Healesville: Race 7 (2:19pm AEDT)
No. 2 Rosta Power

Rosta Power has been a strong and consistent performer this time and strikes another winnable one at Healesville this afternoon. The daughter of Magic Sprite was an impressive winner two starts back and produced another eye-catching effort to charge home late for second at this track and distance last time. She clearly relishes the straight and looks the one to beat again.

Healesville: Race 9 (2:59pm AEDT)
No. 1 Brave Innings

Brave Innings’ two most-recent efforts have been excellent, and she is over the odds to win down the Healesville straight today ($8 at publish). The three-year-old did take a few to get going when resuming in December, but her last two starts suggest that she is ready to return to winning form and will enjoy what does look a step back in class this afternoon.

Albion Park: Race 3 (8:03pm AEDT)
No. 4 Naveed

Naveed has only made three appearances at the races so far but has more than stamped herself as a dog to follow and can fight out the finish of the third at Albion Park tonight at a nice price ($9 at publish). The daughter of Fernando Bale ran home well to finish third at Ipswich on debut and has only continued to improve with racing; comfortably winning her last two. This is another step up in class, but she still has plenty of upside and has the runs on the board.

Albion Park: Race 5 (8:43pm AEDT)
No. 4 Shadow Court

Shadow Court was an impressive winner last time out and will be tough to beat again tonight. The two-year-old hasn’t finished outside the places in her six most-recent starts and proved her class again at this track and distance last time out, having led all the way from a central box. If she steps favourably again tonight, she’ll take a power of beating.

Capalaba: Race 4 (11:55am AEDT)
No. 2 Two More Models

Two More Models has been racing well recently and strikes another winnable one at Capalaba today, at a nice price. The son of Crash flew home to score at Casino two starts back before a credible performance in tougher company at Albion Park last time out. Capalaba: Race 12 (3:30pm AEDT)
No. 1 Tubby Turner

Tubby Turner was checked early at Ipswich last time out and was unable to recover, but he has otherwise been a strong and consistent performer and will be tough to beat in the last at Capalaba. The son of Fabregas won a 431m sprint at Ipswich three starts back, but his win under the same conditions two back was particularly dominant and a repeat of that effort would see him winning this.

Albion Park: Race 7 (8:04pm AEDT)
No. 5 Rapid Blaze

Rapid Blaze has been excellent this time and will be tough to beat in Brisbane tonight. The three-year-old has been finishing off her races well and flew home from the tail of the field to finish a close second at this track and distance last week, having scored an easy win under the conditions three back. She’s rock hard fit and bad luck looks the only real danger.

Daily Dogs – Saturday, February 23

Wentworth Park: Race 2 (7:28pm AEDT)
No. 8 Cosmic Blend

The scratching of Fantastic Yankee has made this look like a one-dog race. Cosmic Blend has been racing well this time and was an impressive winner at this track and distance two starts back before producing another credible performance in a tougher race to finish third. He’ll relish a return to these conditions and his form from out wide is outstanding. He has speed to burn and with even luck, should prove too good.

Wentworth Park: Race 6 (8:48pm AEDT)
No. 1 Flowing

Simply put, Flowing has been airborne this time and looks well placed to win again at Wentworth Park tonight. The daughter of Fabregas has won each of her four most-recent starts, each more dominant than the last and she should only improve into this race. You can take even money at publish, but I’m not sure that quote will last.

Winsome Stride turned in a rare lacklustre run last time out but has been a strong and consistent performer otherwise and is good enough to fight out the finish in this company. The two-year-old son of Fernando Bale has been finishing off his races extremely well and as long as he doesn’t run into trouble from his wide draw tonight, he’s over the odds in the market.

Daily Dogs – Friday, February 22

Healesville: Race 1 (11:56am AEDT)
No. 5 Muza's Angel

Muza’s Angel has been racing well without winning but looks beautifully placed to break her maiden at Healesville this afternoon. The daughter of Moreira has continued to improve as she’s learned her craft and attacked the line at Warragul to finish second two starts back, before another credible performances at Cranbourne. Richmond: Race 3 (7:57pm AEDT)
No. 3 Simply Shadow

Simply Shadow was checked here at Richmond last time and was unable to recover, but his form prior was outstanding, and he can atone in the third tonight. The son of Spring Gun jogged home to win at this track and distance three starts back, but his follow-up effort under the same conditions was utterly dominant and a repeat of that effort would see him winning again.

each way

No. 7 Dealer Wins

Dealer Wins is another dog that is amidst a strong and consistent campaign and will take a power of beating again tonight. With even luck, he’ll be fighting out the finish again tonight.

