Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers
Suggested Bets Below

For the 8th time in BBL history, the Melbourne Renegade will play host to the Adelaide Strikers at Marvel Stadium.

Although the Gades haven’t been in great form, their last game showed that they’re still a decent side and they’re just getting outplayed.

As much as I’m not a fan of Shaun Marsh, I must give credit where it’s due, he played unbelievably well for his first game back after an injury setback.

Marsh is someone, who at 40 years old, played like a patient batsman in his late 20s, picking the gaps left, right and centre.

Not to mention having an average of 59 with the bat to open your account is something you’d take every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

The Strikers have been playing good cricket; however, they’ve been outclassed by their opponents on every level.

Another veteran who’s staying composed in the top order is the all-time leading run scorer, Chris Lynn.

It’s no secret that Lynny’s had setbacks in his career with injury, however, he averages 25.5 with the stick along with a strike rate of 149.6, Lynn is ready to turn up the heat tonight.

How do I see this match playing out for the bowlers?

Cameron Boyce is a bowler I always enjoy watching, from First-grade cricket at Valley District Cricket Club, to his stints with Queensland and Tassie, he’s been a great edition for the Big Bash.

Boycey has an excellent economy rate in the BBL for a spinner with 7.53 and not to mention 95 wickets in 88 games, he’s a player who will guide the Strikers tonight.

Another bowler who I’ll be having a dabble on tonight is Tom Rogers.

Tom is yet another player who’s been a journeyman around the BBL from the Hurricanes to the Stars and now to the Renegades, he’s ready to star for the Gades this season.

My play on tonight game is below.

Same Game Multi

  • Renegades to win
  • Lynn 20+
  • Marsh 20+
  • Rogers 1+ Wicket
  • Boyce 1+ Wicket

Hobart Hurricanes Vs Melbourne Stars
Suggested Bets Below

The Hobart Hurricanes are back at home to take on the Melbourne Stars in what will be a thrilling match.

Although the Stars have just come off their first win of the season, I like their chances tonight and here are the numbers behind it.

The numbers suggested that it’s dead even in head-to-head matchups at Blundstone Arena with eight games played and both sides winning four each.

However, the Stars have a 12-7 record against the Canes, and I’ll be taking them to win.

Looking at the numbers for the batsmen, I like the look of Beau Webster and Matthew Wade.

Beau Webster has shown some form in his last two games, scoring 59 and 35 with the bat and snagging a 4-Fa against the thunder on the 23rd if you don’t mind.

Webster averages 32.6 this season and I expect him to play well with the bat on junior cricket boundaries.

Matthew Wade is looking to lead by example tonight with the hopes of guiding his team to a win in front of his home fans.

The veteran hits more sixes than I’ve had hot dinners and with an average of 46.5 this season, he’s ready to entertain the crowd.

Usmana Mir and Paddy Dooley have been the star bowlers for their respective sides and the value play is there for both of them to take 1+ wicket on such a small ground.

Here’s my suggested play for tonight’s fixture!

Same Game Multi

  • Melbourne Stars to Win
  • Usmana Mir 1+ Wicket
  • Dooley 1+ Wicket
  • Wade 20+ Runs
  • Webster 20+ Runs

Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Thunder
Suggested Bets Below

The City of Brisbane lights up once again as the Brisbane Heat take on the Sydney Thunder, and this game has piqued my interest.

There is some rain expected around Woolloongabba tonight, hopefully, the weatherman is wrong because I’m looking at the stats for this game and here’s what I’ve found.

The Brisbane Heat are still unbeaten this season and have a 12-7 Head-to-Head record against the Thunder, and I don’t see that changing tonight.

Josh Brown has been seeing the Kookaburra like a beach ball and there’s nothing better then seeing the 29-year-old hit the shiny new kookie off the pads for six into the third tier.

Spencer Johnson has been class with the ball in hand this season.

The newest IPL millionaire has experienced the t20 circuit around the world and it’s clear to see he’s been taking notes.

Although Johnson has only snagged 2 wickets in the competition so far, this is the perfect time to get a couple in the bag before we reach the halfway point of the competition.

Zaman Khan has been the star international player that the Sydney Thunder have been looking for.

The 22-year-old is currently joint second for most wickets this season with 6 scalps and I think he’ll be the star tonight for the 5th-place Thunder.

Ollie Davies is the young rising star the Thunder need for the future, however, Davies has developed into one of the most important players in the team.

At the time of writing, Davies is currently 8th on most runs in the season and he’s the second leading run scorer for the Thunder.

Below, is my suggested Same Game Multi:

  • Heat to win.
  • Johnson 1+ Wicket
  • Brown 20+ Runs
  • Davies 20+ Runs
  • Khan 1+ Wicket

Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Stars (6:05pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

After day 1 at the ‘G’, we now go to the Sydney Cricket Ground where the Sydney Sixers will take on the Melbourne Stars.

