Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka (7:30pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka lock horns at the Cricket World Cup on Monday night.

I’ve been very disappointed by Bangladesh at this Cricket World Cup, and after winning their tournament opener, they’ve lost six in a row. They won’t make the finals, and they’ll start outsiders in this clash.

Sri Lanka are still a mathematical chance of winning into the Cricket World Cup Finals, but they need to win each of their three remaining matches and hope that many other results also fall their way. I think they’ll win this, but the finals are genuinely a bridge too far.

Suggested Bets

  • Sri Lanka to Win ($1.48)
  • Maheesh Theekshana 2+ Wickets ($2)

Saturday, November 4th

New Zealand vs Pakistan (4pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

After an excellent start, the Kiwis are in freefall, and they’ll be eager to get their World Cup campaign back on track at the expense of Pakistan on Saturday afternoon.

Four wins from as many starts at the Cricket World Cup had New Zealand airborne, but they’ve since lost each of their last three games to sit fourth, and in danger of being leapfrogged by Pakistan.

Pakistan themselves broke a four-game losing streak with a seven-wicket win over Bangladesh at their latest appearance, and they’ll take some confidence and momentum into this one, as a result.

A win will be enormous for the chances of both nations fighting into the finals, but I think that New Zealand will just have the edge, and I think that Trent Boult will cause plenty of headaches for the Pakistan batting corps.

Suggested Bets

  • New Zealand to Win ($1.80)
  • Trent Boult Over 2.5 Wickets ($3.25)
England vs Australia (7:30pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

Australia can turn England’s fortunes from really bad into absolutely dire (if they’re not already) by beating the old enemy in India on Saturday night.

England have recorded just one win from six matches at this Cricket World Cup, losing to the likes of Afghanistan and Sri Lanka to boot.

Australia lost their first two games, but they’ve since been faultless, winning four in a row to climb into third.

The Aussies will be without Glenn Maxwell and Mitch Marsh for this clash, but their depth is certainly good enough to plug those holes, and the English really aren’t playing with any confidence at all.

Suggested Bets

  • Australia to Win ($1.62)
  • David Warner to score 50+ Runs ($2.38)
  • Travis Head Over 32.5 Runs ($1.83)

Netherlands vs Afghanistan (7:30pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

I simply cannot wait for this match, and I certainly did not expect that to be the case at the beginning of this Cricket World Cup.

Both the Netherlands and Afghanistan have well and truly justified their inclusion in India, and both nations have recorded multiple, memorable wins to sit on the edge of the Top 4.

The Dutch are still the only nation to beat South Africa at this tournament, and following a couple of losses, they return to winning form at the expense of Bangladesh on the weekend. Bas de Leede might be the best player to ever pull on a Netherlands jersey, and I’m backing him for another bag of wickets on Friday.

Afghanistan, meanwhile, have continued to improve as the tournament has progressed, and they have won their last four matches, including two in succession leading up to this clash.

Afghanistan do deserve their favouritism, but I don’t have as much between these two nations as the bookies do, so I am once again going to take the value on offer for the Netherlands to win, along with a couple of other player picks.

Suggested Bets

  • Netherlands to Win ($3.50)
  • Bas de Leede Over 2.5 Wickets ($5.50)
  • Rashid Khan Over 2.5 Wicket ($3.75)
  • Hashmatullah Shahidi Over 24.5 Runs ($1.83)

India vs Sri Lanka (7:30pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

Old subcontinent foes India and Sri Lanka face off at the Cricket World Cup on Thursday night, but unsurprisingly, the former have opened firm favourites in betting.

India are the only nation that remains undefeated at this Cricket World Cup, recording six wins from as many matches and truly stamping their dominance at home. They enter this match following an easy win over England.

Sri Lanka meanwhile have won two of their six matches, and another loss would be pretty damning to their chances of finishing in the Top 4.

I’m expecting India to dominate this one, and I’m looking for the value in players markets once more.

Suggested Bets

  • Rohit Sharma Over 39.5 Runs ($1.83)
  • Mohammed Shami Over 2.5 Wickets ($3.25)

Wednesday, November 1st

New Zealand vs South Africa (7:30pm AEDT)
New Zealand to Win ($2.20)

One of the better matches at the 2023 Cricket World Cup could materialise between New Zealand and South Africa on Wednesday night. Both nations have been very good in India, and neither would look out of place in the final.

After winning their first four, the Kiwis have actually lost two in succession leading into this clash, but they weren’t disgraced in either. The flip of a coin could have decided their most recent one against Australia.

Barring that shock loss to the Netherlands, South Africa have otherwise been faultless, and they’ve won three in a row leading up to this.

