs – Thursday, July 25

Shepparton: Race 3 (11:30am)
No. 8 Clara Stella

Clara Stella can push forward early from out wide and make her own luck on the speed.

She won from an identical draw by a clear margin here three runs back and followed that up with another handy victory a week later.

Appears well-rated in this field and should prove tough to catch.

Shepparton: Race 5 (12:09pm)
No. 2 Hellboy

Hellboy is armed with serious early speed, as we saw last week when he went forward at Bendigo to win by over two lengths.

He’s mixed his form here at Shepparton in the past but it’s hard to argue with the fact he’s featured in the money in his last three starts.

Shepparton: Race 7 (12:44pm)
No. 2 Mr Ferguson

Mr Ferguson is better suited out to 450m after fading late to finish two lengths off last week over shorter.

His lone win came over this trip at Bendigo earlier in May and he lost no admirers when second here a couple of starts later.

Looks likely to settle handy to the speed and save his best for the finish.

Shepparton: Race 9 (1:27pm)
No. 2 Beryl’s Pride

Beryl’s Pride has been competing in tougher contests since resuming at Horsham late last month.

He was last home over 450m a couple of weeks ago here at Shepparton, a performance that suggested he might be wanting something easier.

Back over shorter and drawn an inside box, this looks the right race for him to atone.

Daily Dogs – Wednesday, July 24

The Meadows: Race 3 (7:28pm)
No. 4 Aston Michigan

Aston Michigan can settle back early in the run and really pile on the pressure out of the final bend.

The experienced three-year-old has mixed his form over the track and distance, but his personal best time of 30.22 seconds is the quickest in this small field.

After stepping up sharply to 525m last week, he should be afforded plenty of running room with a vacant box next door.

The Meadows: Race 5 (8:08pm)
No. 3 Alpha Zulu

Alpha Zulu should find this a much easier contest after competing in a couple of free-for-all races recently.

The son of Orson Allen has placed in only two of his three starts this campaign, but he does appear better suited back out to 525m from a much kinder box.

Looks likely to settle handy to the speed and at his best, he should prove tough to hold out.

The Meadows: Race 7 (8:48pm)
No. 5 Windsor Girl

Windsor Girl is a talented stayer with enough runs on the board here at The Meadows to suggest she’ll be competitive.

The Allen Deed two-year-old is a multiple winner over the track and distance and she should be strong in the run home from the middle box.

The Meadows: Race 10 (9:49pm)
No. 7 Dutch Impact

Dutch Impact is always suited from wider out with multiple wins to his name from Box 7.

His recent form reads just as well for this, having placed in four of his last five starts.

In a race lacking early speed, he should settle just off the pace and look to save something for the finish.

Daily Dogs – Tuesday, July 23

Gosford: Race 2 (7:18pm)
No. 3 Gambino

Gambino should only run well based on his efforts since resuming last month.

The smart son of Catch The Thief has featured in the money in all six starts he’s contested, rewarded with another win here last week where he led for most of the way to win by two lengths.

There’s good early speed on paper looking at this contest, but he should prove one of the toughest to catch from an inside draw.

Gosford: Race 5 (8:18pm)
No. 7 Fernando Vella

Fernando Vella can make his presence felt from out wide if he gets a nice cart across mid-race.

His track and distance win last week came in a slick time of 29.40 seconds, the fastest of any runner in this field.

Proven from wide alleys and in sparkling form of late, he rates as one of the main contenders.

Gosford: Race 7 (8:58pm)
No. 7 Power And Glory

Power And Glory is a two-year-old worth keeping an eye on.

The son of Hooked On Scotch hasn’t missed the money in the eight starts he’s contested so far, returning in impressive style a week ago at Wentworth Park for a casual seven-length win.

This is his first look at Gosford, but with the wide gate suiting and tremendous early speed under the hood, he’s likely to make every post a winner again.

Gosford: Race 11 (10:26pm)
No. 2 Mr Taylor

Mr Taylor is much better suited over these shorter distances.

His recent form has been mixed, but it’s worth nothing he was stepping back sharply to 350m a couple of weeks ago when running last at Goulburn.

Three of his five career wins have come over this journey and he’s drawn to get right back in the run from Box 2.

Daily Dogs – Monday, July 22

Sandown: Race 6 (8:31pm)
No. 1 Billy Intention

Billy Intention has come up trumps with the inside box at his disposal.

The son of Aussie Infrared has mixed his form here at Sandown but has to be taken seriously with a win and three placings to his name over his last four starts.

The slight step back in trip suits and he’ll likely prove very hard to hold out.

Sandown: Race 8 (9:11pm)
No. 6 Fled The Scene

Fled The Scene is turning into somewhat of a Sandown expert after notching a third win here last week.

The son of Fernando Bale launched late to score by 1.5 lengths and has drawn an identical box for another repeat effort coming off the speed.

His best track/distance time of 34.13 seconds stands out in this field and it’s no surprise to find a short price on offer.

Sandown: Race 10 (9:55pm)
No. 6 Irinka Ashley

Irinka Ashley is an intriguing two-year-old resuming for Marlene Schmidt.

The son of Feral Franky was an impressive seven-length winner on debut at Temora back in May and has now made the journey to Victoria to take on tougher races.

Where he winds up from out wide is the query but his best is certainly good enough.

Sandown: Race 12 (10:30pm)
No. 6 Eco Bale

Eco Bale is armed with late speed and he shouldn’t be short on confidence after drawing 2.5 lengths clear to win here last week.

He’s still got big room for improvement this boy and has typically done his best racing from wider alleys in the past.

With a vacant box next door, he should be afforded plenty of running room in the late stages.

Daily Dogs – Sunday 21st July

Richmond: Race 3 (5:11pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win Market Mover

No. 3 Roma's Blue

J: (kg) T: Edward Foyle

Rema’s Blue will look to make it three on the bounce.

She does take a few strides to get into into but has been very strong late and was super impressive scoring down the straight here last time.

If she can jump away clean from the squeeze box, she should be too good for them.

Richmond: Race 10 (7:37pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 5 Trunkey Chief

J: (kg) T: Anthony Godden

Trunkey Chief put together four successive wins before taking on a couple of very tough assignments.

He’s yet to race here but will find this easier and he holds very good stats from box 5.

Richmond: Race 11 (7:53pm)

Race Starts in: Race Finished

Win

No. 8 Zipping Darla

J: (kg) T: Jason Magri

Zipping Darla has just had the two race starts and looks talented.

The daughter of Aston Rupee proved too good on debut posting a five length victory here when clearing them easily from the outside box.

Last time, she just found one better on the night but still put up a big margin back to third.

Box 8 should see her bounce straight to the front and she’ll be hard to catch.