The Stars have the team on paper with the potential to go to the finals but at this point, their form has been dismal.

With a 13-7 Head-to-Head record, I’ll be taking the Sydney Sixers to take this game out.

Stars skipper Glenn Maxwell has had better form on the player mic than he has with the bat, and Maxi has a lot to prove to Stars fans.

The Big Show is the leading run scorer in the Sixers vs Sixers rivalry with 676 runs with a strike rate of 157.94 and an average of 48.29.

For the Sixers, Josh Phillipe’s form has been up and down and he’s ready to star for Sydney tonight!

Phillipe has scored 334 runs against the Stars at a strike rate of 141.53 with an average of 30.36.

Slower bowlers will play a pivotal role in what’s historically known as a typical turning wicket.

Liam Dawson has been a handy spinner for the Stars this season, finishing with 1/35 while opening the bowling – and I think he’ll love bowling at the SCG.

Stephen O’Keefe is a fan favourite and a big fan of the SCG!

The left-arm orthodox bowler has 37 wickets in the month of December and 40 wickets at the SCG with an economy rate of 6.59.

Here is my suggested bet for tonight’s matchup:

Same Game Multi:

  • Sixers to win
  • Glenn Maxwell 20+ Runs
  • Josh Phillipe 20+ Runs
  • Liam Dawson 1+ Wicket
  • Stephen O’Keefe 1+ Wicket
Hobart Hurricanes Vs Melbourne Renegades (9:15pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

The In-form Perth Scorchers is set to play host to the Melbourne Renegades at Optus Stadium in Perth.

Over the course of the 18 games they’ve played against each other, the Perth Scorchers have secured 15 wins and the bookies have certainly acknowledged that – with the price they’re currently sitting at.

Kane Richardson and Jason Behrendorff are the top wicket takers for their respective sides in this matchup and I’ll take the value of them for 2+ wickets.

From the batting side, I was looking at the form and Jake Fraser-McGurk seems like an obvious pick; however, I’ll be taking former Australian limited-overs captain Aaron Finch is a solid value play.

Finchy has scored the most runs for the rivalry with 481 with a strike rate of 139.42 and an average of 30.06.

For the Scorchers, I’ve had my eyes on Aaron Hardie, who’s been killing it since opening the batting for the reigning premiers.

Hardie has scored 125 runs in his three innings including two not outs including an 85 in his last innings.

My suggested bets are below.

Same Game Multi

  • Scorchers to win
  • Aaron Hardie 20+ Runs
  • Jason Behrendorff 2+ Wickets
  • Kane Richardson 2+ Wickets
  • Aaron Finch 20+ Runs

Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Thunder (3:30 AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

The most wonderful time of the year kicks off this Saturday afternoon with the Melbourne Stars taking on the Sydney Thunder at the Lavington Sports Ground in Albury.

To be perfectly candid, this isn’t a game I’m particularly looking forward to – This time 10 years ago, I would’ve.

However, someone’s “O” has got to go, and I think it’ll be the Melbourne Stars.

From a Head-to-head standpoint, they’re as even as you can get, with Melbourne up 10 games to 9.

The Incredible Stoin has scored 411 runs against the Thunder and he’s due to a big score since his 2 below par performances this season.

Another player who I like is Alex Hales. He’s scored 205 runs for the Thunder against the Stars and like Stoinis, he’s due for a good performance.

The bowler that I’ve had a close look at is Chris Green.

The Sydney Thunder skipper has been in great T20 form all over the world and he’s ready to kick down the door with the hopes of making the Australian side once again.

Harris Rauf is always the fan favourite in the Melbourne Stars colours and he’s my favourite to watch with the white Kookaburra in hand.

My suggested bets are:

Same Game Multi:

  • Stars to Win
  • Stoin 20+ Runs
  • Hales 20+ Runs
  • Green 1+ Wicket
  • Rauf 1+ Wicket
Hobart Hurricanes Vs Melbourne Renegades (7:15pm AEDT)
Suggested Bets Below

To wrap up a top-notch Saturday of Cricket, we’re taking ourselves to Hobart, where the Hobart Hurricanes set to square off against the Melbourne Renegades.

I’ve analysed the market and research the history between the two and here’s what I’ve found.

The Hobart Hurricanes are 30-22 in December games and with home town advantage, that gives enough reasons to take them tonight!

Ben McDermott has been the top runscorer between the two teams with 574 runs with an average of 82 and he’s ready to bounce back after an early exit just a couple of days ago.

Another batsman to keep your eye on is Jake Fraser-McGurk, and he’s been on an absolute tear with the bat and in the field.

JFM has scored 103 runs this season with an average of 51.50 and a strike rate of 219.15.

Fraser-McGurk has also hit the most sixes in the comp so far with 10, which I can expect more at a field smaller than the under-13 boundaries.