I have virtually nothing separating these two sides, and given they’ll be particularly eager to snap this losing streak, I’m happy to have something on New Zealand to win as outsiders.

Tuesday, October 31st

Pakistan vs Bangladesh (7:30pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

Pakistan and Bangladesh are both desperate for a win, and each nation will be confident in their chances on Tuesday night.

Pakistan began their tournament in fine form, winning each of their first two, but they’ve since lost four in succession to slump to seventh overall, and in real danger of losing touch with the Top 4 completely.

Bangladesh have also been disappointing at the Cricket World Cup, and another loss would all but end their chances of the finals.

Suggested Bets

  • Babar Azam Over 39.5 Runs ($1.83)
  • Shakib Al Hasan Top Bangladesh Wicket Taker ($4)

Monday, October 30th

Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka (7:30pm AEDT)
Afghanistan to Win ($2.38)

The finals hopes of one of these nations will be well and truly alive after Afghanistan and Sri Lanka go head-to-head at the Cricket World Cup on Monday night.

They’d lost ten matches in a row (across several World Cups) prior to beating England back on October 15th, but they performance has well and truly kicked them into gear, and they were also too good for Pakistan at their latest appearance.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, really do look to the best ‘best of the rest’ behind India, in terms of the subcontinent nations at this Cricket World Cup, and they also proved too strong for England on Thursday night to ultimately climb up into fifth on the table.

I don’t have as much between these two nations head-to-head as the bookies seem to, and I therefore think that the value lies in backing Afghanistan to win as outsiders.

Sunday, October 29th

India vs England (7:30pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

Well, this one profiles as an absolute bloodbath, and I thought that India were massive overs in match betting ($1.44 at publish).

The host nation remains undefeated at the Cricket World Cup, and up until the knockout stage of the tournament, it’s tough to know who (if anyone) has the means to knock them off.

England, meanwhile, have been nothing short of terrible, winning one of five matches, and slumping to another heavy loss to Sri Lanka at their latest.

All of that points to one obviously outcome on Sunday, in my opinion.

Suggested Bets

  • India to Win ($1.40)
  • Jasprit Bumrah India Top Wicket Taker ($4)

Saturday, October 28th

Australia vs New Zealand (4pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

Here’s one that we’ve all been waiting for!

The Aussies look to continue their resurgence at the Cricket World Cup this afternoon when they take on old foes, New Zealand.

The poor start is long forgotten, and Australia are now firmly entrenched in the Top 4 following an absolute demolition job of The Netherlands.

New Zealand meanwhile flew the blocks, but they do step out on Saturday following their first loss of the tournament at the hands of host nation India.

Australia well and truly has the edge over New Zealand at Cricket World Cups, and I’m expecting another victory here.

Suggested Bets

  • Australia to Win ($1.62)
  • Glenn Maxwell Over 27.5 Runs ($1.83)
Netherlands vs Bangladesh (7:30pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

Very interesting indeed!

It has been a Cricket World Cup of enormous emotions each way for the Netherlands, who pulled off an incredible win over South Africa most notably, but who have also since slumped to the biggest ever loss at a Cricket World Cup at the hands of Australia.

This is definitely the best side that the Netherlands have ever fielded, but they need to be at their best to trouble any of these other nations in India.

Bangladesh have disappointed me a little at the Cricket World Cup – I thought that they’d have won more than one match by this point, but four losses has them languishing right down near the bottom of the ladder.

We’ve had some success backing outsiders in matches that profile similarly to this one, so I am going to do it again!

Suggested Bets

  • Netherlands to Win ($3)
  • Bas de Leede Netherlands Top Wicket Taker ($4.50)

Friday, October 27th

Pakistan vs South Africa (7:30pm AEDT)
de Kock Over 34.5 Runs ($1.83) & SA Top Runscorer ($4)

An interesting match will see Pakistan take on South Africa, and nothing short of a win for the former will be required to keep alive their finals hopes.

Pakistan began the World Cup in the best way possible, recording two wins from as many starts, but they’ve since lost three in a row to fall out of the Top 4, and with scope to continue plummeting. Monday’s loss to Afghanistan was particularly poor when considering that nation is now breathing down their neck on the ladder.

South Africa have lost just one match at the Cricket World Cup, and it was to The Netherlands. Yep, you read that correctly. Obviously, the performance was just too bad to be true, and they’ve atoned with easy wins over England and Bangladesh.

While Pakistan will be desperate, South Africa looks to have found their stride, and they can win again. Quinton de Kock is in fine touch, and he’s where I’m looking for a little value.