Daily Dogs – Wednesday, February 20

Albion Park: Race 2 (4:08pm AEDT)
No. 3 Mixed Spice

Mixed Spice got too far back last time out, but her inside draw tonight should be beneficial and she looms as a live chance again. The daughter of Dyna Villa produced a huge performance to win at the track and distance two runs back and her overall form from inside boxes is excellent. She just needs a bit of luck in transit to be in the finish once more.

Albion Park: Race 4 (4:57pm AEDT)
No. 1 Shield Me

Shield Me has been in fantastic order this time and strikes another very winnable one at Albion Park this afternoon. His dominant win at Ipswich three starts back was followed up with a rare lacklustre showing at this track and distance, but he responded with another easy win here last time out and is rock-hard fit for this assignment. Shield Me will make all his own luck from Box 1 and looks tough to beat.

best bet
Ballarat: Race 6 (8:40pm AEDT)
No. 8 Speed Star

Speed Star has been just that for Anakie-based trainer Andrea Dailly and will be extremely tough to beat in the sixth at Ballarat tonight. Thirteen wins and twelve minors from only thirty starts is how the ledger reads for the talented son of Fernando Bale so far and his form this time has been typically outstanding. A repeat of that effort would find him very hard to beat again.

No. 5 Lady Cynthia

Lady Cynthia has been airborne this time and will take a power of beating again in the fifth at Gosford tonight. The one-year-old has won each of her last seven starts and has strung together an impressive career record of ten wins and two minors from only sixteen starts. Gosford: Race 8 (9:22pm AEDT)
No. 3 Volt To Excel

Volt To Excel has produced several well rated performances this time and can return to winning form in the eighth at Gosford tonight. The three-year-old returned from a spell in excellent condition in December and easily won a 400m dash at Richmond, before another decent run to finish third over the same distance, but in tougher company. I like that her runs have been spaced and this looks another very winnable race.

Flying Double will carry winning form into the fourth at Gawler this afternoon and looks the one to beat again. No. 8 Crackerjack Jase

Crackerjack Jase was an impressive last-start winner and looks well placed to make it two-in-a-row at Geelong tonight. The two-year-old has recorded two wins and six minors through his ten starts since debuting in November and came on strongly to finish over his rivals over 450m at Ballarat last time out. He’s really starting to tune his craft and with even luck from the wide box, will be hard to hold out.

Daily Dogs – Thursday, February 14

Sandown Park: Race 4 (8:07pm AEDT)
No. 1 Soda Flash

Soda Flash is the class runner in the fourth at Sandown Park tonight and is drawn to receive all the favours from Box 1. The talented son of Kinloch Brae was a dominant winner at The Meadows three runs back, but his two most-recent efforts have been luckless, and he takes a pretty noticeable step back in class into this field. He’ll make all his own luck on pace and will be extremely difficult to run down.

each way
Sandown Park: Race 9 (9:49pm AEDT)
No. 7 Splinter

Splinter is a dog with plenty of ability and with a clear passage from box 7 tonight, can fight out the finish of the ninth at Sandown Park at a nice price. Splinter was bumped early and was unable to recover over 600m at The Meadows two runs back, but he responded with an impressive performance and win over 545m at Ballarat last time out and a repeat of that performance would see him hard to beat again.

Sandown Park: Race 10 (10:08pm AEDT)
No. 3 Diego Fernando

Diego Fernando will need to be at his best to beat this handy field but looks to have been building towards something and has the ability to win at Sandown Park tonight. Sandown Park: Race 12 (10:52pm AEDT)
No. 3 Blistering

Blistering will take winning form into his appearance at Sandown Park tonight and looks well placed to take out the last. The son of Black Magic Opal worked home well to finish second two and three starts back before recording an impressive and comfortable win over 520m at Sale last time out. If he steps well, he should prove too good for the rest of this field.

Laile Brobio flew home to finish a close-up second at this track and distance last time out and looms as a big threat again tonight, at odds. The three-year-old won her first start for Brooke Berry last month and has continued to race well, despite running into interference on several occasions. An inside box is ideal tonight and with even luck, she can be right in the finish.