New Zealand’s own Corey Anderson has been the most underrated All-Rounder this season who is joint leading wicket taker for the hurricanes, and I’ll be taking him for 1 wicket tonight.

For the Melbourne Renegades I’ll be taking Will Sutherland to fire the Gades up and snag a wicket in the dying stages of the game.

My suggested bets are:

Same Game Multi:

Ben McDermott 20+ Runs

Jake Fraser-McGurk 20+ Runs

Corey Anderson 1+ Wicket

Will Sutherland 1+ Wicket

Sydney Sixers vs Adelaide Strikers
Suggested Bets Below

The Sixers Strikers clash in what could prove to be the standout contest of BBL13 so far!

The Sixers have flown the gates with wins over the Renegades and the Hurricanes, while the Strikers overcame a few key omissions to beat a very credible Thunder side on Tuesday night. Both sides are therefore undefeated, and neither will want this to be their first blemish.

I’ve really liked the way that the Sixers have gone about their work. Both times, they have faced some credible opposition, but they’ve also always looked pretty in control, and the results say as much.

I personally thought that the Strikers were under the odds in their game with the Thunder, and while it really was ‘edge of your seat’ stuff, they got the W. The short brothers were outstanding at the top of the order, and with Lynny primed at first drop – wow. There could be some big scores set this season.

Simply on account of it being played at the SCG, I’m leaning towards the Sixers here, but I’m also digging into the player markets for a bit of value.

Suggested Bets

  • Sixers to Win – $1.72
  • D’Arcy Short Strikers Top Runscorer – $4.50
  • Ben Dwarshuis 2+ Wickets – $2.25

Melbourne Renegades vs Brisbane Heat
Suggested Bets Below

The Renegades take on the Heat tonight, with the latter undefeated in BBL13!

The Heat opened their account with an easy win over the Stars last Thursday, and while their second match against the Strikers was abandoned, they responded with another good win over the Thunder on Tuesday.

Colin Munro is airborne, but ably supported by a sturdy batting line up and a credible bowling outfit.

The Renegades lost their first match against the Sydney Sixers, while their second match against the Scorchers was abandoned as a result of the pitch. This will be the first time we’ll really get to see Quinton de Kock in action, and I think he’s going to hit the ground running.

Suggested Bets:

  • Renegades Win ($2.10)
  • Quinton de Kock 50+ Runs ($3.70)

Wednesday, December 20th

Perth Scorchers vs Hobart Hurricanes
Suggested Bets Below

The Scorchers and Hurricanes do battle in nation’s west on Wednesday night and perhaps understandably, the home side will start favourites in betting.

The Scorchers kicked off their title defence with an easy win over the Stars, having had their first actual match with the Renegades abandoned as a result of the awful Geelong pitch. They look typically strong all the way down the order, and they will take plenty of beating every time that they step out – particularly at home.

The ‘Canes have made just one appearance of their own in BBL13; a loss to the Sydney Sixers at home, and it’s tough imagining them reversing their fortunes in this contest.

Suggested Bets

  • Scorchers to Win ($1.53)
  • Josh Inglis Scorchers Top Runscorer ($4)
  • Jhye Richardson 2+ Wickets ($2)

Tuesday, December 19th

Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Thunder
Suggested Bets Below

We return from the Test match break in Adelaide on Tuesday night and finally, the Strikers can begin their new BBL campaign.

The Strikers’ first match against the Heat was abandoned without a ball bowled, but given how that opponent has performed so far, this is probably a softer launchpad for them.

The injury loss of marquee international Rashid Khan is obviously an enormous blow, as is the lack of Travis Head and Alex Carey, both on Test team duty, and the Strikers really will need to gel early if they are any chance of making the finals.

The Thunder have had one match so far in BBL13, a tight loss to the in-form and impressive Brisbane Heat.

I have the Thunder as a genuine smokey again this season, and I think they are value in match betting for this one ($2 at publish).

Suggested Bets

  • Thunder to Win ($2)
  • Daniel Sams 2+ Wickets ($2.10)

Wednesday, December 13th

Melbourne Stars vs Perth Scorchers
Same Game Multi

The Stars and Scorchers trade blows at the MCG on Wednesday night.

The Stars were extremely disappointing in their campaign opener against the Heat last Thursday, simply never looking a chance from the change of innings and ultimately losing by 103 runs. I have little doubt they’ll strip fitter and improve for that hit-out, but they’d need to improve noticeably to compete here.

The Scorchers meanwhile only made it seven overs into their game with the Renegades on Sunday before the match was abandoned as a result of the terrible, terrible pitch in Geelong. We didn’t get to see a whole lot of them, and given the conditions, I am happy to put a line through that game.

The Scorchers will almost certainly be a class above the Stars all season again, and they can record their first win of the campaign tonight.

Same Game Multi selections:

  • Scorchers to Win ($1.42)
  • Josh Inglis 50+ Runs ($3.20)
  • $6.65
